ஒருத்தனுடைய கஷ்டத்தில் இன்னொருத்தனுக்கு டெஸ்ட் இருக்கிறது. அதிலே பாஸ் பண்ணினால் ப்ரைஸ் கிடைக்கும். சிலபேர் ரொம்பவும் பரிதாபகரமாக. கேட்பார் யாருமின்றி அநாதையாகச் சாவதிலேயே மற்றவர்களுக்கு ஒரு பரீக்ஷை வைக்கிறான் பகவான். ”இவர்கள் தன்னால் படைக்கப்பட்ட அந்த அத்புதமான சரீர மெஷினை அதற்குள்ள மரியாதை கொடுத்து, ஸம்ஸ்காரம் பண்ணித் தன்னிடம் சேர்க்கிறார்களா?” என்று பரமேஸ்வரன் பார்க்கிறான். பரீக்ஷைக்குப் பரிசு என்னவென்றால் பரதேவதையின் கடாக்ஷம்.

என்கிறபோது, ஓர் அநாதை ப்ரேதத்துக்கு ஸம்ஸ்காரம் பண்ணுவிக்கிறவனுக்கு ஈஸ்வரன் ஓர் அஸ்வமேதம் பண்ணினால் எவ்வளவு புண்ணியமோ அவ்வளவு புண்யத்தை ப்ரைஸாகக் கொடுத்துவிடுகிறார் என்று நேர் அர்த்தமானாலும் இந்த அஸ்வமேதமே அம்பாளுக்கு ஆராதனை என்று ‘த்ரிசதி’சொல்லுவதால் அவளுடைய பரமகிருபையே பலனாகக் கிடைக்கிறது என்றும் அர்த்தமாகிறது. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்

In the suffering of one human being, there is a test to the other. When a person dies all alone, uncared for, it is a test for others, a test conducted by the Almighty. He seeks to know whether we accord the due respect to that wonderful creation called the body, a creation of none other than Parameswara Himself, by performing its final rites. The reward for passing this test is the blessings of the Supreme Mother (Ambal). “Anaada Preda Samskaaraath, Ashwameda Palam Labeth”. The direct meaning of this saying is that by performing the final rites for an unclaimed body, one is rewarded with the fruit of having performed Ashwameda Yagna.
