Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara,
As you are aware, there are many Deivathin Kural sathsangams all over world where Deivathin Kural (teachings of Maha Periyava) is read. The Sathsangam that Adiyen participates is one among them. We initially started this sathsangam way back in July 2009 with three people in Richmond, VA and from then on it has been ingrained in our lives and part of our DNA. Over a period of time, people left Richmond, VA for jobs and various other reasons and now the Sathsangam is completely virtual. Now we have around a dozen devotees attending this sathsangam.
We start with Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara chanting for a minute, read the chapters in sequence, and close with Hare Rama Hare Krishna chanting (5 mins) for Loka Kshemam. With Paripoorna Krupa of Sri Maha Periyava and our Aacharyal’s anugraham we have successfully completed reading all the eight volumes of Deivathin Kural. Needless to say this sathsangam has transformed many of us leaps and bounds from where we were, which I wanted to share with you all so someone else gets benefited by it.
Did we plan to start off with Volume 1 again on this Deepavali day? Absolutely not! Devotees who attend Deivathin Kural Sathsangams know better….It was Periyava’s plan and timing to complete all the previous volumes precisely last week! We are starting off again from Deivathin Kural Volume 1 on this auspicious Deepavali day so if anyone is willing to join, you are very much welcome to do so. We have a couple of folks from Bharatha Desam joining through Skype and other VOIP technologies as well (Non US/Canada can join the bridge through Skype for free).

This is splendid news. What can be greater Satsangam than getting immersed in the words of Mahaperiyava?
As devotees know, Sri Ra. Ganapati did not initially know and could not assess the volume of material available. As he started compiling them. he reached up to 7 volumes , and we understand some more is left out for an 8th volume.
In this process, material on the same subject occurs in almost all the volumes. As these volumes lack index, we have to search through the contents to locate common subjects in all the volumes.
I found that Sri S.V.Radhakrishna Sastrigal compiled and edited material pertaining to Vinayaka from all the 7 volumes and published them separately with permission from Sri Ganapati in 2000. [Published by Simizhi Venkatarama Sastri Trust, Srirangam- available from Agasthiyar Book Depot, Teppakulam, Trichy. The book runs into 282 pages in size 5.5×8.5″,36 lines to a page. This would give an idea of the amount of material available!] In the foreword to this book, Sri Sastrigal gives a clue as to how we may read the words of Mahaperiyava:
So, this gives us an idea as to how we may read the volumes. If there is anyone in the Satsang who had actually heard Mahaperiya’s talks, he might be able to attempt to read in the manner described above!
Another method might be to take up reading subject by subject- from Guru to Hanuman, on which materials lie scattered throughout all the volumes. Or it could be material pertaining to an up coming festival. The job of locating the connected material could be the “homework” for the members!
These are only suggestions, not comments! Sugar candy will be sweet, tasted from any side!
[I had written to the publishers long ago that they might get the volumes rearranged , bringing cognate topics together., on the lines of Vinayaka, as there is such a wealth of material. There was no acknowledgement. They would of course have their own ideas- the book is selling well, and why disturb the arrangement!]
How can i join in deivathin kural thru skype ??
Please help me in that aspect
Thankyou.
Jaya jaya Shankara
