“ஜோதியே சுடரே”

சாட்சாத் ஈஸ்வரரின் திரு அவதாரமாய் ஒரு மாமுனிவரின் திரு உருவத்தில் சுகபிரம்மரிஷி அவர்களின் மேன்மையோடு நம்மிடையே நடமாடும் தெய்வமாய் ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவா அருள்பாலிக்கிறார்.

சாமான்ய பக்தர்களுக்கே தான் சர்வேஸ்வரரே என்பதை உணர்த்தி அருளியிருக்கும் ஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவா, தேவி உபாசகர், ஸ்ரீ வித்யா உபாசகர்களுக்கும் அவரவர்களின் மனோபாவத்திற்கேற்ப தன் சர்வ வல்லமையினால் தன்னை அடையாளம் காட்டியுள்ளார்.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா திருவிசைநல்லூர் என்ற இடத்தில் அருளிக் கொண்டிருந்த சமயம், மகானை தரிசிக்க ஒரு ஸ்ரீ வித்யா உபாசகி அம்மையார் வந்தார். அந்த மாதுவிற்கு இரண்டு கண்பார்வையும் இல்லை.

கருணை தெய்வமான ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அந்த பக்தையை பார்த்ததும் கைங்கர்யம் செய்யும் கண்ணன் என்ற அன்பரை அழைத்து அந்த அம்மையாருக்கு தங்க இடம் முதலானதை ஏற்பாடு செய்ய உத்தரவிட்டார். அந்த பக்தை மிகுந்த ஆசாரமுடையவராக இருந்ததால் கண்ணன் அவர்களையே வேண்டிய ஆகாரங்களை பண்ணி கொடுக்குமாறும் சொன்னார்.

“நானே வந்து தரிசனம் தர்றேன்… கண் தெரியாம அவர் என்னை தேடி வர வேண்டாம்” என்றும் பக்தையிடம் கூறச் சொன்னார்.

அன்பர் கண்ணனும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா சொற்படியே அந்த ஸ்ரீ வித்யா பக்தைக்கு உப்புமாவை பண்ணி எடுத்துக் கொண்டு போனார். பலகாரத்தை கண் பார்வையற்ற அம்மணியின் முன் வைத்துவிட்டு “சாப்பிடுங்கள்” என்று கண்ணன் சொல்லியபடி நின்றார்.

அந்த உபாசகி உடனே அதை உண்ணவில்லை. அதை ஏதோ தெய்வத்திற்கு நைவேத்தியம் செய்வது போல தண்ணீரால் சுற்றினார். பின் தன் மார்பில் கைகளை வைத்துக் கொண்டார்.

மார்பில் பக்தை கைகளை வைத்து எடுத்த போது கண்ணனை ஒரு அதிசயம் திகைக்க வைத்தது. ஸ்ரீ வித்யா உபாசகி கரங்களில் ஒரு ஸ்ரீ சக்ரம் தோன்றியிருந்தது. மறுபடியும் அந்த உபாசகி அதை மறைந்து போகவும் வைத்ததைப் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்த கண்ணன் திகைத்து நின்றார்.

அங்கிருந்து நகர்ந்த கண்ணனுக்கு பிரமிப்பு அடங்கவில்லை. அதுவே மேலும் அவருக்கு ஒரு எதிர்பார்ப்பை ஏற்படுத்தி விட்டது. இப்படி மாய மந்திரங்களை செய்யும் ஒருவர் நம் பெரியவாளை தரிசிக்கும் தருணங்களின் போது சுவாரமஸ்யமான அனுபவங்களை காண வாய்ப்புண்டு என்று அவர் எண்ண ஒட்டமிருந்தது. எப்படியும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா இந்த பக்தைக்கு தரிசனம் அருளும் சமயத்தில் தான் இருந்து பரத்தேயாக வேண்டுமென்று ஆவல் மிகுந்தது.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் போய் அந்த பக்தை தரிசனத்திற்கு காத்திருப்பதாக கூறினார். உடனே அந்த சந்தர்ப்பம் கிடைக்காதோ என்று கண்ணன் எதிர்பார்க்க ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளோ “ராத்திரி வரேன்னு சொல்லிடு” என்று விட்டார்.

