December 25th is becoming an important date for me in one way or other. Last year we launched Periyava Radio on this same day. Radio has been going fine with your support and His blessings. This December 25th, we are getting a new domain name  –  mahaperiyavaa.blog!

For the past 9 years, this blog has been running as a free site with WordPress.com. I paid few extra bucks for few features like removing the ads, some premium themes etc. As we’re growing, our storage also grows and we needed some more storage and some additional features. With all this in mind, I have opted for a premium package for a fee per year that gives us some more flexibility – additional storage, uploading / embedding of audio and video files directly. As part of this package, they offered a free domain name too…With this domain name, it seems to help getting some additional web analytics etc – not something I need – but just another feature..
First I hesitated to go for this as I worried if readers would get confused. WordPress confirmed that this is just another way of getting to our blog. I had a choice of choosing the domain name – first I chose Mahaperiyava.blog. Later I decided that our blog is slightly unique in the way of how we write mahaperiyaa with one extra “a” at the end. I chose to stick with the same way.

Doing this change is going to be transparent to you all. Whether you type “mahaperiyavaa.wordpress.com” or “mahaperiyavaa.blog”, it will come to the same place!    So if you type  mahaperiyavaa.wordpress.com” and end up in “mahaperiyavaa.blog”, don’t panic!
