The noble charity which we can perform when a person is on his death bed is paving the way for that soul to reach the feet of the Divine. Due to natural causes, unwanted thoughts may rush into a person’s head when he is ready to leave this world. This is very common. Or he may lose his consciousness. In such a situation, if the people nearby continue to chant the name of Bhagawan, this act will prevent him form being consumed by other pointless thoughts. Even if there is an iota of consciousness, the Divine name of Bhagawan may sharply embed itself in his subconscious mind.
