The Thirukkural “Nallaar Oruvar Ularel” contains the essence of the concept of distinction among the duties allotted to persons belonging to different communities and prescription of a high scale of virtues to one particular person. It is not possible for everyone to be good. If one virtuous person exists, the proverb says, it will rain for his sake. If one section among society follows such a noble path, the benefits will accrue to the other sections of the society too.
