“ஒரு தார்ல 1008 பழம் இருக்கிறதை நீ இதுவரைக்கும் பார்த்திருக்கியோ?..”

(பெரியவாளின் அனுகிரஹத்தால் அந்த பழம் (1008) கிடைக்கப் பெற்ற தொண்டர் கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தியிடம் அப்பழங்களை ‘விஷு’புண்யகாலத்துக்கு குருவாயூர் அனுப்ப சொல்ல 14 நாட்கள் கெடாமலும்,ஒன்று கூட தாரில்இருந்து கீழே விழாமல் இருந்த அதிசய சம்பவம்).

சென்னையிலிருந்து ஒரு முக்யஸ்தர் அன்றைக்கு ஸ்ரீமடத்துக்கு வந்திருந்தார்.

பெரியவாளின்திருச்சந்நிதிக்கு சமர்பிக்க வேண்டும் என்பதற்காகத்தன் தோட்டத்தில் விளைந்த இரண்டு தார்வாழைப்பழ்ங்களைத் தன்னுடன் கொண்டு வந்திருந்தார்.பெரியவாளுக்கு வாழைத்தார்களை சமர்ப்பித்து விட்டு,அவருக்கு நமஸ்காரம் செய்து பிரசாதம் பெற்றுக்கொண்டு புறப்பட்டார்.

மடத்திலேயே கைங்கர்யம் செய்யும்  கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தியை அழைத்து ‘இந்த ஒவ்வொரு தார்லயும் எத்தனை பழம் இருக்குன்னு எண்ணிச்சொல்லு’ என்றார் மகா பெரியவா.

கைகளை உதறிக் கொண்டு கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி எழுந்தார். பெரியவாளிடம், “எண்ணிட்டேன் பெரியவா ஒரு தார்ல 275 பழம்,இன்னொரு தார்ல 375 பழம் இருக்கு” என்றார்.

“சபாஷ்..சரி..” என்று இழுத்த பெரியவா,”ஒரு தார்ல  1008 பழம் இருக்கிறதை  நீ இதுவரைக்கும்பார்த்திருக்கியோ..”என்று கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தியைப்பார்த்துக் கேட்டார்.

ஒரு சில விநாடிகள் கழித்து கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி. “இல்லே பெரியவா…இதுவரை நான் கேள்விப்பட்டதில்லே..பெரியவா உத்தரவு கொடுத்தா அப்படி ஒரு தார் எங்கிருந்தாலும் பிடிச்சுண்டு வந்துடறேன்” என்றார்.

“ஓ…இந்தக் கேள்விக்கெல்லாம் நானே பதில்சொல்லுவேன்னு ரொம்ப ஆவலா எம் மூஞ்சியை பாத்துண்டிருக்கியா?” என்று புன்னகையுடன் கேட்ட பெரியவா, “இதுக்கு நா பதில் சொல்ல வேணாம். இளையாத்தங்குடில மாரியம்மன் கோயில் இருக்கு. அங்கே போ. அந்த அம்மனை தரிசனம் பண்ணு.உனக்கு எல்லா விவரமும் தானா கிடைக்கும்” என்று பொசுக்கென்று முடித்தார் மகா பெரியவா.

‘1008 பழங்கள் அடங்கிய வாழைத்தாரைப்பார்ப்பதற்கு இளையாற்றங்குடிக்குப் போ’ என்று பெரியவா கட்டளை இட்டதில் வியப்பு ஒன்றும் இல்லை.இளையாற்றங்குடிக்கும் காஞ்சி ஸ்ரீசங்கர மடத்துக்கும் நிறைய தொடர்பு உண்டு.

மகா பெரியவா சொன்னபடி அடுத்த நாளே தன் குடும்பத்தோடு இளையாற்றங்குடி புறப்பட்டார் கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி. பெரியவா திருவாக்கின்படி மாரியம்மனைத் தரிசித்தார்.

