நம் மதத்தின் தனி அம்சங்கள் (பகுதி 2)

நிரந்தர நரகத்துக்கு ஸ்வாமி எவரையும் அனுப்புவதில்லை என்பது ஒரு தனிப்பட்ட பாதிரியாரின் அபிப்ராயம்தான். அதுவேதான் கிறிஸ்துவம் முதலான, ‘ஒரே பிறவி’ மதங்களின் கோட்பாடு என்று சொல்லுவதற்கில்லை. ஒரே ஜன்மத்தில் ஒருத்தன் பண்ணுகிற புண்ணியத்துக்காக அல்லது பாபத்துக்காக அவனை ஸ்வாமி ஸ்வர்க்கம் அல்லது நரகத்துக்கு நிரந்தரமாக அனுப்பிவிடுகிறார் என்பதுதான் அம்மதங்களின் பொதுக் கருத்து, அதிலும் நாம் பொதுவாக பாபமே பண்ணுவதால் நரக தண்டனை பெறுகிறவர்கள்தான் ஜாஸ்தியாக இருப்பார்கள் என்பதால், தீர்ப்பு நாளைக்கே ரொம்பவும் பயங்கரமான பெயர்—Doomsday என்றே வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள். இது பகவானின் கருணைக்குக் குறைவாகத்தான் எனக்குத் தோன்றுகிறது.

நம் மதத்தின் புனர்ஜன்மக் கொள்கைக்கு ஆதரவாக ஒன்றை அழுத்தமாகக் காட்டலாம். வெள்ளைக்காரி ஒருத்தி என்னிடம் வந்து இந்த Reincarnation விஷயத்திற்கு நிரூபணம் (proof) கேட்டாள். நான் அவளிடம் வாதம் ஒன்றும் செய்யவில்லை. அப்போது மடத்து முகாமில் ஒரு பண்டிதர் இருந்தார். அவருக்கு இங்கிலீஷும் வரும். அவரிடம் அவளை அங்கே உள்ள பிரஸவ ஆஸ்பத்திரிக்கு அழைத்துக் கொண்டுபோய், அங்கே பிறந்திருக்கிற குழந்தைகளைப் பற்றிய விவரங்களைக் குறிப்பு எடுத்துக் கொண்டு வரும்படி சொன்னேன். அவளும் அப்படியே பிரஸவ ஆஸ்பத்திரிக்கு அவரோடு போய்விட்டு வந்து குழந்தைகளைப் பற்றிய குறிப்புகளைச் சொன்னாள். அதன்படி ஒரு குழந்தை கொழு கொழுவென்று இருந்தது; இன்னொன்று நோஞ்சானாக இருந்தது. ஒன்று அழகாக இருந்தது; இன்னொன்று அவலட்சணமாக இருந்தது. ஒன்று உசத்தியான ‘வார்டி’ல் சௌகரியமாகப் பிறந்தது; இன்னொன்று சொல்லி முடியாத கஷ்டங்களுக்கு நடுவே ஒரு பரம ஏழைக்குப் பிறந்தது. “ஜன்மாவின் கடைசியில் பகவான் ஒருத்தரை நிரந்தர நரகத்துக்கு அனுப்புவது ஒரு பக்கம் இருக்கட்டும். அது நமக்குக் கண்ணுக்குத் தெரியாத விஷயம். இப்போது பல ஜன்மங்களின் ஆரம்பத்தைப் பிரஸவ ஆஸ்பத்திரியில் பிரத்யக்ஷமாகப் பார்த்தாயே! இதில் ஏன் இத்தனை ஏற்றத் தாழ்வுகள்! ஏன் ஒன்று தாரித்திரியத்திலும் இன்னொன்று சம்பத்திலும் பிறக்க வேண்டும்? ஏன் ஒன்று ஆரோக்கியமாகவும் இன்னொன்று துர்பலமாகவும், ஒன்று லக்ஷணமாகவும் இன்னொன்று அவலக்ஷணமாகவும் இருக்க வேண்டும்? ஜீவனுக்கு ஒரே ஜன்மாதான் உண்டு என்ற உங்கள் மதக் கொள்கையை ஒப்புக் கொண்டால், அவை ஜனிக்கிற போதே இத்தனை பாரபட்சங்கள் இருப்பதைப் பார்க்கிற போது ஸ்வாமி கொஞ்சங்கூடக் கருணை அல்லது புத்திசாலித்தனம் இல்லாமல் மனம் போனபடி கன்னாபின்னா என்று காரியம் செய்து கொண்டிருக்கிறார் என்றுதானே ஆகிறது? அப்படிப்பட்ட ஸ்வாமி கருணை செய்வார் என்று நம்பி எப்படி பக்தி செலுத்துவது? பூர்வ ஜன்ம பாப புண்ணியங்களை ஒட்டிப் புனர் ஜன்மா அமைகிறது என்ற கொள்கையைத் தவிர, நீ பார்த்த ஏற்றத் தாழ்வுக்கு என்ன காரணம் சொல்ல முடியும்?” என்று கேட்டேன்.

அவள் ரொம்ப சந்தோஷத்தோடு நான் சொன்னதை ஏற்றுக் கொண்டு போனாள்.

