“பரிபூர்ண பக்தி”

அபார கருணையின் மேன்மையினாலேயே, சாட்சாத் பரமேஸ்வர மூர்த்தி நம்மிடையே சுகபிரம்மரிஷி அவர்களின் உயர்வோடு ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளெனும் திரு உருக்கொண்டு அருளும் மகா பாக்யத்தை நமக்கெல்லாம் அளித்துள்ளார்.

அந்த மாபெரும் பாக்யத்தை உணர்ந்து, மகான் வேறு யாருமல்ல அந்த மகாதேவ சிவனே என பூர்ணமாக அனுபவித்தவர்களுக்குள் திரு. டி. வி. ரமணா என்பவரும் ஒருவர். ஓய்வு பெற்ற குருநானக் கல்லூரி முதல்வரான இவருடைய அனுபவம் இரு வேறு சூழ்நிலைகளில் மகானை இரு வேறு கோணங்களை காட்டுவதோடு ஒரு வரையறைக்கு உட்படுத்திக் கொள்ளாத பெரியவாளின் சிவன் போக்கின் மேன்மையையும் காட்டி நிற்கிறது.

நெல்லூரில் பிறந்தவரான ரமணா 1949-ல் தன் பதினோராவது சிறுவயதில் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் தரிசனம் கிடைக்கப் பெற்றார். இவர் பத்து வயதாயிருந்தபோது இவர்தம் தந்தை மறைந்துவிடவே, கோடா நரசிம்மகாரு எனும் இவருடைய பெரியப்பாவின் வீட்டில் வசித்து வந்தார். நரசிம்மகாரு நெல்லூர் கோர்டில் சப் ஜட்ஜ்ஜாக இருந்து ஓய்வு பெற்றவர்.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா, நரசிம்மகாரு வீட்டிற்கு விஜயம் செய்தபோது தன் பதினோராவது வயதில் தரிசித்ததுக்கு பிறகு 1982-ல் ரமாணவிற்கு கர்நூலில் திரும்பவும் தரிசிக்கும் பாக்யம் கிட்டி இருந்தது.

இடைப்பட்ட 39 வருடங்களில் ரமணாவின் வாழ்வில் பல சோகங்கள். இவர் குடும்பத்தை காப்பாற்றி வந்த பெரியப்பாவும் இறந்தாயிற்று. அப்போது இவருக்கு வயது பன்னிரெண்டு. பல இன்னல்களை கடந்து தெய்வத்தின் அருளால் கஷ்டப்பட்டு முன்னேறி சென்னையில் குருநானக் கல்லூரியில் கணித இயல் விரிவுரையாளராக பணிபுரிந்து கொண்டிருந்தார்.

அந்த சமயத்தில்தான் கர்நூலில் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா விஜயம் என்பதை கேள்விபட்டவர், தன் மூத்தமகன் கர்நூலில் இருந்ததால் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா தரிசனம் செய்ய வேண்டுமே என்ற ஆவல் மிகுந்ததால் தன மனைவியுடன் கர்நூல் புறப்பட்டார்.

பிரத்யேகமாக ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளின் தரிசனத்தை முன்வைத்தே இவருடைய இந்த பயணம் அமைந்திருந்ததை குறிப்பிடுவது சம்பவத்திற்கு ஏற்புடையதாகிறது.

தன் வாழ்வில் அடைந்த இடர்பாடுகளினால் வெறுப்புற்ற மனப்பான்மையினால் ரமணா ஒரு பிராமண சமூகத்துக்குண்டான நெறிமுறைகளிலிருந்து விலகி வாழ்ந்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார். பாரம்பரிய கடமைகளிலிருந்து தவறியவராய் வாழ்ந்தும், கடவுள் நம்பிக்கையை மட்டும் விடாமல் எப்போது தோன்றுகிறதோ அப்போது மட்டும் கோயில்களுக்கு செல்வது என்பதாக இவர் மனப்போக்கு இருந்தது.

இந்நிலையில் ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளெனும் நடமாடும் தெய்வத்தை தரிசிப்பதில் மட்டும் இப்போது இவருக்கு அதீதமான உந்துதல் ஏற்பட்டிருந்தது.