அப்போது கோயிலில் இருந்த யாரோ இருவர்  வாழைத்தார்களைப் பற்றி திடீரென பேசிக் கொண்டிருந்தனர். சட்டென்று இவர்கள் பேச்சு காதுகளில் விழ..ஆச்சர்யப்பட்டு சம்பாஷணை நிகழ்ந்த திசை நோக்கித் திரும்பினார்.

அவர்களிடம், “ஐயா..1008 வாழைப்பழம் இருக்கிற மாதிரி நல்ல வாழைத்தார் வேணும்.இந்த ஊரில் எங்கே கிடைக்கும்?”என்று கேட்டார்.

ஏற இறங்கப் பார்த்த ஒரு ஆசாமி தன் வலக்கையை, நீட்டி, “தோ…தெக்கால போங்க. ஒரு பெரிய கிணத்தைத்தாண்டியதும் நிறைய வாழைமரம் இருக்கிற தோட்டம்ஒண்ணு வரும்.அங்கே இருக்கிறவர்கிட்ட கேட்டுப் பாருங்க” என்று சொன்னார்.

தலையில் முண்டாசு கட்டிய ஒருவர் இவரை எதிர்கொண்டு விசாரிக்க 1008 வாழைப்பழங்கள் அடங்கிய தார் ஒன்று வேண்டும் என்று சொன்னார்.சற்று முன் வாழைமரத்தில் இருந்து அறுத்துத் தரையில் இறக்கி வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த தார்களில் இருந்து ஒன்றைத் தூக்க முடியாமல் சுமந்து வந்தார்.அவர். “இதான் சாமீ நீங்க கேட்ட 1008 பழத்தாரு..” என்று இவர் முன்பாக வைத்தார்.

உடலெங்கும் புல்லரிப்பு. மகா பெரியவாளின் தீர்க்க  தரிசனத்தை நினைத்துப் பரவசப்பட்டார்.

தோட்டத்துக்காரன் சொன்ன விலையான ரூபாய் முப்பதைக் கொடுத்து விட்டு,ஒரு ஆசாமியை கூலிக்கு அமர்த்தி பெரியவா திருச்சந்நிதியின் முன்னால் அந்த வாழைத்தாரைக் கொண்டு போய் வைத்தார்.

அதைப் பார்த்து பெரியவா புன்னகைத்தார்.

“1008 பழம் இருக்கிற தாரைப் புடிச்சுண்டு வந்துட்டே போலிருக்கு?” என்று பெரியவா சிரித்தார்.

“நேத்து ஊர்ல பாக்கறதுக்குக் காயா இருந்தது. பெரியவா சந்நிதிக்கு வந்தவுடனே மஞ்ச மசேல்னு பழுக்க ஆரம்பிச்சுடுத்து” என்றார் கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி நெகிழ்ச்சியுடன்.

“விஷு (மலையாள புத்தாண்டு) வரப் போகிறது. இந்த தாரை ரொம்ப கவனமா குருவாயூருக்கு அனுப்பிவிடு” என்றார் பெரியவா தடாலென்று.

அப்போது பெரியவா கைங்கர்யத்தில் இருந்த சீடர்கள்  “விஷுவுக்கு இன்னும் பதினாலு நாள் இருக்கே..அதுக்குள்ள இந்த தாரை இங்கே வெச்சிருந்தா அழுகி வீணாப் போயிடுமே” என்று இவர் காதருகே வந்து குசுகுசுத்தனர்.

அப்போது கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி சொன்னார்;

“இது குருவாயூருக்குப் போகணும்னு பெரியவா உத்தரவு போட்டிட்டாருன்னா, அது பதினாலு நாள் இல்லே… பதினாலு வருஷம் ஆனாலும் கெட்டுப் போகாது. அன்னிக்கிப் பழுத்த பழம் போல பொலிவோட பிரகாசமா இருக்கும். பெரியவா வாக்கு என்னிக்குமே தப்பாது” என்று சொல்லி தாரைப் பத்திரப்படுத்துமாறு ஒரு சிஷ்யரிடம் சொன்னார்.

