உண்மையில் திருவள்ளுவர் என்ன mean பண்ணுகிறாரென்றால் ‘ஒருவன் தன்குலத்துக்கான ஒழுக்கத்தோடு இருப்பதுதான் அந்தக் குலத்தில் உயர்வை அவனுக்குத் தருகிறது. அந்த ஒழுக்கம் கெட்டவனானால் இழி பிறவியனாகி விடுகிறான்’ என்பதே. இப்படி அர்த்தம் புரிந்து கொண்டால்தான் இதற்கு logical sequence -ஆக [தர்க்கரீதியில் தொடரிழையாக] எல்லாருக்குமே அவரவர் ஆசாரம் முக்யமானாலும், பார்ப்பனனுக்கு அது மிகமிக முக்கியமானது, அவனுக்கே சிறப்பாக ஆசாரங்கள் அதிகம் அமைந்துள்ளன என்ற அடிப்படையை ஒப்புக் கொண்டு,

மறப்பினும் ஓத்துக் கொளலாகும் பார்ப்பான்

பிறப்பொழுக்கம் குன்றக் கெடும்

என்று குறள் பண்ணிக்கொண்டு போயிருப்பதன் பொருத்தத்தைப் புரிந்து கொண்டு ரஸிக்க முடியும்.

இப்படியே சொல்லிக் கொண்டு போய், ஒழுக்கம் என்பது பிரத்யக்மான த்ருஷ்ட பலனைத் தருவது மட்டுமில்லை; அத்ருஷ்டமாக நல்லொழுக்கமே புண்யம் என்பதாகி, என்றோ ஒரு காலத்தில் நல்லதைத் தரும்; தீய ஒழுக்கம் பாபம் என்பதாகி எந்நாளும் கஷ்டத்தைத் தரும் என்ற வைதிகக் கருத்தை வெளியிடுகிறார்^{. –} ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள் மொழிகள்

What Thiruvalluvar actually means is that a person rises to high position in his community only by following the code of conduct prescribed for that community and if he fails to do so, he is a despicable being. If only we accept this meaning, as a logical sequence, we can arrive at the conclusion that a code of conduct is very important for a Brahmin though it is very important for the others too and as such a lot of rules of Aacharam have been imposed upon him. We can also appreciate the meaning of the Kural ‘Marappinum…’.