மஹானை தரிசிக்க போவதால் அதற்கு முன்பாவது நித்ய கர்மாக்களான பிராமணர்களுக்கு விதிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும் கடமைகளை இன்றைக்கு மட்டும் செய்துவிட்டு தரிசிக்கப் போகலாம் என்று எண்ணங்கொண்டு புதிதாக ஒரு பட்டுவேட்டியை வாங்கி அதை தரித்துக்கொண்டு நித்ய அனுஷ்டானங்களை செய்துவிட்டு புனிதராம் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளை தரிசிக்க தன் மனைவி, மகனோடு கிளம்பினார்.  கூடவே தன் கையில் எதற்கும் இருக்கட்டுமென்று தான் எப்போதோ படிக்காமல் விட்டுவிட்ட உபநிஷத் புத்தகம் ஒன்றையும் எடுத்துக் கொண்டார்.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா கர்நூல் ஊர்கோடியில் ஒரு மில்லின் உள்ளே அப்போது அருளிக் கொண்டிருந்தார். குடும்பத்தோடு ரமணா அங்கே சென்றபோது சென்ற இரண்டு நாட்களாக ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா யாருக்கும் தரிசனம் அருளவில்லை என்பது தெரியவந்தது.

சற்றுநேரம் காத்திருந்து விட்டு இவருடைய மனைவியும், மகனும் மற்ற கோயில்களைப் பார்த்துவர அங்கிருந்து அகன்றனர். ரமணா மட்டும் கையில் வைத்திருந்த உபநிஷத் புத்தகத்தை பல வருடங்களுக்குப் பிறகு படித்தபடி உட்கார்ந்து விட்டார். தன் அடி மனதில் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா தனக்கு தரிசனம் தரவேண்டுமே என்று உருகி வேண்டியபடி படித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தவருக்கு, உண்மையான தாபத்தினால் கண்ணில் நீர் பெருகியது.

இரண்டு மணிக்கு பிறகு ஆழ்ந்த பிரார்த்தனைக்கு பயன் கிட்டியது. அங்கிருந்த எல்லோரையும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா தரிசித்துவிட்டு பிரசாதம் வாங்கிக் கொண்டு உடனே செல்லுமாறு சொன்னார்கள். பக்தர்கள் வரிசையில் கடைசியாக ரமணா நின்று கொண்டிருந்தார்.

எல்லோரும் தரிசித்தது போல கடைசியில் ரமணாவும் தரிசித்துவிட்டு தன் வழியே திரும்ப சில அடிகளை எடுத்து வைத்தார். அப்போது கைங்கர்யம் செய்யும் ஒருவர் ஓடிவந்து இவரை ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா பேச அழைப்பதாக கூறினார். ரமணாவிற்கு பெருத்த சந்தேகம்.

39 வருடத்திற்கு முன்பு சிறு பிராயத்தில் எப்போதோ கூட்டத்தோடு கூட்டமாக பார்த்த தன்னையா ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா கூப்பிடப்போகிறார்? அப்படியே கூப்பிடுவதாக வைத்துக் கொண்டாலும் எதோ புதிதாக வந்துள்ள ஒரு பக்தரிடம் அவரைப் பற்றி விசாரிக்கலாமென்ற எண்ணத்தில்தான் கூப்பிட்டனுப்பி இருக்க முடியுமென்று ரமணாவின் யோசனைகள் ஓடின.

அப்படியே தான் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளெனும் நடமாடும் தெய்வமும் ஆரம்பித்தார். இவரை எங்கிருந்து வருவதாக கேட்க, இவர் சென்னையிலிருந்து வருவதாக சொன்னார்.

ரமணாவின் சொந்த ஊரைச் சொல்லுமாறு ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா வினவ இவர் “நெல்லூர்” என்றார்.

அப்பாவின் பெயரைச் சொல்லச் சொன்னார்.

அதற்கு ரமணா வேங்கட ஜெகநாதன் என்று பதில் சொல்ல ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் தெய்வீகம் வெளிப்பட தொடங்கிவிட்டது.

