எல்லா பரோபகாரங்களையும்விட உத்தமமானது ஒரு ஜீவனைப் பரமாத்மாவிடம் சேர்க்கிறதுதான். ஆகையால் நாம் செய்கிற நாம உச்சாரணத்தால் அந்திமத்தில் ஒரு ஜீவன் பகவானை நினைக்கும்படியாகப் பண்ணி, அதனால் பகவான் அந்த ஜீவனை எடுத்துக் கொள்ளச் செய்துவிட்டால் அதைப்போன்ற உபகாரம் வேறே எதுவும் இல்லை. கடைசிகால ஈஸ்வர ஸ்மரணை ஜன்மாவை அப்படியே அழித்துவிடாவிட்டால் கூடப் பாவாயில்லை. நிச்சயம் அது பாபத்தைப் பெரிய அளவுக்கு அலம்பி விட்டுவிடும். இதைப்பற்றி ஸந்தேஹமில்லை. பகவந்நாமா மனஸுக்கு உள்ளே ஊறி விடுகிறபோது பாபத்தை நிச்சயம் கழுவிவிடும். ஆனதால், பகவந்நாமாவோடு கண்ணை மூடுகிறவன் ஜன்மாவே இல்லாமல் விடுபட்டு விடுகிறான் என்று வைத்துக் கொள்ளாவிட்டாலும், மறுபடியும் பாபஜன்மா எடுக்கவே மாட்டான்; நல்ல புண்ய ஜன்மாவாக எடுப்பான் என்பது நிச்சயம். புண்ய ஜன்மா என்றால் பணம், காசு, அழகு, உசந்த ஜாதி, இதுகளா?இல்லை இந்த ஜன்மா முடிவிலே வந்த பகவத் ஸ்மரணை விட்ட இடத்திலிருந்து தொடர்ந்து அடுத்த ஜன்மாவிலும் எப்போது பார்த்தாலும் இருக்கும்படியான சூழ்நிலையும் மனநிலையும் கொண்டதுதான் புண்யஜன்மா. அப்படி எடுத்து அடுத்த ஜன்மத்தோடாவது சொந்த முயற்சியினாலேயே ஸம்ஸார நிவர்த்தியை ஸம்பாத்தித்துக் கொள்ள ஒரு ஜீவனுக்கு இந்த ஜன்மத்திலேயே அந்திம நேரத்தில் நாம் நம்மாலான ஸஹாயத்தைப் பண்ண வேண்டும். இந்த மஹா பெரிய தர்மத்தை, ஈடில்லாத உபகாரத்தை, முதலில் சொன்னேனே, வார வழிபாடு, ஜீவாத்ம கைங்கர்யம், மற்ற பரோபகாரங்களுக்காக ஸங்கமாகச் சேரவேண்டும் என்று, இந்த ஸங்கத்துக்காரர்கள் தவறாமல் செய்ய வேண்டும். – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்

The most noble of philanthropy is to pave the way for a soul to reach the feet of Bhagawan. Hence through our chanting of the name of Bhagawan, if we make a soul yearn for the divine and thus move Bhagawan to take it into His fold, we will be doing the greatest charity possible. Even if the divine chanting of Bhagawan Nama at life’s final moments does not deliver a soul from the cycle of death and birth, it will definitely cleanse its sins to a great extent. There is no doubt about it. The divine chant of Bhagawan Nama will definitely purify the heart when it enters the same. The man who dies with the thought of Bhagawan may still be born in this world, but it will definitely be a good birth or Punya janma. Here a good birth should not be interpreted in terms of money, beauty, or a high position. A good birth means the soul will continue its contemplation of the Divine from the point where it left it in the previous birth and the circumstances and the mental outlook (in the new birth) will be conducive towards this. It will also enable the soul to strive for salvation on its own. We facilitate this by chanting the name of Bhagawan to a departing soul in this birth.
