ஜடப் பிரபஞ்ச வஸ்துக்களை பகவானே நேராகச் சேர்த்துப் பிடித்து ஸம்பந்தப்படுத்தி தர்ம நெறியில் வைத்திருக்கிறான். சைதன்யமான ஜீவப் பிரபஞ்சத்திலோ மனஸ் என்று ஒன்றைத் தந்து, அதற்கு ஸ்வதந்திரம் தந்து ஆட்டம் போட்டுவிட்டு, ஜீவன் தானாகவே அதை நெறிப்படுத்திக் கொள்கிற ரீதியில் சாஸ்திரங்களையும் கொடுத்து அதில் ஆசாரத்தை முதலாவதாக வைத்திருக்கிறான் என்பதை அடுத்த ஸ்லோகம் உணர்த்துகிறது. இத்தனை நாழி நான் சொன்ன ‘ஆசாரம்’ என்ற விஷயத்துக்கு முத்தாய்ப்பு வைப்பதாக அந்த ஸ்லோகம் இருக்கிறது:

ஸர்வாகமாநாம் ஆசார: ப்ரதமம் பரிகல்பதே |
ஆசார-ப்ரபவோ தர்மோ தர்மஸ்ய ப்ரபு-ரச்யுத: ||

‘ஸர்வ ஆகமங்கள்’ என்கிற ஸகல சாஸ்திரத்துக்கும் ஆசாரமே முதலானதாக நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது ஆசாரத்திலிருந்து உண்டாவதே தர்மம்: அந்த தர்மத்துக்குப் பிரபு அச்யுதனான பகவான் – என்று அர்த்தம். அச்யுதன் என்றால் அசங்காமல் ‘ஸ்டெடி’யாக இருக்கிறவன். தர்மம் என்ற அறநெறி ஸ்டெடியாக இருக்க வேண்டியதல்லவா?

ஜீவப் பிரபஞ்சத்தின் ஆசார வழியாய் உண்டாகும் தர்ம நெறியையும் ஜடப் பிரபஞ்சத்தின் சீரான ஒழுங்கையும் இப்படி இணைத்துக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறது. அதாவது நம்முடைய ஆசாரத்தால்தான் நம் சொந்த வாழ்க்கை, நம் ஸமூஹ வாழ்க்கை இவை மட்டுமின்றி லோக வாழ்க்கையே நல்ல முறையில் அமையும். இதை நவீன மனப்பான்மையுள்ளவர்கள் எல்லாரும் புரிந்து கொள்ளும்படி அந்த பகவான், வாஸுதேவன், அச்யுதன் அருள் செய்ய வேண்டும். ஆசாரங்களிலேயே தர்மம் பிறப்பதால் தர்மத்தின் பிரபுவான பகவான் ஸதாசாரம் தழைக்கும்படியாக அநுக்ரஹிக்க வேண்டும். – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள் மொழிகள்

It is the Almighty who has kept the inanimate objects of the Universe under a certain control, subject to a certain code. He has bestowed the Animate Universe with an independent mind which after having fully enjoyed the freedom can strive to discipline its own self with the traditions (aacharams) which find a prominent place in the saastras. This is stated in another sloka of Vishnu Sahasranamam, which is a culmination of all that has been stated on Aachaaram or traditions till now (“Sarvaagamaana Aachara….). Aachaaram or the discipline of traditions is the foundation of all scriptures and virtue is founded from these traditions and Lord Achchuthaa is the Lord of this virtue – so the sloka states. Achchuthan is the one who is steady without any movement – should not virtues be steady? The code of conduct which flows from the traditions in this animate Universe and the steady discipline of inanimate Universe have thus been linked. It is only through our adherence to traditions that not only our personal lives but also the life of the society and that of the world will prosper. Lord Vasudevan should bless the modernists so that they can understand this principle.
