பார்ஸிகளையும், ஜைனர்களையும் போலச் சின்ன கம்யூனிடிகளாக இருந்தால் ஒரே ரூலை அதைச் சேர்ந்த எல்லாருக்கும் பொதுவாக வைத்தாலும் அதை அத்தனை பேரும் கெட்டியாகப் பிடித்துக் கொண்டு நடக்க முடிவதைப் பார்க்கிறோம். பௌத்தத்தை விட ஜைனர்களுக்கு அஹிம்ஸையில் இன்னும் ‘ஸ்ட்ரிக்ட்’ ரூல் இருந்தாலும் அவர்கள் அதிலிருந்து விலகவில்லையென்று பார்க்கிறோம். இதற்கு வித்யாஸமாக, ஏராளமான ஜன ஸமூஹத்தைப் பெற்றிருந்தும் எத்தனையோ ஆயிரம் வருஷங்களாக மற்ற எந்த மதஸ்தரையும் விட உயர்ந்த பண்புகளைக் கொண்டவர்களாக நம்முடைய மதஸ்தர்கள் இருந்து வந்திருக்கிறார்களென்றால் அதற்குக் காரணம் அதில் ஐடியல் ரூல், ஸாமான்ய ஜனங்களுக்கு ஸாத்யமான நடைமுறை வழி ஆகிய இரண்டிற்கும் இடம் கொடுத்து, ஐடியலைச் சிலருக்கு மட்டும் ‘கம்பல்ஸரி’யாக்கி அதன் மூலமே அது மற்றவர்களையும் ‘இன்ஃப்ளுயென்ஸ்’ பண்ணி அவர்களிடமும் கணிசமான அளவு ‘ஆப்ஷன’லாகப் பரவும்படி நம் சாஸ்திரங்கள் வசதி பண்ணிக் கொடுத்திருப்பதுதான். – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள் மொழிகள்

We observe that it is easier for everyone to follow a generalized set of rules among smaller communities like the Parsis and the Jains. Even though the rules of non violence are stricter for the latter than the Buddhists, they have not broken them. Contrary to this, if the followers of our religion have been able to uphold high ideals better than the followers of other religion, in spite of possessing a wider base, it is because they made the ideal rule compulsory only for a certain number of people and framed and accommodated another set of rules for the general populace.
