ஒருத்தன் ஸந்நியாஸாச்ரமத்துக்குப் பாத்ரமான உத்தமாதிகாரியாக இருந்தால்கூட, ஏக புத்ரனானால் தாயார், தகப்பனார் ஸம்மதமில்லாவிட்டால் அவனுக்கு ஆச்ரமம் தரமாட்டார்கள்; இப்படியே க்ருஹஸ்தனானால் பெண்டாட்டி பிள்ளை-குட்டிகளை நிர்கதியாக விட்டுவிட்டு வந்தவனுக்கும் எத்தனை யோக்யதை இருந்தாலும் ஸந்நியாசம் தருவதில்லை. அதாவது சொந்தக் கடமையை, குடும்பப் பொறுப்பை விட்டவனுக்கு பாரமார்க்கத்திலேயே மூழ்கிவிடுவதற்குகூட ‘ரைட்’ இல்லை என்று வைத்திருக்கும்போது, ஆத்ம, ஞானத்துக்கு முதல் ‘ஸ்டெப்’ மட்டுமேயான லோக ஸேவைக்காக ட்யூட்டியை, ரெஸ்பான்ஸிபிலிடியை விடுவதென்பதைக் கொஞ்சங்கூட ஆமோதிக்கிறதற்கில்லை. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்
Even if a person is highly suited to become a sanyaasi (to renounce the world), he will not be given permission if he is the only son of his parents and they do not agree. Similarly if a householder seeks to don the ochre colored robes, he will be denied the opportunity to do so if he has abandoned his wife and children. If such a rule is strictly followed even for a dedicated spiritual path (like that of a sanyaasi) how can it be ignored when it is a question of social service or philanthropy, which is just a first step in the quest for spiritual knowledge? – Jagadguru Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Swamigal
