ரி ஃபார்ம், ரிலிஜன் என்று தனியாகப் போகாமல் நம்முடைய மதத்துடைய ‘நிஜ ஸ்வரூப’த்தின் custodians [காவலர்] தாங்கள்தான் என்கிறவர்களில் இன்னொரு வகையினர் “வேதாந்தா, வேதாந்தா” என்று சொல்லிக் கொண்டு, ஃபிலாஸபியைத் தவிர கர்மாக்களாக இருக்கிற எல்லாமே நம் மதத்தின் சக்கைதான் என்று தூக்கிப்போடச் சொல்கிறார்கள். வாஸ்தவத்தில் ஸாமானிய மநுஷ்யனின் தரத்தை உயர்த்தக் கர்மா இல்லாமல் முடியவே முடியாது. அதனால்தான் வைதிகாநுஷ்டானங்களை விலக்கி விட்டவர்களும் ராட்டையைச் சுற்ற வேண்டும், handicrafts செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று ஓயாமல் ஏதாவது வேலை வாங்கினார்கள். திருப்பித் திருப்பிச் சொன்னதையே, எத்தனை தரம் சொன்னாலும் போதாது என்று, மறுபடியும் சொல்கிறேன்: காரியம், ஓயாத உழைப்பு இல்லாமல் சித்த சுத்தி ஸாத்யமேயில்லை. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்

There is another kind of people who claim to be custodians of Hinduism without branching out as a reformers. Highlighting Vedanta or the philosophical aspect of Hinduism, these leaders discard the rituals or karma aspect of the religion as sheer husk. But, practically speaking, there is no way to elevate the quality of the common man other than by karma or action. It is precisely for this reason that even those reformers who had given up religious practices, emphasized on some kind of action like spinning the charka (spinning wheel) or making of handicrafts.