குருவாயூரில் சமர்ப்பிக்கப்படும் வரை அந்த 1008 பழத்தில் ஒரு பழம்கூட தாரில் இருந்து கீழே விழவில்லை. முனையில் கருக்கவில்லை. கொஞ்சமும் வீணாகாமல்  புத்தம் புதிதாக அப்படியே இருந்தது அதிசயம்தான்.

Have you ever seen 1008 bananas in a banana tar?

(The surprising event when a devotee, who with the blessings of Mahaperiyava, got the tar with 1008 bananas, Mahaperiyava gave them to Krishnamoorthy and asked him to send the bananas to Guruvayur on the occasion of Vishu punya kaalam, and the fruits stayed fresh for 14 days and not even one fruit came off of the tar)

An important person from Chennai had come to Sri Matam.

He had brought with him two tars of banana, from his own garden, to offer to Mahaperiyava. He offered the bananas to Mahaperiyava, prostrated to him and received the prashadham and started to leave.

Mahaperiyava called Krishnamoorthy, who was doing service at Sri Matam and told him, “Count how many bananas are there in each tar and let me know”.

Krishnamoorthy counted the fruits in each tar. He told Mahaperiyava, “I counted Periyava, one tar has 275 bananas and the other tar has 375 bananas”.

Mahaperiyava replied, “Very good, have you ever seen 1008 bananas in one tar”?

Krishnamoorthy paused for a second and then said, “No Periyava, I have never heard of it. But, if Periyava commands then I will search for the tar everywhere and bring one back”.

Mahaperiyava smiled and said, “O ! Are you looking at my face, waiting to get a reply for these questions? I don’t have to answer this. There is a Maariyamman temple in Illayatrangudi. Go there. Have dharshan of the Amman there. You will get all the answers”.

It is not a surprise that Mahaperiya commanded to go to Illayatrangudi to see the tar with 1008 bananas. There is a lot of connection between Kanchi Sri Shankara Matam and Illyatrangudi.

Krishnamoorthy left for Illayatrangudi, with his family the very next day. He had the dharshan of Maariamman there.

Then, he heard two people conversing about banana tars there. He was very surprised and he started looking in their direction.

Krishnamoorthy asked them, “Sir, I need to get a banana tar with 1008 bananas. Where can I find it here?”

The person looked at him strangely and pointed in a direction and replied, “Go down South. There will be a big well. After that there is a huge garden with lots of banana trees. Go there and check with them.”

When he went there, he saw a person and asked him about the banana tar with 1008 bananas. The person got a banana tar that he had just cut off from the tree. He gave that to Krishnamoorthy and said, “This is the tar with 1008 bananas.”

Krishnamoorthy could feel goose bumps all over and he was very happy to realize how Mahaperiyava can see everything.

Krishnamoorthy paid Rs. 30 to the person for the banana tar and got some help to carry the banana tar back to Sri Matam and placed the tar in front of Mahaperiyava.

Mahaperiyava smiled at him.

Mahaperiyava laughed and said, “You actually found the banana tar with 1008 bananas.”

Krishnamoorthy was very pleased and said, “Yesterday all these fruits were raw and green. As soon as they reached Mahaperiyava’s sannidhi all of them have become ripe and yellow.”

Mahaperiyava suddenly replied back, “Send all these bananas to Guruvayoor for Vishu (Malayalam New Year).”

The sishyas in Sri Matam whispered to Krishnamoorthy, “There is 14 more days to Vishu. If we keep the tar till then, all these bananas will go bad.”

Krishnamoorthy asked the sishyas to keep the tar safe and said,” If it is Mahaperiyava’s command that these fruits have to reach Guruvayoor then, not only for 14 days even if it is 14 years nothing will happen to the tar. All the fruits will remain fresh. That is the power of Mahaperiyava’s words.”

It was a miracle that, all the bananas stayed fresh and not even one of the fruit fell down from the tar till they were offered at the Guruvayoor temple.
