Sri Ravi is not new to this blog. We all know him for his simple and steadfast approach in conducting Atirudram and Jata parayanam for each and every jayanthi/aradhana for Sri Mahaperiyava for the past several years. HH Balaperiyava is consulted for each of the event that is organized and done with His blessings.

This year he has chosen vadavambalam, a maha-kshetram – to celebrate His aradhana mahotsvam. I have given the Tamil article on how Mahaperiyava found this place – very thrilling and interesting. I am sure there is an english version of this article available that someone could help here. I have also given a video of an aradhana event from the past.

I am giving these links for you all to see how this place was before and how it looks now. When Sri Ravi conducts events in each adhishtanams, he ensures that he renovates those places to whatever extent possible. One should be too blessed to be part of such noble activities.

For this year’s jata parayanam, the commitee is going to have roughly 50 vaidheekas.

Hara Hara Sankara Jaya Jaya Sankara!

ஆத்ம போதேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகள் என்னும் 58-வது பீடாதிபதி அங்கேதான் சமாதி அடைந்திருக்கிறார் என்பதை தெரிந்துகொண்ட மகான் அந்த கிராமம் முழுக்கத் தேடி அவரது சமாதியை கண்டுபிடித்தார்.  பிறகு தன்னுடன் வந்த அடியார்களில் ஒருவரிடம் அந்த இடத்தை தோண்ட சொன்னார்.’அகலமாக வேண்டாம், ஆழமாக தோண்டுங்கள்’ என்று கட்டளையிட்டார். மண்வெட்டிஎடுத்து மகான் காட்டிய இடத்தை தோண்டினார் ஒருவர்.  அப்போது அருகில் இருந்த குமாரமங்கலம் சாம்பமூர்த்தி சாஸ்திரி என்பவர் மெய்மறந்து ‘தோண்டாதே தோண்டாதே’ என்று கூச்சலிட்டு அங்கேயே மயங்கி விழந்தார்.  தோண்டிய ஆசாமி திகைத்துபோய் உடனே தோண்டுவதை நிறுத்தினார்.  வெகு நேரத்துக்கு பிறகுதான் அவரது மயக்கம் தெளிந்தது.  மகான் சாம்பமூர்த்தி சாஸ்திரியிடம் மெதுவாக விசாரித்தார்.

‘உடலில் காவி .. கையில் தண்டம். கழுத்தில் ருத்திராட்ச மாலை .. நெற்றி நிறைய விபூதி .. இத்துடன் ஆகாயத்தை தொடுமளவு ஒரு துறவியின் உருவம் என் கண் முன் தோன்றியது.  அவருக்கு முன்னால், ஆயிரக்கணக்கான அந்தணர்கள் வேதபாராயணம் செய்வதைக் கண்டேன்.  ஒரு கட்டத்தில் அவர் மெல்லிய குரலில் ‘தோண்டாதே .. தோண்டாதே’ என்று கூறியது என் செவிகளில் விழுந்தது.  அதையே நானும் சொல்லியிருப்பேன் போலிருக்கிறது.  பின்னர் அந்த நெடிய உருவம் சிறிதாகி மறைந்து போனது! ‘சதாசிவம். சதாசிவம்’ என்று யாரோ ஜெபித்துக் கொண்டிருப்பதைக் கேட்டேன்!’ என்றார்.

அதே இடத்தில்தான் ஸ்ரீஆத்ம போதேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அதிஷ்டானம் இருப்பதை உறுதிசெய்துகொண்ட மகாபெரியவா, 1927-ஆம் வருடம் ஜனவரி மாதம் 17-ஆம் தேதி அதிஷ்டானத்துக்கு பிருந்தாவனம் கட்டி, சிவலிங்க பிரதிஷ்டை செய்தார்.  இப்போது அங்கே வருடா வருடம் ஆராதனை நடக்கிறது.