கண்ணன் காத்திருந்தார். இரவும் வந்தது. அந்த இருட்டில் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா மெதுவாக நடந்து வந்து அந்த அம்மாளின் எதிரே அமர்ந்தார்.

“நான் வந்துட்டேன்” என்று பக்தைக்கு குரல் கொடுக்கிறார். பக்தை அதை உணர்ந்து நமஸ்கரிக்கிறாள்.

“எதுக்கு வந்திருக்கே” எல்லாம் அறிந்த மகான் அந்த பக்தையிடம் கேட்கிறார்.

“உங்களுக்கு தெரியாததா சுவாமி! எனக்கு இன்னும் ஜோதி தரிசனம் கிட்டும் பாக்யம் ஏற்படலே… அதுதான் வேணும் அதுக்குத்தான் வந்தேன்” என்று பக்தை வேண்டுகிறாள்.

இது ஒருபுறமிருக்க இதை பார்த்துக் கொண்டு அங்கு நிற்கும் கண்ணனுக்கோ என்ன நடக்கப்போகிறதோ, எப்பேற்பட்ட அதிசய அனுபவத்தை ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா காட்டப்போகிறார்களோ என தாங்காத ஆவல் மேலிடுகிறது.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா பக்தையிடம் “நீ கொஞ்ச நேரம் தியானம் பண்ணு” என்றார்.

கண்ணனிடம் திரும்பிய ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா “நான் ஜாடை காட்றபோது எல்லா விளக்கையும் அமர்த்திடு” என்று கட்டளையிட்டார். இப்போது கண்ணனுக்கு பெருத்த ஏமாற்றம். காலையிலிருந்து எந்த சந்தர்பத்திற்காக காத்திருந்தாரோ அந்த சமயத்தில் நடப்பதை காண முடியாதவாறு விளக்குகளை ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அணைக்கச் சொல்கிறாரே என்று நினைத்துக் கொண்டு நின்றார்.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா சைகை காட்ட விளக்குகள் அணைக்கப்பட்டு அங்கே கும்மிருட்டு கவ்வியது. என்ன நடக்கிறதென்று கண்ணனால் பார்க்க முடியவில்லையே ஆனாலும் அந்த பக்தையின் ஓங்கிய குரல் அங்கு ஒரு மாபெரும் அதிசயம் நிகழ்ந்துள்ளதை காட்டுவதாக அமைந்தது.

பக்தை கூக்குரலிட்டு “ஜோதி தரிசனம் கண்டேன் ஜோதி தரிசனம் கண்டேன்” என்று கூத்தாடினார்.

“போதும்! போதும்! காமாட்சி நிறுத்திடு” என்று பக்தை அலருவது போல ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் முறையிடுவதும் கண்ணனுக்கு கேட்டது.

உடனே ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா மீண்டும் விளக்குகளை ஏற்றச் சொன்னார். பிறகு விடுவிடுவென்று அங்கிருந்து புறப்பட்டு சென்றுவிட்டார்.

அந்த நடுநிசியில் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா கண்ணனிடம் அந்த அம்மாளை விடிவதற்குள் ஊருக்கு அனுப்பிவிடும்படி உத்தரவிட்டு சென்றார்.

அந்த பக்தையை ஊருக்கு அனுப்பும்போது கண்ணன் ஆவல் மிகுதியால் “பெரியவா தரிசனத்தின் போது என்னதான் நடந்தது? நீங்க ஏன் அப்படி கத்தினீங்க” என்று கேட்டார்.

“நான் கேட்ட ஜோதி தரிசனம் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா காட்டிட்டா, ஆனா அதை என்னால ரெண்டு நிமிஷத்துக்கு மேலே பார்க்க சக்தியில்லாம நிறுத்தச் சொல்லி கத்தினேன்.” என்றார் அந்த ஸ்ரீ வித்யா உபாசகியான பக்தை.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாள் சாட்சாத் ஜோதி சொரூபமான பரம்பொருளாய் இருப்பதாலேயே, இத்தனை எளிதில் அந்த பார்வையற்ற ஸ்ரீ வித்யா பக்தைக்கு ஜோதி தரிசனம் காட்டி, தன் அதீத சக்தியை வெளிப்படுத்தி அருளியுள்ளார். அதனால்தான் அதை சில நொடி பொழுதும் தாங்க முடியாமல் பக்தை தவித்துள்ளார் என்பதையும் கண்ணன் பூர்ணமாக உணர்ந்தார்.

