வெளிவிஷயங்களில் என்ன கட்டுப்பாடு வேண்டிக் கிடந்தது என்று நாம் இஷ்டப்படி பண்ணினால், எல்லாம் மனஸ் இழுத்துக்கொண்டு போகிறபடி போய், அதுவும் இல்லை, இதுவும் இல்லை என்றுதான் முடியும். ஆசாரம் ஆத்ம ஸாக்ஷாத்காரத்தை உண்டாக்கி விடவில்லை என்று இந்த நாள் வேதாந்திகள் சொல்கிறது நிஜந்தான். அதாவது, உடனே, நேர்பலனாக உண்டாக்கவில்லை என்பது நிஜந்தான். ஆனால் என்றைக்கோ ஒரு நாளாவது நாம் நிஜமான வேதாந்திகளாக ஆக வேண்டுமானால், அதற்கு இப்போது நமக்கு இருக்கிற சரீர-குடும்ப-ஸமூஹ அபிமானங்களில் ஆரம்பித்து இவற்றை எப்படி ஆசார ரீதியில் சுத்தப்படுத்திக் கொள்வது என்பதில் கவனம் செலுத்தி அப்படி பண்ணிக்கொண்டு போனால்தான் முடியும். ஆசாரமேயில்லாமல் ஆத்ம ஸம்பத்தை ஸம்பாதித்துக் கொள்வது என்பது எந்த ஒரு நாளுமே அந்த ‘ஐடியல்’ நிலைக்குப் போக முடியாமல், நம்மைக் கெடுப்பதில்தான் முடியும். – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள் மொழிகள்
If we pay little heed to these restrictions on external matters and continue to act as per the dictates of our heart it will lead us nowhere. It is true what the Vedantins or the modern philosophers sa y- that Aacharam will not lead to realization of the soul. There is no direct benefit indeed. But if we want to become true Vedantins one day or other, it is possible only if we pay attention to our attachments, to our own selves and families and purify them as per the rules of Aacharam.