“இல்லே உன்னை வளர்த்த இன்னொருத்தரோட பேரு” என்றார்.

“ஓ ஜட்ஜா” என்ற ரமணா அதிசயிக்க ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா “ஆம்” என்றார். தான் வீட்டிற்கு விஜயம் செய்தது நினைவிருக்கிறதா என்று கேட்டு விட்டு ரமணாவின் பெரியப்பாவைப் பற்றி இவருக்கே தெரியாத பல விஷயங்களை சொல்ல ஆரம்பித்துவிட்டார்.

பெரியப்பாவான ஜட்ஜுக்கு இருதாரங்களென்றும் வாரிசுகள் இல்லாததால், ஒரு பையனை தத்து எடுத்துக் கொண்டதை கூறி அந்த பையனைப் பற்றியும் கேட்டார். பிறகு ஜட்ஜை பற்றி விசாரித்தார்.

அவர் கோர்ட்டில் ரைட்டராகத்தான் சேர்ந்ததாகவும் ஆங்கிலேயர் ஆட்சியில் கோர்ட் மாஜிஸ்டிரேட்களுக்கு இவர் பெரியப்பாதான், தன் ஆங்கில புலமையால் ஜட்ஜ்மெண்ட் எழுதி தருவது வழக்கமென்றும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா கூறலானார். இவர் எழுதி தந்ததைத்தான் நீதிபதிகள் வாசிக்கிறார்களென்ற செய்தி பரவி அந்த மாநில கலெக்டர் காதில் விழுந்தது. அது உண்மையா என்பதை கண்டறிய கலெக்டர் முற்பட்டார்.

ஒரு முறை ஒரு சிக்கலான கேஸில் தீர்ப்பு சொல்லும் நாளில் கலெக்டர் இவருடைய பெரியப்பாவை கோர்ட்டுக்கு சற்று தாமதமாக வருமாறு கட்டளையிட்டுவிட்டு கலெக்டர் கோர்ட்டுக்கு போய் உட்கார்ந்து கொண்டாராம்.

மாஜிஸ்ட்ரேட் கோர்ட்டுக்கு வந்து, பெரியப்பா இன்னும் வராததால் மிகவும் படபடப்பாக தீர்ப்பு எப்படி கூறுவது என்று தவித்துக் கொண்டிருந்ததை, கலெக்டர் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தாராம். சற்றே தாமதமாக பெரியப்பா வந்ததும்தான் மாஜிஸ்ட்டிரேட்டின் நிலைமை சுமூகமானதாம். பெரியப்பாவிடம் மட மட வென்று வாங்கி அந்த தீர்ப்பை படித்தாராம்.

இதையெல்லாம் கவனத்தில் கொண்ட கலெக்டர் பெரியப்பாவை மாஜிஸ்ட்ரேட்டிரேட்டாக பதவி உயர்வு செய்தாராம். பிறகு படிப்படியாக உயர்ந்து சப் ஜட்ஜ் ஆன இத்தனை விவரங்களையும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா ரமணாவிடம் விவரித்துச் சொன்னார்.

பலகோடி பக்தர்களுக்கும் ஒரு பக்தரின் பெரியப்பாவின் வாழ்க்கையில் சுமார் ஐம்பது வருடத்திற்கு முன்பு நடந்தவைகளை எப்படித்தான் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளால் விவரிக்க முடிகிறதோ என்ற திகைப்போடு ரமணா ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் அனுக்ரஹத்தால் சுமார் பதினைந்து நிமிடங்கள் கட்டுப்பட்ட பாக்யத்தில் ஆனந்தித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார்.

சென்ற இரண்டு நாட்களாக யாருக்கும் தரிசனம் தராத நிலையில் இவரிடம் மட்டும் இத்தனை நேரங்கள் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா பேசியருளுவதை மடத்திலிருந்தவர்கள் பெரும் அதிசயமாக பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தனர்.

