அந்திமத்தில் பகவானை ஸ்மரிப்பதற்கும் பரோபகாரம் என்ற விஷயத்துக்கும் என்ன ஸம்பந்தம்? ‘மரணம் என்பது ஆத்மாவைக் கொஞ்சங்கூட பாதிப்பதில்லை. உடம்புக்குத்தான் சாவு உண்டு, ஆத்மாவுக்குக் கிடையாது. ஒரு சட்டை கிழிந்தால் அதோடு சட்டைப் போட்டுக் கொள்கிறவனும் அழிந்து போய்விடுகிறானா என்ன? இல்லை. ஒரு சட்டை போனால் அவன் இன்னொரு சட்டையை எடுத்துப் போட்டுக் கொள்கிறமாதிரி ஒரு சரீரம் அழிந்து போனாலும், ஆத்மா அழியாமல் இன்னொரு சரீரச் சட்டைக்குள் புகுந்து கொள்கிறது’ என்று பகவான் கீதையில் (2.22) சொல்லியிருக்கிறார். ‘இப்படி எத்தனை சட்டைகள் கிழிந்து கிழிந்து, இன்னொன்று, அதற்கப்புறம் இன்னும் ஒன்று என்று இந்த ஆத்மா புகுந்து புகுந்து அல்லாடிக் கொண்டிருக்க வேண்டும்? இதற்கு ஒரு முடிவு கிடையாதா?’ என்று கேட்டால், ‘ஞானியாகிவிட்டால் ப்ரம்ம நிர்வாணம் அடைந்து விடலாம். என்னிடமே பக்தி பண்ணிக் கொண்டிருந்தால் என்னை நினைத்துக் கொண்டே உயிரை விட்டால்கூடப் போதும். அப்புறம் இன்னொரு சட்டை போட்டுக் கொள்ள வேண்டாம்’ என்கிறார். – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்

What is the relation between philanthropy and contemplating Bhagawan in life’s final moments? Death does not affect the soul. Only the physical entity faces death. If a shirt is torn, the wearer of the shirt is not destroyed. He replaces his torn shirt with a new one. Similarly, even if one body is destroyed, the soul residing within it finds another body to dwell in. The above statement is made by Lord Krishna Himself in Srimad Bhagawadh Gita (2.22). But one starts wondering as to how many bodies this soul has to occupy and undergo the worldly sufferings. Is there no end to this? Lord Krishna has the answer – “If you attain enlightenment (Gnani) you can merge with the Ultimate Divine – Brahmam.
