This is described as an Age of Doubt. People ask us how they can trust what they have not seen. We have seen how our sages were aware of many highly subtle scientific philosophies which are not directly known to us and structured many Aacharams accordingly.  Since they possessed such unnatural powers to decipher such mysteries without the help of any laboratory equipment and the truths they thus arrived at were true, then we must believe that whatever they had uttered without any scientific provenance must also be true.
