You might have seen this matter in the Press recently. Russians are communists who deny the existence of God. But while in our country, we moan over the smoke and watering eyes when we perform a homam in our houses. The Russians have discovered the beneficial effects of the same. They have praised the effects of the smoke from the cow dung cakes which they state can counteract many pollutions including atomic radiation. Even earlier the doctors had stated that the smoke from the herbs used in the homam acts as an antiseptic.