“எல்லாம் வல்ல” என்பதற்கான உதாரண புண்ணிய மகான் அல்லவா ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவா.

தர்மம் காத்திடும் சீலர் (தரிசன அனுபவங்கள்)

கோபால அய்யர் என்ற அன்பர் ஸ்ரீ மடத்தில் ஊழியம் செய்து வந்தவர். ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் மிகவும் பக்தி கொண்டவர்.

ஒருமுறை அவர் திண்டுக்கல் அருகிலுள்ள சிறுமலையில் ஸ்ரீ மடத்திற்கு சொந்தமான தோட்டத்திற்கு சென்று திரும்பும்போது அங்கேயிருந்து சுமார் ஐநூறு மலை வாழைப் பழங்களை கொண்டு வந்து ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் அன்போடு சமர்பித்தார்.

“மடத்து எஸ்டேட்டில் விளைந்த பழம். ஸ்ரீ பெரியாளுக்காக கொண்டு வந்திருக்கேன்” என்றார்.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அத்தனை பழங்களையும் பார்வையிட்டார். அதிலிருந்து ஒரே ஒரு மலைப் பழத்தை மட்டும் எடுத்து தன் மடியில் வைத்துக் கொண்டார்.

மீதி பழங்களை தங்களுக்கு பிரசாதமாக கிடைக்குமென்று பக்தர்கள் எதிர்பார்த்திருப்பார்களோ என்னவோ ஆனால் ஸ்ரீ பெரியாளெனும் சிவன் போக்கு வேறு விதமாயிருந்தது.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா வாசம் புரிந்த இடத்திலிருந்து எதிரில் முன்னூறு அடிக்கு அப்பால் நரிக்குறவர்கள் கூட்டம் தங்கியிருந்தது. அவர்களுக்கு வீடு என்று ஒன்றுமில்லை. சாப்பாடு, தூக்கம் எல்லாம் மரத்தடியில் தான்.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா கார்வாரைக் கூப்பிட்டார்.

“இதோ பாரு, எல்லா மலை வாழைப்பழத்தையும் எடுத்துண்டு, இங்கே பக்தா கொண்டு வந்து வெச்ச கல்கண்டு, திராட்சை, தேங்காய், பழம், சாத்துக்குடி, கமலா, எல்லாத்தையும் மூட்டையா கட்டிண்டு அதோ இருக்காளே நரிக்குறவாகிட்டே கொடுத்துட்டு வா” என்றார்.

எல்லோருக்கும் ஏமாற்றமும் வியப்புமாக போயிற்று. அப்போது மடத்தில் தங்கியிருந்த அனன்தானந்த சுவாமிகள் என்ற துறவி இதை ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் கேட்டே விட்டார்.

“இது என்ன புதுப்பழக்கம்? இத்தனை பழத்தையும் குறவாகிட்டேயே கொடுக்கணுமா?” என்றார் ஆதங்கத்துடன்.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா மிக நிதானமாக பதில் சொன்னார்.

