“நான் இவ்வளவு நேரம் சொன்னதை வாபஸ் பண்ணிவிடுகிறேன். பூர்வாசாரமும் வேண்டாம்; ஒன்றும் வேண்டாம். நீ எப்படியும் பகவானை நம்புகிறாய், அவனை மனஸார ஒரு ரூபத்தில் உபாஸிக்க வேண்டும் என்று தாபப்படுகிறாய். அதனால் உன்னை அவனே பார்த்துக் கொள்வான். பூர்விகர் ஆசாரத்தைப் பற்றிக் கவலைப்படாதேயப்பா” என்று சொல்லி விடலாமா?

இதுவும் நிம்மதிப்படமாட்டேனென்கிறது. எங்கே கட்டறுத்துக்கொண்டு போகலாமென்று ஜனங்கள் ஒரே இந்திரிய ஆட்டத்திலும் நாஸ்திகத்திலும் போய்க் கொண்டிருக்கிற இந்த ஸமயத்திலே ஏதோ கொஞ்சம் தர்மம், பக்தி, ஆத்மார்த்தமான தத்வம் என்று நாட்டம் உள்ளவர்களையும் குல வழக்கத்திலிருந்து அவிழ்த்து ஸ்வதந்திரமாக விடுவதென்றால், இப்போது நல்ல லக்ஷ்யத்துக்காகவே இவர்கள் ஸ்வதந்திரம் கேட்டாலும், அப்புறம் அதன் பழக்கத்தாலேயே மற்றவற்றிலும் ஸ்வதந்த்ரமாகத் தெறிகெட்டுப்போக ஆரம்பித்துவிட்டால் என்ன பண்ணுவது என்று இருக்கிறது. அநேக இடங்களில் இப்படி நடந்துமிருக்கிறது. பக்தி, தர்மம், தத்வம் என்ற அபிலாஷைகளிருக்கும் மற்ற ஜனங்களும் இவர்களைப் பார்த்து இவர்கள் குலாசாரத்தை விடுகிறார்களென்பதால் தாங்களும் விடலாம் என்பதற்குத் தானே ஊக்கம் பெறுவார்கள்? இதையெல்லாம் பார்த்தால், பகவானே என்ன சொன்னார், ரொம்ப நிர்தாக்ஷிண்யமாகத்தானே சொன்னார், அப்படித்தான் நாமும் குலாசாரத்தை ஒரு நாளும் விடப்படாது என்று சொல்லிவிடுவோமென்று தோன்றுகிறது. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள் மொழிகள்

Can we ask a person to ignore his ancestral traditions in the matter of worship and ask him to worship a God of his own choice since he anyway believes in a God and yearns to worship Him or Her, assuring him that God will understand his dilemma and decision?  If I do so, I will be going against all that I had stated earlier. This also does not seem to be acceptable. These are days when people are opting for a full enjoyment of the senses and atheism, seeking to sever all their traditional ties. So if we relieve the few who are interested in Devotion, Virtues, and Wpiritual philosophy of all rules and regulations (even if it is done for a good cause) this may encourage them to let go of rules and restrictions in all other matters too. This has happened in many places. Others who are interested in Devotion, Dharma, and Philosophy may be encouraged on seeing these people to forego all their ancestral traditions. So on deep thought, one feels that one has to firmly state that ancestral traditions should not be given up.
