வெறும் யஜ்ஞம் என்றால் அதற்கென புத்ர ப்ராப்தி, தன லாபம், பதவி, ஸ்வர்க வாஸம் மாதிரியான பலன்கள்தான் உண்டு. இந்தப் பலன்களோடு, இவற்றைவிட முக்யமாக, அநேகக் கட்டுப்பாடுகளோடும், ஐகாக்ரியத்தோடும் (One – Pointed concentration) ஒரு யாகத்தைச் செய்வதால் “சித்த சுத்தி” என்கிற மஹா பெரிய பலனும் ஏற்படுகிறது. ஒரு யாகம் அம்பாள் ஆராதனையாகிற போதோ அதற்குச் சின்னச் சின்னப் பலன்களாக இல்லாமல் ஸகல புருஷார்த்தங்களையும் கொடுக்கக்கூடிய சக்தி உண்டாகிறது. ஸாக்ஷாத் பரதேவதை ப்ரீதி அடைந்தால் எதைத்தான் தரமாட்டாள்? பதவி, பவிஷு, இந்திர லோகம் எல்லாவற்றுக்கும் மேலாக பரம ஞானத்தை, ஸம்ஸார நிவிருத்தியை, மோக்ஷ ஸாம்ராஜ்ய லக்ஷ்மியையே அம்பாள் மனசு குளிர்ந்தால் அநுக்கிரஹித்து விடுவாள். ஆனதால், அஸ்வமேதம் பண்ணிவிட்டால், அதனால் அம்பாளை ஆராதித்ததாகி விடுமாதலால், இம்மை மறுமைக்கு வேண்டியதில் பாக்கியில்லாமல் ஸகல சிரேயஸ்களையும் பெற்று விடலாம். எதற்காக அஸ்வமேதம் செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று முதலில் ஒரு கேள்வி போட்டேனே, அதற்கு இது பதில்.
ஆனால் ஒரு ஸஹஸ்ரநாமம், த்ரிசதி மாதரியானவற்றுக்கு நியமங்கள் இருக்கின்றன என்றால் அஸ்வமேதம் செய்வதற்கோ ஏகப்பட்ட கட்டுப்பாடுகள், ஆயிரம் தினுசான நியமங்கள், கெடுபிடிகள் சொல்லியிருக்கிறது. இந்தக் காலத்தில் இதெல்லாம் ஸாத்யமே இல்லை. ஸரி, அப்படியானால் நாம் அஸ்வமேதம் செய்வதற்கே இல்லை என்று விட்டுவிட வேண்டியது தானா? இல்லை நம் அனைவருக்கும் ஸாத்யமான ஓர் அச்வமேதத்தை சாஸ்திரங்களிலேயே சொல்லியிருக்கிறது. ஜீவகாருண்யத்தின்மேல் செய்யவேண்டிய அநேக பரோபகாரங்களைச் சொல்லிக்கொண்டே போய், அவற்றுக்கெல்லாம் சிகரம் மாதிரி ஒன்றைச் சொல்லி அதுவே அச்வமேதத்தின் பலனை அளிக்கக் கூடியது என்கிறது. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்
A yagna bestows a person with the blessings of progeny or power or wealth. Apart from this, if a yagna is performed with unwavering concentration, it also grants one the greatest possible boon-purity of mind. When a yagna is performed as a humble submission at the feet of Ambal (Mother Goddess) it can endow one with the entire range of Godly blessings and not just minor benefits.When Para Sakthi (Supreme Power) is pleased, the boons She can grant are limitless. Apart from temporal benefits like Power and wealth, She can grant one the Ultimate Knowledge or Gnana, release from the worldly shackles and Supreme Liberation. By performing Ashwamedam, we can please the Mother goddess and benefit from her generosity. This is the reason we should perform Ashwamedam.But there are many rules and regulations for performing Ashwamedam, more than those prescribed for worshipping Ambal through Lalitha Sahasranamam or Thrisathi. It seems impossible to perform Ashwameda yagna these days. Then should we give up? Not necessarily. Our Sastras have shown us a way. A small doubt; is this sentence complete? there seems to be something left unsaid.
அவற்றுக்கெல்லாம் சிகரம் மாதிரி ஒன்றைச் சொல்லி அதுவே அச்வமேதத்தின் பலனை அளிக்கக் கூடியது என்கிறது (சிகரம் மாதிரி ஒன்ru edhu?)
