வேத மந்திரங்களின் வீர்யம் குறையாமல் அவற்றை ரக்ஷித்துத் தருகிற பொறுப்புப் பெற்றவர்களும், புத்திவேலை அதிகமுள்ளவர்களுமான ஜாதியாருக்குக் காரியமும் வேண்டும். ஆசாரக் கட்டுப்பாடும் அதிகம் வேண்டுமென்றுதான் சாஸ்திரத்தில் அவர்களுக்கு மந்திர பூர்வமாக இத்தனை அநுஷ்டானங்களை வைத்திருக்கிறது. மற்ற விதத்தில் தேஹத்தில் அநேக காரியங்களைச் செய்து ஸமூஹத்துக்கு உபகரித்து, இதன் மூலமே தங்கள் கர்மாவை அநுபவித்துத் தீர்த்துச் சித்த சுத்தி பெறுகிற இதர ஜாதிக்காரர்களுக்கு இத்தனை கடுமையான ஆசாரமில்லை மந்திரங்களுக்குப் பதில் அவர்கள் பகவந் நாமாவை அல்லது ஸ்தோத்ரங்களை, துதிப்பாடல்களைச் சொன்னாலே போதுமானது. என்ன சொல்லிக் கொண்டிருந்தேனென்றால், த்ருஷ்டமான லௌகிக பலனோடு, அத்ருஷ்டமான ஆத்மார்த்த பலனையும் பெறவே சாஸ்திர ஆசாரங்கள். அவற்றில் த்ருஷ்டமாகத் தெரிவதை மட்டும் எடுத்துக் கொண்டு, அத்ருஷ்டத்தைத் தள்ளுவது பிசகு. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள் மொழிகள்

People who are entrusted with the responsibility of protecting the Vedic mantras and ensuring that the powers of these mantras are not weakened and those who have to do a lot of brain work are bound by action as well as the restrictions of Aacharam. So the sastras have prescribed so many mantra oriented rituals for them. People belonging to other communities who serve the society through physical labor and thus reduce their Karmic burden and attain purity of mind are not prescribed such strict codes of Aacharam. It is enough if they chant the Divine Bhagawan Nama or stotras and songs.