“நாம் எல்லோரும் நம் கலாச்சாரத்தை மாத்திணுட்டோம். கிராப்பு, டிராயர், ஷர்ட், மீசைன்னு மாறிட்டோம். ஹோட்டல், டீக்கடைன்னு போறோம். சீமைக்கு போறதும் வந்துடுத்து. பாரத கலாசாரமே மறைஞ்சு போயிடற மாதிரி நடந்துக்க ஆரம்பிச்சுட்டோம். ஆனா, ஏழையா இருந்தாலும் நரிக்குறவர்களை பாருங்கோ….அவாளோட சிகை, உடுப்பு, பழக்கவழக்கம் இதெல்லாம் கொஞ்சமும் மாறலை. பரம்பரையா வந்த பாசிமணிமாலை, ஊசி விற்பது இவைகளை அவா விட்டுடலை. கூடியமட்டும் திருடற வேலை செய்யமாட்டா. குறத்திகள் கற்பை காக்கிறவர்கள். அந்த ஜாதிக்குள்ளேயே கல்யாணம். அடுத்த நாளைப் பத்தி கவலைப் படாத வாழ்க்கை, வெட்ட வெளியில் சமையல், சாப்பாடு, தூக்கம். இதுவரைக்கும் அரசியல்ல அவா ஈடுபடலே, சுயநலம், கெட்டபுத்தி எதுவும் வரலே. குடும்பக் கட்டுபாடுங்கறது பாவம் அவா செஞ்சுகிறதில்ல. அன்னன்னிக்கு சாமான் வாங்கி சமையல். எதையும் நாளைக்குன்னு சேர்த்து வைச்சுக்கிறதில்லே. இவா தான் ஒரிஜினல் ஹிந்து கல்சரை இன்னிக்கு வரைக்கும் கடைபிடிச்சுண்டு வர்றா! பழங்கால ரிஷிகள் மாதிரி வாழ்ந்துண்டு இருக்கா”

இப்படி ஹிந்து தர்மங்கள் அழிந்து வருவதை சுட்டிக் காட்டி அதே சமயம் எளியவர்களின் மேலான குணநலங்களையும் ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவாள் எடுத்தியம்பினார். அதில் இப்பேற்பட்ட மகானின் பெருங்குணமும் வெளிப்படலாயிற்று.

பெருங்கருணை தெய்வம் அந்த கிராமத்தை விட்டு புறப்பட்ட பொது நூற்றுக்கணக்கான நரிக்குறவர்கள் வழி அனுப்ப திரண்டு வந்தனர். அரை கிலோ மீட்டர் தூரத்தில் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதித்து திரும்ப போகச் சொன்னார்.

இந்த மேலான தெய்வம் அனுகிரஹிக்க காத்து நிற்க, நாம் கொள்ளும் பக்தி நமக்கெல்லாம் சகல ஐஸ்வர்யங்களோடு, சர்வ மங்களங்களையும் அருளுமன்றோ!

“Oh Jyothi! Oh Light!”

Sri Sri Sri Maha Periyava, an incarnation of Sakshat Parameshwara, who has the greatness similar to Sukha Brahma Rishi, has been amongst us like a sage and blessing all of us.

Sri Maha Periyava, who has blessed His devotees by revealing that He is none other than Sarveshwara, for Devi Upasakas and Sri Vidya Upasakas, based on their mentality, has revealed His identity.

It was during the time when Sri Periyava was camping in Tiruvisainallur. At that time, a lady, Sri Vidya Upasaka came for Mahan’s darshan and she was unable to see through her both eyes.

As soon as Sri Maha Periyava saw that devotee, immediately Mahan called one of His assistants, Sri Kannan and ordered to arrange a place for her stay. As that lady was very strict with her dietary conducts (Achara), Sri Periyava instructed Sri Kannan to prepare the food and give it to her.

“I will come and give darshan to her….She does not have to come for my darshan with her” told Sri Periyava to inform the devotee.

Sri Kannan prepared Ubbuma as per Sri Periyava’s instructions and tool it to that Sri Vidya upasaka devotee. He kept Ubbuma in front of that devotee and stood there requesting her to eat it. But, she did not eat it immediately. She took some water and did something like offering it to God (neivedhyam). Then, she kept her hand in heart.

As she took her hand out, Sri Kannan was stunned to see what happened there. Sri Vidya Upasaka lady had Sri Chakra in her hand. Again, when she made it disappear, Sri Kannan stood there with amazement on seeing everything that transpired in front of his eyes.

Sri Kannan moved out of that place with his curiosity building up. He started thinking that some interesting incidents might happen when this kind of devotee has darshan of Sri Periyava. He decided that he should definitely be there when Sri Periyava gives darshan to her. He went and told Sri Periyava that the devotee is waiting for darshan. Immediately, Sri Periyava told, “tell her that I will come and meet her tonight”. Sri Kannan was waiting for that moment. Sri Periyava, on that night, came slowly and sat before her.