தனக்கு கிட்டிய இந்த பெரும் பாக்யம் தன் பெரியப்பாவின் புண்ணியத்தாலென்றும், மிகவும் மனப்பூர்வமாக பக்தியோடு அணுகினால் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா உடனே பேரருள் புரிவாரென்றும் ரமணா உணரலானார்.

இப்படி தப்பும் தவறுமாக உபநிஷத் படித்ததே தனக்கு இப்படி ஒரு மாபெரும் பாக்யத்தை அளித்துவிட்டதை எண்ணி, அன்றையிலிருந்து தன் வாழ்க்கை முறைகளை மாற்றிக் கொண்டார்.

தொடர்ச்சியாக புகைபிடித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தவர் அதை விட்டு விட்டார். வேதத்தில் மற்றும் சில அத்தியாயங்களை படித்து கற்றுக்கொண்டார். தினமும் ருத்ராபிஷேகம் செய்ய ஆரம்பித்து விட்டார்.

ஏழு வருடங்களாயின ரமணா குருநானக் கல்லூரி முதல்வராகி விட்டார். சமூகத்தில் அவருக்கு பிரத்யேக மதிப்பு ஏற்பட்டிருந்தது.

அப்போது தன் மனைவி மகனுடன் 1989-ல் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் தரிசனத்திற்கு ரமணா காஞ்சிபுரம் சென்றார்.

அவர் மனதில் அவரைப் பற்றி பல உயர்வான சிந்தனைகள். தான் கல்லூரி முதல்வராகி விட்டது…முன்பிருந்தது போலில்லாமல் பூஜைகளையும் நித்ய கர்மாக்களையும் தொடர்ந்து செய்கிறோம். சமூகத்தில் உயரிய அந்தஸ்த்தில் இருக்கிறோம். ஆக, மஹாபெரியவா கர்நூலில் பத்து வருடங்களுக்கு முன் அனுக்ரஹித்ததுபோல் அத்தனை பெரிதாக இல்லாவிட்டாலும், நிச்சயமாக அதே போலவோ சற்றே குறைவாகவோ இச்சமயமும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அருளியே ஆவார் என்று அகந்தையினால் ஏற்பட்ட நம்பிக்கை மேலோங்க அதன் பலனால் மனப்பூர்வமான பக்தியும், பெரியவா தரிசனமென்ற ஆவலும் சற்றே தாழ்ந்த அலட்சிய மனோபாவத்தோடு ரமணா செல்ல நேரிட்டது.

பக்தர்களின் கூட்டத்தில் ரமணா, மனைவி மகனுடன் நிற்க, ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அவர் மனைவியையும், மகனையும் விசாரித்து விட்டு, முகத்துக்கு நேரே ரமணா வந்து நின்ற போதிலும், இவரிடம் பேச விருப்பமில்லாதது போல தன் திருவதனத்தை திருப்பிக் கொண்டார். இதை சற்றும் எதிர்பார்க்காதவராக ரமணா மிகவும் ஏங்கி நின்றார். ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அசையவில்லை.

உள்ளத்திலிருந்து பரிபூர்ணமாக எழுந்த பக்தியோடு பத்து வருடங்களுக்கு முன் தான் சென்றபோது பெருக்கெடுத்த பேரருள் முற்றிலும் நேர்மாறாக இப்படி பெரும் வியப்பாக ஏமாற்றமளித்து விட்டதன் காரணத்தை அவர் ஆராய்ந்த போது அது இப்போது அவர் மனதில் புகுந்துவிட்டிருந்த “தான் எனும் அகந்தை” என்பது தெளிவாகியது. தன் விதியை நொந்தபடி திரும்பினார்.

உள் அன்போடு, சிரத்தையோடு பக்தி செய்வதன் சிறப்பு ரமணாவிற்கு புரிந்தது. அப்பேற்பட்ட சரணாகதம் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் பெருங்கருணையை நமக்கெல்லாம் பொழிந்து சர்வ மங்களங்களையும், ஐஸ்வர்யங்களையும் அருளும் என்பது திண்ணமே.

“Paripoorna Bhakthi”

Sakshat Parameshwara Moorthy, due to His compassion, has blessed all of us by taking the form of Sri Sri Sri Maha Periyava, who is as superior as Sukha Brahmarishi.

