“ஆசார ஹீநம் ந புநந்தி வேதா:”– அதாவது, ஆசாரமில்லாமல் எத்தனைதான் வேதத்தைப் படித்தாலும் அதனால் ஒருத்தனை வேதம் சுத்தனாக்கி விடாது என்று சொல்லியிருக்கிறது. எப்பேர்ப்பட்ட புண்ய தீர்த்தமானாலும் மண்டையோட்டிலே கொண்டு வந்தால் எப்படிப் பிரயோஜனப்படாதோ, எத்தனை நல்ல பசும் பாலானாலும் நாய்த்தோற் பையில் வைத்திருந்தால் எப்படிப் பானயோக்யமாகாதோ அப்படியே ஆசாரஹீனன் எவ்வளவு வேத சாஸ்திரங்களெல்லாம் படித்தவனாயிருந்தாலும் அவனிடமுள்ள வித்யை அவனுக்கும் உதவாமல் லோகத்துக்கும் உதவாமலே போகும் என்று  சாஸ்திரத்திலிருக்கிறது. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள் மொழிகள்

“Áachaara Heenam Na Punanti Vedaahaa”- it is stated that how much ever a person reads Vedas, without Aacharam, the Vedas will not cleanse him. However holy the water may be, it will not be of any use if it is brought in a skull and however good the cow’s milk is, it will not be fit for drinking if kept in a bag made of dog’s skin. Similarly however well read a person may be in the Veda Sastras, if he does not follow Aacharam, his knowledge will be of little use to the world and himself.
