DAILY CULTURAL ACTIVITIES AT MAYILADUTHURAI DURING THE KAVERI MAHA-PUSHKARAM
The Kaveri Maha-Pushkaram commences at Mayiladuthurai in Nagapattinam District from 12/09/2017. On account of this, cultural activities to be held on all 12 days has been announced. Cultural Activities will be held on all days between 5 pm and 9 pm.
12th September : The Shankaracharyas of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam will be participating in the Awards-Presentation Ceremony. This will be followed by Devotional Music by Dr Ganesh and Party.
13th September : Thevaram recital by Sri Shiva Saambava Oduvar of Tiruvanaikkaval followed by Spiritual Discourse by Sri Manikantan.
14th September : ‘Pushpanjali’ offering to Sri Jayendra Swaraswathi, Shankaracharya, Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam followed by Bharatha-Natyam entitled ‘Sharanam Devi Kaveri’ by Mumbai Kalyanasundaram.
15th September : Parayanam of ‘Soundarya Lahiri’ by the Ladies Group from Mumbai followed by Devotional Songs by Anantharaman and Group.
16th September : Procession by Village-Temple-Priests. Program starts with Vocal recital by Suryaprakash supported by Kamesh on the Violin and Umayalpuram Mali on the Mridangam followed by ‘Sri Maha Periyavaa’ Drama by Kalamithra Ramji.
17th September : Bharatha Natyam by Madipakkam Malini, Balaji and Group followed by Bhajan by Cuddalore Gopi Bhagavathar ‘Bhagavatha Leelaigal’.
18th September : Devotional Discourse on ‘God as shown by Kaveri’ by S S M Sundaram followed by Devotional Music by Veeramani Raju.
19th September : Program on Recital of Thirukkural followed by Bhajanai – Kovai Jayarama Bhagavathar.
20th September : Dance drama ‘Kaveri – The remover of Sins’ by Lakshmi Priya and Group followed by Bajanai by Kadayanallur Rajagopala Bhagavathar.
21st September : Veena recital by Jayalakshmi Sekhar followed by Discourse ‘Kaveri – Purer than Ganga’ by Tiruchi Kalyanaraman.
22nd September : Dhevaram recital by Karaikudi Bhairava Gurukkal followed by Discourse ‘Kaveri and God’ by Dr Hussain.
23rd September : Laya-Khsetra Dance by Bala Nandakumar followed by Devotional Music by Hariharan and Kalakkadu Balaji.
24th September : Harathi to Kaveri followed by Symposium in Poetry on the topic ‘Nadanthai Vaazhi Kaveri’.
