திருமீயச்சூர் லலிதாம்பிகை அம்மனின் நெய்க்குளம் தரிசனம் நவராத்திரி காலத்தில் மிகவும் பிரசத்தி பெற்றது.

விஜயதசமியன்று மூன்று மூட்டை அரிசியில் சர்க்கரைப் பொங்கல், புளி சாதம், தயிர்சாதம் போன்றவற்றை தயாரித்து தேவியின் சந்நதியின் முன் வாழையிலை, மட்டை, தென்னை ஓலை ஆகியவற்றின் மீது 15 அடி நீளம், 4 அடி அகலம், ஒன்றரை அடி உயரத்தில் படையலாகப் படைக்கப்படும்.

சர்க்கரைப் பொங்கலின் நடுவில் பள்ளம் அமைத்து இரண்டரை டின் நெய் ஊற்றப்படும்.

தேவிக்கு நன்கு அலங்காரம் செய்யப்பட்டு தீபங்கள் ஏற்றப்பட்டு திரை விலக்கப்படும் போது தேவியின் பிம்பம் சர்க்கரைப் பொங்கலில் உள்ள நெய்க்குளத்தில் தெரிவதைக் காண்பது பெரும் பாக்கியம்.

இதனை தரிசிப்பவர்களுக்கு மறுபிறவியே கிடையாது என்று நம்பப்படுகிறது.

Dharshan of Thirumeyachur  reflection in a pond of ghee during Navarathri time is very auspicious and popular.

On Vijayadasami day, using 3 bags of rice Sweet Pongal, Tamarind Rice , Curd rice etc are prepared. In front of Devi’s sanadhi , banana leaves as well as fresh barks, and coconut leaves are all spread out. On them are served the rice preparations to a length of 15 yards with a  breadth of 4 yards and a height of one and a half yards as ‘Padayal’, i.e. offering to the Goddess.

Center of sweet pongal is dug out to pour two and a half tins of clarified butter.

The Deity is well decorated and lamps are lit. And when the curtain is removed, the image of the Goddess is seen reflected in the pond of ghee created in the sakarai pongal! This is considered as a great blessing. It is believed that those who have such a darshan of Devi will have no rebirth .