ஆனால், நவீன காலத்தவர்களுக்கு இந்த விளக்கங்கள் (explanations) போதாது. ஸயன்ஸ்படி ப்ரூஃப் கேட்பார்கள். அப்படிப் பார்த்தாலும் இப்போது ‘பாராஸைகாலஜி’க்காரர்கள் இந்த விஷயத்தில் நிறைய ஆராய்ச்சி பண்ணி ஜன்மாந்தரங்கள் உண்டு என்பதற்கு ஆதரவாக அநேக விஷயங்களைச் சொல்கிறார்கள். உலகம் முழுக்க இவர்கள் சுற்றி வந்ததில் எத்தனையோ இடங்களில் பூர்வ ஜன்மாவை நன்றாக ஞாபகம் வைத்துக் கொண்டு சொன்ன பல பேர்களைப் பார்த்திருக்கிறார்கள். பூர்வ ஜன்மத்தில் இப்போதைய இடத்துக்குத் துளிகூட சம்பந்தமே இல்லாமல் வேறு எங்கேயோ இருக்கப்பட்ட தூர தேசங்களில் தாங்கள் பார்த்தவற்றை நினைவாகச் சொல்கிற பல பேர் இருக்கிறார்கள். இந்த ஜன்மாவில் கொஞ்சங்கூடச் சம்பந்தமில்லாத பலரிடம் அப்போது இவர்கள் சம்பந்தப்பட்டிருக்கிறார்கள். அந்த விவரங்களை எல்லாம் மறக்காமல் சொல்கிறார்கள். இவர்கள் சொல்வது உண்மை தானா என்று பரிசோதித்துப் பார்ப்பதற்காக பாராஸைகாலஜிக்காரர்கள் அந்தந்த ஊர்களுக்குப் போயிருக்கிறார்கள். போனால் அங்கே ஆச்சரியப்படுகிற மாதிரி இவர்கள் சொன்ன அடையாளங்களை, இவர்கள் பூர்வத்தில் சம்பந்தப்பட்டிருந்த மநுஷ்யர்களைப் பார்க்கிறார்கள். இது மாதிரி ஒன்று, இரண்டு அல்ல. ஏகப்பட்ட கேஸ்கள் இருக்கின்றன. நமக்கெல்லாம் முற்பிறவி சமாச்சாரங்கள் அடியோடு மறந்து போய்விட்டன. ஆனால், வெகு சிலருக்கு நினைவு இருக்கிறது. அநேகமாக இப்படிப்பட்டவர்கள் பூர்வ ஜன்மத்தில் இயற்கையாகச் செத்துப் போகாமல் (natural death) அதாவது, நோய் நொடி வந்து செத்துப் போகாமல், கொலை செய்யப்பட்டவர்களாகவோ அல்லது திடீரென்று ஒரு விபத்திலே சிக்கிக் கொண்டு அப்போது மரணமடைந்தவர்களாகவோ இருக்கிறார்கள் என்று ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்கள் சொல்கிறார்கள்.

Our Religion’s Exclusive Features (Part 2)

That God never sends anyone to eternal damnation is a personal opinion of just one particular pastor. It cannot be taken as the general philosophy of ‘single birth’ religions like Christianity.  The common idea of these religions is that in man’s single birth, God sends him to heaven or hell eternally, depending upon his actions and that too, as we generally tend to commit sins more, only people who are adjudged to go to hell will be more and which is why they have even named the judgement day as a scary one — the Doomsday. For me, this appears to be a mar on God’s mercy.

We can show one thing emphatically to substantiate our religion’s rebirth philosophy. A white woman asked me a proof for this reincarnation theory. I didn’t indulge in any argument with her. There was a scholar in the Matam’s camp at that time. He could speak English too. I instructed him to take that lady to the Gynecological ward in the hospital nearby and to take down the details of the newly born babies there. Accordingly, she too went to the hospital with him and fetched me the details of the new born babies. As per her notes, one was chubby while another was thin; one was beautiful and another looked ugly. One was born comfortably in a sophisticated ward and another was born among indescribable pathetic conditions to a very poor woman. “Let the idea of God sending man to hell at the end of his birth, be kept on one side. It’s something that lies above the vision of our naked eye. Now you have seen the beginning of many births in the hospital apparently with your own eyes. Why so many inequalities in this? Why should one be born in utter poverty and another in sheer prosperity? Why one healthy and another weak; one beautiful and another ugly? If we accept your religion’s principle that man has only one birth, then on witnessing so many inequalities right at the time of birth, will it not set us thinking, that God, without any mercy or intelligence, is acting upon things randomly as per His own whims and fancies? How can we show Bakthi towards such a God, believing Him to be merciful?  What reason can be attributed to the inequalities you have witnessed just now other than the karma theory that our present lease of life is decided, depending upon our actions in our previous births?” I asked her.

She happily accepted what I said and went away.

But these explanations will not be enough for modern men. They will ask for scientific proofs. Considering that, people doing Parapsychology have done a lot of research and have come up with matters which substantiate the existence of many births. While travelling all over the world, they have come across so many people in innumerable places, who remembered their previous births well. There are so many people who can recollect things that they had experienced in their previous births in far away places, which are not in any way connected to where they are currently living in. They had had connections in their previous birth with people who have no connections whatsoever in this birth with them. They speak of those details without forgetting even now. In order to check the validity of the details that they give, the parapsychology people have gone to those respective places. Surprisingly, on going there, they have seen the identities, the people who were connected to them in their previous birth. There are not one or two, but so many cases like this. Many of us have forgotten the previous birth’s affairs altogether. But a few remember them very well. Researchers say that mostly such people would not have had a natural death that is they would not have died falling ill or something, but would have been murdered or would have met with an accident and died at that time.
