ஸந்நியாஸி விஷயம் வேறு. அவனுக்குப் பெண்டாட்டி, பிள்ளைகுட்டி இல்லை. ஸமூஹ விசாரமும் இல்லை. லோகம் எப்படிப் போனாலும் அதைப் பற்றி அவனுக்குப் பொறுப்பு ஒன்றுமில்லை. பரமாத்ம சிந்தனையாகவே இவன் இருப்பதால், பிரேம ஸ்வரூபமான அந்தப் பரமாத்மாவின் அருள் தன்னால் இவன் வழியே ஸர்வ ஜனங்களுக்கும் பாய்ந்து நல்லது செய்ய வேண்டுமே தவிர, இவனாகக் கார்யத்தில் இறங்கி ஸமூஹத்துக்கு எதுவும் செய்ய வேண்டுமென்பதில்லை. இவன் பரமாத்மாவை அடைகிறதேதான் ஸமூஹத்துக்கும் செய்கிற உபகாரம். அதனால் இவனுக்கு துஷ்ட சிக்ஷணம், யாகம் ஆகிய எதையும் கடமையாகக் கொடுக்கவில்லை. பரிபூர்ண அஹிம்ஸா தர்மமே இவனுடைய தர்மம் என்று வைத்திருக்கிறது. ஹிந்து மதத்தின்படி ஒரு தினுஸிலும் ஹிம்ஸைக்குக் காரணமாக இல்லாமல், ‘ஒரு இலையைக் கூடக் கிள்ளக்கூடாது’ என்கிற அளவுக்குத் தீவிரமான அஹிம்ஸைக்கு அதிகாரியாக வைத்திருப்பது ஸந்நியாஸியைத்தான். – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள் மொழிகள்

The role of a Sanyaasi is different. He does not have wife or children. He is neither worried about the society nor has any responsibility towards the future of the world. Since he is immersed in the thought of the Divine Supreme, the Grace of that Divine Power will flow through him and benefit the society. He need not exert himself to serve the society. When he attains the proximity of God, that very occurrence benefits the society. So he has not been asked to destroy the evil enemies or to perform any yagam. His duty lies in the observance of complete non-violence.
