ஸ்ரீ மகா பெரியவா திருவடி சரணம்.

8-6-2017 வியாழக்கிழமை “தினத்தந்தி” நாளிதழில் வெளிவந்த காஞ்சி மகா பெரியவா அவதார தின சிறப்பு கட்டுரை.

“காலமெல்லாம் நம்மைக் காப்பாள் மயிலை கற்பகாம்பாள்” என்று கருணைக் கடல் காஞ்சி மகா பெரியவா அருளி இருக்கிறார்.

தமிழ் கட்டுரையையும் அதன் ஆங்கில மொழிபெயர்ப்பையும் இங்கே கொடுத்துள்ளோம்.  படித்து இன்புறுங்கள்.

காஞ்சி மகா பெரியவர் அவதார தினம்

“மகா பெரியவா” என்று பக்த கோடிகளால் அன்புடன் அழைக்கப்படும் காஞ்சி ஸ்ரீ காமகோடி பீடத்தின் 68-வது பீடாதிபதியான ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி சுவாமிகளின் 124-வது ஜயந்தி தினம் இன்று (8-6-2017).  அதாவது, அந்த மகான் அவதரித்த தினம்.

உணவு, யாத்திரைகள், தங்குகிற முகாம்கள் என்று எல்லாவற்றிலும் ஆடம்பரத்தை தவிர்த்து, எளிமையை மட்டுமே கடைப்பிடித்து வாழந்த காரணத்தால், சமீப காலத்தில் வாழ்ந்த சந்நியாசி என்றால், மகா பெரியவர்தான் எல்லோர் நினைவிலும் வருகிறார்.  நூறு ஆண்டுகள் வாழ்ந்தவர்.

உலகெங்கும் இருக்கிற மகா பெரியவரின் பக்தர்கள் இன்றைய தினம் வேத பாராயணம், சிறப்பு ஹோமங்கள், தேவார-திருவாசகம் பாடுதல், சிறப்பு அபிஷேகம், திருவீதி உலா, அன்னதானம் என்று இந்த அவதார தினத்தை உள்ளார்ந்த பக்தியோடு விமரிசையாகக் கொண்டாடி வருகிறார்கள்.

அந்த மகான் பற்றிய ஒரே ஒரு நிகழ்வை இன்றைய தினம் பார்ப்போம்.

மிகப்பெரிய தமிழறிஞர் கி.வா.ஜவை (கி.வா.ஜகந்நாதன்) அறியாதவர்கள் இருக்க முடியாது.  அவருடைய மருகமளான திரிபுரசுந்தரி ஒரு முறை காஞ்சி மகா பெரியவாளை மயிலாப்பூர் முகாமில் தரிசித்தார்.

மகானைத் தரிசிக்கக் காத்திருக்கும் பக்தர்கள் வரிசையில் நின்று, மெள்ள மெள்ள ஊர்ந்து சென்று மகா பெரியவாளின் திருச்சந்நிதியை அடைந்தார் திரிபுரசுந்தரி.

மகா பெரியவாளுக்குத் திரிபுரசுந்தரி அறிமுகம் செய்து வைக்கப்பட்டார்.  மகானுக்குத் தான் கொண்டு வந்த பழங்கள், புஷ்பங்கள் போன்ற காணிக்கை பொருட்களை ஒரு மூங்கில் தட்டில் வைத்து விட்டு நமஸ்கரித்தார்.

தன் வலக்கையை உயர்த்தி, திரிபுரசுந்தரியை ஆசீர்வதித்து விட்டு “மெட்ராஸ்ல எங்க தங்கி இருக்கே?” என்று கேட்டார் மகா பெரியவா.

“மயிலாப்பூர்லதான் பெரியவா.” – திரிபுரசுந்தரி.

“மயிலாப்பூர்ல கோவில்களுக்குப் போற வழக்கம் உண்டா?”

“ஆமாம் பெரியவா. அதுவும் கபாலீஸ்வரர் கோவில்ல கற்பகாம்பாள்ன்னா எனக்கு அவ்ளோ இஷ்டம்” என்றார் முகம் முழுக்க பரவசத்துடன்.

“கற்பகாம்பாள்கிட்ட என்ன வேண்டிப்பே?”

“எப்பவும் உலக நலனுக்காகத்தான் வேண்டிப்பேன் பெரியவா.  தெய்வங்கள்கிட்ட நமக்குன்னு எதுவும் கேக்கக் கூடாதுன்னு என் மாமனார் (கி.வா.ஜ) சொல்வார்.

“பலே… நான் ஒண்ணு சொல்றேன்.  நன்னா கேட்டுக்கோ” என்றவர், திரிபுரசுந்தரி மட்டுமல்லாமல், தன் அருகே கூடி இருந்த அனைவரையும் நோக்கி பேச ஆரம்பித்தார்.

