பசுக்கள் செல்கிறபோது கிளம்புகிற அவற்றின் குளம்படி மண்ணை ரொம்பவும் புனிதமாகச் சொல்லியிருக்கிறது. அதற்கு ‘கோ தூளி’ என்று பெயர். பாலக்ருஷ்ணனே இப்படித்தான் நீல மேக ச்யாமள காத்ரத்தில் பசுக்களின் தூள் சந்தனப் பொடி தூவினாற் போலப் படிந்து “கோதூளீ தூஸரித”னாக இருந்தானாம். ஒரு பசு மந்தை போகிற போது, அவை கூட்டமாகப் போவதாலேயே காற்றின் சலனம் அங்கே ஜாஸ்தியாகி, குளம்படி மண் நிறையக் கிளம்பும். இந்த கோதூளி நம்மை அபிஷேகம் பண்ணும்படியாக அங்க போய் நின்று கொண்டால் அதுவும் ஐந்தில் ஒருவகை ஸ்நானமாகும். இதற்கு ‘வாயவ்யம்’ என்று பெயர் – வாயு என்கிற காற்றின் ஸம்பந்தமுடையது என்று அர்த்தம். காற்றால்தானே தூளி பறக்கிறது? – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள் மொழிகள்

Scriptures consider the dust raised by the hooves of the cows to be very holy and it is called ‘Godhuli’. Even the dark skin of young Bala Krishna, herding the cows, was supposed to be covered by this dust and it is compared to sandalwood powder settled over his dark complexion. When a herd of cows move, wind rises because of the sheer movement of the cows and a lot of dust is raised. If we go and stand near these cows so that our bodies are covered by the dust raised by these hooves, it is considered a form of bath. This bath is called ‘Vaayavyam’.
