சுருக்கமாக வேத தர்மம் என்பது நம்மிடத்தில் இருக்கும்படியான எல்லா சக்திகளும் ஈஸ்வர சக்தியில் துளித்துளிதான். இந்த சக்திகளை ஈஸ்வரனுக்கே அர்ப்பணிக்க வேண்டும். நாவினாலே அவன் நாமாவைச் சொல்வது, மனஸினாலே த்யானம் பண்ணுவது, சரீரத்தாலே பூஜை பண்ணுவது என்று எல்லாம் ஈஸ்வர ஸம்பந்தமாக்க வேண்டும். பூஜை என்பதில் கர்மாவைச் செய்வதும், கடமையைச் செய்வதும் அடக்கந்தான். ஆசார்யாள் முடிவாக உபதேசித்த ஸோபான பஞ்சகத்தில் கர்மாவைப் பண்ணுவதுதான் ஈஸ்வர பூஜை என்று நிர்த்தாரணம் செய்திருக்கிறார். ஸ்வதர்மப்படி அவரவருக்கு ஏற்பட்ட கர்மாவோடு, ஸர்வஜனங்களுக்கும் ஏற்பட்ட ஸாதாரண தர்மங்களைச் சேர்ந்த ஒரு முக்யமான கர்மா இந்தப் பரோபகாரம் என்பது. அதனால் நாக்கால் நாமா சொல்கிறதோடு ஜனங்களுக்கு நல்லதாக, மதுரமாக நாலு வார்த்தை சொல்ல வேண்டும். மனஸால் த்யானம் பண்ணுவதோடு, ‘லோகமெல்லாம் க்ஷேமமாயிருக்கணும்’ என்று ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் நாலு க்ஷணமாவது அன்போடு நினைக்க வேண்டும். சரீரத்தால் பூஜை, ப்ரதக்ஷிணம், நமஸ்காரம் செய்வதோடு கொஞ்ச நேரமாவது வெட்டியோ கொத்தியோ வேறு தினுஸிலோ ஒரு பொதுத் தொண்டு பண்ண வேண்டும். திரவ்யத்தையும் இப்படியே தேங்காய், பழம், புஷ்பம் வாங்குவதோடு தான தர்மத்துக்கும் கொஞ்சமாவது செலவழிக்க வேண்டும். இவற்றையும் ஈஸ்வர ப்ரீதிக்காக ஈஸ்வர பூஜையாக நினைத்தே செய்ய வேண்டும். இதுவே நம் பூர்விகர்கள் போன வழி. அதாவது தெய்வ கார்யம், ஸமூஹ கார்யம் இரண்டில் ஒன்றையும் விடாமல் பண்ண வேண்டும். – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்

Vedic Dharma is that all the powers in us are just expressions of the Universal Power of Eshwara and as such should be offered to Him. Chanting His divine name (Bhagawan Nama), meditating on Him, and worshipping Him with our body ensures that every such act becomes Godly in nature. Worship or Pooja includes performing our duty and karma In Sopaana Panchakam, Sri Sankara Bhagawath Paadaal clearly states that performing one’s duty is nothing but Eshwara pooja. Apart from the duty enjoined upon one by the sastraas, philanthropy or paropakaaram is a duty for all people. So, apart from chanting Bhagawan’s name, one should make people happy with good, sweet words. Apart from meditating on Bhagawan, one should also lovingly pray for universal prosperity. One should not stop with doing worship, or performing obeisance or going in pradhakshina round the temple; some kind of social service which involves physical labour must be performed. Similarly wealth should be spent not only in buying flowers and fruits for the pooja but also in charity. All these philanthropic acts must also be considered as worship of the divine. This was the the path our ancestors practised.