“உன்னோட போன பிறவிகள்ல நீ பண்ணின புண்ணியத்துனாலதான் இப்ப மயிலாப்பூர்ல வசிக்கறே.

இங்க இருக்கற கற்பகாம்பாள் யாரு தெரியுமா? கற்பக விருட்சம்.  தேவலோகத்துல கற்பக விருட்சம்னு ஒரு மரம் இருக்கு. அதுக்கு அடியில நின்னுண்டு யார் என்ன கேட்டாலும் அந்த விருட்சம் ஒடனே குடுத்துடும்.  அது போல இந்த கற்பகாம்பாள் சந்நிதிக்கு முன்னாடி நின்னுண்டு நீ என்ன கேட்டாலும் குடுத்துடுவா” என்று மகா பெரியவர் சொன்னபோது, மயிலாப்பூர்வாசிகள் அனைவரும் பரவசம் மேலிட, ஆனந்தக் கண்ணீரி சொரிந்தனர்.

மகா பெரியவர் தொடர்ந்தார்: “எத்தனை எத்தனை ஜன்மம் எடுத்தாலும் மயிலாப்பூர்லயே பிறக்கணும்.  உன்னை தரிசிச்சிண்டே இருக்கணும்’னு அவகிட்ட கேட்டுக்கோ.  அவளோட பார்வையில யாரும் பசியோட இருக்கறதை பாத்துண்டு இருக்க மாட்டா.  மயிலாப்பூர்ல இருக்கற பிச்சைக்காரா, நாய்கள் போன்ற அனைவருக்கும் கற்பகாம்பாள்தான் சாப்பாடு போடறா” என்று மகா பெரியவா முடித்ததும், கண்களில் நீர் கசிய “பெரியவா” என்று பெரும்குரலெடுத்து மீண்டும் அந்த மகானை வணங்கினார் திரிபுரசுந்தரி.

Sri Maha Periyava Thiruvadi Charanam

“Mylapore Karpagambal will protect us forever” –  Sri Maha Periyava.

Today, 8th June 2017, is the 124 Jayanthi day of Kanchi Sri Kamakoti Peetam’s 68th Acharya Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Swami, fondly called “Maha Periyava” by the devotees all over the world.  Today is the day the Mahan came into this world.

Everyone remembers him as a great Mahan who was very simple in every aspect of life, like food habits, pilgrimage, camping in places with minimal facilities etc.  He lived for hundred years as an epitome of simplicity.

His devotees living all around the world are celebrating this day with pure and sincere devotion, by chanting the Vedas, special homams, reciting the sacred Thevaram, Thiruvachagam, special abishegams, procession and annadhanam.  Here, let us recall just one incident about the Mahan.

Almost everyone is familiar with the name Sri Ki.Va.Ja (K.V. jagannathan) the great Tamil Orator and Writer.  Once when Mahan was camping in Mylapore, Sri Ki.Va.Ja’s daughter-in-law Tripurasundari went there for darshan.

She stood in the long queue with other devotees waiting to see the Mahan and finally reached the place where he was sitting.

She was introduced to him.  She kept the fruits, flowers and other offerings which she brought for the Mahan in a bamboo tray in front of him and prostrated.

Raising his right hand, Mahan blessed Tripurasundari and asked “Where do you stay in Madras?”

“Here in Mylapore Periyava” replied Tripurasundari.

“Do you have the habit of going to temples?”

“Yes Periyava.  Especially, I always enjoy going to Kapaleeswarar Temple and praying to Karpagambal” said Tripurasundari in a happy voice.

“What do you pray to Karpagambal?”

“I always pray for the welfare of every being in the world Periyava.  My father-in-law (Ki.Va.Ja) always says that we should not pray or ask anything for ourselves.”

“That’s good.  I will tell you something. Listen to this” saying thus, he said the following not only to Tripurasundari but to all the devotees gathered there.

“Because of your good and meritorious deeds in the previous births, you are now living in Mylapore in this birth.

Do you know who this Karpagambal is?  Karpakavruksham.  In the heaven (Devalokam) there is a tree by the name Karpakavruksham.  Standing under the tree, if anyone wishes for anything, the divine tree will fulfill the wishes.  In the same way, if you ask for anything in the Karpagambal sanctum here, She will give to you immediately”.  Listening to Maha Periyava, all the Mylapore residents’ eyes were brimming with tears of joy.

Maha Periyava continued “Pray to her, that you should always be born in Mylapore and have her darshan throughout your life.  She cannot see anyone being hungry.  She is the one who is feeding the beggars and dogs living here in Mylapore”.  When Maha Periyava completed, unable to control her emotions, Tripurasundari prostrated to him, with tears flowing from her eyes.