“I have come” told Sri Periyava to that devotee. Immediately, she prostrated before Sri Periyava. “Why did you come?” asked Sri Periyava to the devotee, even though Mahan knew everything. “Don’t you know, Swami! I am still not blessed with Jyothi darshan. That’s what I want and that is why I came” told that devotee.

Sri Kannan’s curiosity is at its peak now thinking about what is going to happen there at that time. Sri Periyava told the devotee, “Do Dhyanam (meditation) for some time” and also instructed Sri Kannan, “When I signal, turn off all the lights.” Now, Sri Kannan felt deceived. He was waiting since morning to see that event but Sri Periyava ordered to turn off the lights.

When Sri Periyava signaled, all the lights were turned off and it was pitch dark. Even though Sri Kannan was unable to see anything, but that devotee’s loud cry made him realize that there was some amazing event has happened. She shouted with lot of excitement, “I saw Jyothi darshan! I saw Jyothi darshan!”

“Enough! Enough! Kamakshi stop it!” she shouted as if begging to Sri Periyava. Immediately, Sri Periyava ordered to light all the lamps and swiftly walked away from that place. In that late night, Sri Periyava instructed Kannan to immediately send her from that place before dawn.

When Sri Kannan took that devotee to send her off, unable to control his curiosity asked, “During Sri Periyava’s darshan, what happened? Why did you shout?”

“Sri Periyava blessed me with the Jyothi darshan that I had requested for! But, I could not see that for more than 2 minutes. So, begged to stop it” told the Sri Vidya Upasaka devotee.

Only because Sri Periyava was none other than the Jyothi swaroopam of that Eswara, He was able to bless that visually challenged devotee with Jyothi darshan. Sri Kannan realized everything that happened on that day. Sri Sri Sri Maha Periyava is an exemplary example of who could do anything and everything is possible.

One who protects Dharma (Darshana Experiences)

Sri Gopala Iyer was working in Sri Matam. He was an ardent devotee of Sri Maha Periyava. Once, when he was coming back from a garden that Sri Matam owned in Sirumalai near Dindigul, he brought around 500 bananas (malai variety) and placed it before Sri Periyava.

“These fruits are from Sri Matam’s estate. Brought it for Sri Periyava” told Sri Gopala Iyer. Sri Periyava looked at all the fruits and took only one banana and kept it with Him.

All the devotees must have thought that Sri Periyava would give it to them as prasadam. But, Sri Periyava’s thoughts were totally different. Around 300 feet away from the place where Sri Periyava was staying, there was a Kurava (nomads) camp. They did not have any house to stay. They were eating and sleep under shades of tree. Sri Periyava called the manager.

“See, take all these bananas. Also, take all the fruits, coconuts, oranges and other fruits that the devotees brought and give it to those kuravas” ordered Sri Periyava.

All the devotees stood there were astonishment. Sri Ananthananantha Swami, who was staying in Sri Matam at that time, asked Sri Periyava, “What is this new habit? Should we give all the fruits to them?”

Sri Periyava responded patiently. “We all have changed our culture and started having haircut, wearing pants, shirts. Also, started eating in hotels, tea shops and also people started going abroad. We started erasing the culture of Bharatham. But, even though they are poor, see these kuravas. They have not changed their costume, hair style. For generations together, they have been selling beads, pins for their survival. They would never steal from anyone. They would get married within their clan only. They never have any worries about the next day. They cook, eat and sleep in any open place and would never get involved in any politics and have got selfish motives or any bad behavior. They buy groceries that day and do not save anything for the next day. They are the ones who strictly follow and uphold the Hindu culture like rishis of olden days”.

Sri Sri Sri Maha Periyava emphasized that the Hindu dharma was dying and also praising the good deeds of even common men. This showed the greatness of Sri Maha Periyava. When Sri Periyava left that village, all those kuravas came for the send-off. Sri Maha Periyava blessed them and asked him to go back to the village.

When Sri Sri Sri Maha Periyava who is waiting to bless all of us, is it not true that our devotion to Sri Periyava would grant us all prosperity and happiness!
