இப்போது நாம் என்ன பண்ணவேண்டுமென்றால், ஹிந்து மதத்திலேயே உள்ள பிரிவுகளில் ஏற்பட்டிருக்கிற குலாசாரங்களில் நமக்குப் பிறப்பினால் எது அமைந்திருக்கிறதோ அதில் நிறைவு ஏற்படாமல் இதே வைதிக மரபில் இன்னொரு விதமான ஆசாரத்தில்தான் நிறைவடைகிறோம் என்றாலுங்கூட, எப்படிக் குமாரிலபட்டரும் மங்கையர்க்கரசியும் வெளிப்பட அன்ய மதங்களை அநுஸரித்தாற் போலிருந்து கொண்டு, உள்ளுக்குள் ஸொந்த மதத்திலேயே பற்றோடிருந்தார்களோ, அப்படி, வெளிப்பட குலாசாரத்தையே பின்பற்றிக் கொண்டு மனஸுக்குள் மட்டும் நமக்கு இஷ்டமான உபாஸனையை வைத்துக் கொள்ளவே பிரயத்னம் செய்ய வேண்டும். நம்முடைய உள்மனஸின் பற்றுதல் ஆழமானதாக, உண்மையானதாக இருந்தால் நிச்சயம் அந்த இரண்டு பேரையும் போல நாமே ஜயசாலிகளாகி தைரியமாய் நம் ‘கன்விக்ஷன்’ படி நடக்கிற நாள் வரும். “அதுவரை கன்விக்ஷன்படி தைரியமாய் நடக்கக் கூடாதா? இப்படி உள்ளொன்றும் புறமொன்றுமாக நடக்கும்படி உபதேசிப்பதற்கா நீங்கள் ஆசார்யன் என்று பேர் வைத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறீர்கள்? இது மட்டும் மித்யாசாரமில்லையா?” என்றால்……. ஒன்றைத் தப்பு என்பது எதற்காக? ஸ்வய நலனுக்காப் பண்ணினால்தானே அல்லது ஒருத்தனைக் கெடுத்து இன்னொருத்தனுக்கு நன்மை பண்ணுவதுதானே தப்பு? இதிலே அந்த மாதிரித் தப்புகள் ஒன்றும் இல்லையே! ‘ஒருத்தனையும் கெடுத்து விடக் கூடாது; ஏற்கனவே ஸ்வாதந்திரியம் என்று சொல்லிக் கொண்டு குலாசாரங்களை விட்டுக் கெட்டுப் போய்க்கொண்டிருப்பவர்களுக்கு மதாபிமானம் உள்ள நாமும் வலுத் தந்து விடக் கூடாது. எவனையும் நாம் கெடுத்துவிடக் கூடாது. நமக்குப் பிரியமானது போனாலும் போகட்டும்’ என்கிற தியாகத்தின் மேல் தானே இப்படிச் செய்யச் சொல்கிறேன்? அதனால் தப்பு இல்லை. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள் மொழிகள்

What we should do now is to follow the traditions of the sect in which we were born even if they run contrary to our philosophical convictions and continue to worship our favorite God-Ishta Devata- in our hearts. It is the same way in which Kumarila Bhattar and Mangayarkkarasi followed the tenets of their own religion in their heart of hearts while apparently following a different religion in the eyes of the world. We may not feel contented with those traditions of that sect of Hindu religion in which we were born but find contentment only with another set of traditions within the folds of the same religion. If our deepest convictions are really true, a day will come when we will also be successful like those two and be able to follow our convictions openly and boldly. You may wonder whether one should not follow your convictions till that day arrives. You may question my own position as Aacharya – the Teacher – because I ask you to follow one path while believing in the other. You may ask whether this is not hypocrisy. What is wrong? Something is wrong only if it is done for selfish reasons and if in order to benefit someone we wrong some other. This situation is not like that. We are not harming anyone. We are ensuring that as devout followers of our religion we are not giving more handle to those people who are already straying away from the traditions in the name of freedom. I am advising you to act in this manner in order not to harm anyone and in the process we are sacrificing something dear to our heart.