Sri. T. V. Ramana is one among many devotees who realized that Sri Sri Sri Maha Periyava is none other than sakshat Parameshwara, Sri. T. V. Ramana, a retired Principal of Guru Nanak college, had experiences in two different situations. Ramana, who was born in Nellore, had darshan of Sri Periyava in 1949, when he was 11 years. Since Ramana’s lost his father when he was 10, he was staying with his uncle, Goda Narasimhagaru. Narasimhagaru was a retired sub-judge from Nellore court.

Ramana had a darshan of Sri Periyava, when He visited Narasimhagaru’s house. After that, Ramana again got the opportunity of getting Sri Periyava’s darhan in 1982, when Sri Periyava was camping in Kurnool. There were lot of difficulties in life for Ramana in these 39 years. Even his uncle who was supporting the family passed away. He was 12 years old then. Even though he faced lot of struggle, by the grace of God, he studied well and became a Mathematics professor in Chennai Guru Nanak College. That is when, he heard that Sri Periyava has come to Kurnool. Since his eldest son was in Kurnool at that time and he also had the longing to have Sri Periyava’s darshan, he immediately started to Kurnool along with his wife.

It has to be noted that the prime motive of his trip was to have Sri Periyava’s darshan. Because of the hatred feeling due to the difficulties he faced in his life, Ramana was not following all the traditions of Brahmin community. Even though he had stopped following all the traditional duties, he did not lose his bhakti to God. He used to go to temple whenever he would feel so. But, now, he was so happy to have darshan of Sri Sri Sri Maha Periyava.

As we was going to have darshan of Mahan, Sri Maha Periyava, he wanted to perform all the daily duties (nithya karmaanushtana) on that day. So, he bought a new silk dhoti, did all his anushtanas and then started for Sri Periyava’s darshan with his wife and son. Along with him, he also brought an Upanishad book, that he stopped reading long time back.

Sri Periyava was giving darshan to all His devotees by staying in a mill at the outskirts of Kurnool. When Ramana reached that place, he came to know that Sri Periyava was not seeing any devotees for the past two days.

Ramana’s wife and son waited for some time and then they decided to go to the temples around and have darshan. But, Ramana waited there and started chanting Upanishad that he learnt long time back. While reading, he had a wish that Sri Periyava should grant him darshan. Because of his true longing, he started crying.

After two hours, his prayers were answered. Sri Periyava instructed everyone to have darshan and leave immediately. Ramana stood last in devotees queue. As other devotees were doing, Ramana too had darshan of Sri Periyava and was about to leave. Immediately, one of Sri Periyava’s assistants came running towards Ramana and told him that Sri Periyava is calling him. Ramana doubted if Sri Periyava called him only.

Would Sri Periyava call him whom He met among a big crowd 39 years ago? Even if Sri Periyava had called him, it would be enquire about a new devotee who came for darshan. These were the thoughts in Ramana’s mind at that time.

Sri Periyava also started enquiring on the same lines and asked where Ramana came from. Ramana responded that he came from Chennai. When Sri Periyava asked him to say his native place, Ramana responded “Nellore”.

Sri Periyava asked to tell his father’s name. When Ramana told that his father’s name is Venkata Jagannathan, Sri Periyava’s divinity started showing up.

“No, tell the name of the one who raised you” asked Sri Periyava.

“Oh, the judge?” asked Ramana with surprise. Sri Periyava responded “Yes” and asked if Ramana remembered His visit to Ramana’s house. Then, Sri Periyava started telling various information about his uncle that Ramana himself did not know.

His uncle, who was a judge, had two wives and since he did not have any children through them, he adopted a son. Sri Periyava enquired about that son and also about the judge. Then, Sri Periyava continued that his uncle joined as a writer in the court and during British rule, due to his English knowledge, wrote judgments for court Magistrate. Collector came to know the news that the judges are just reading his uncle’s judgment. Collector wanted to understand if this news was true.

For one of the complicated cases, on the judgment day, collector ordered his uncle to come late and he went to the court to see the proceedings. Collector observed that the judge was shivering when he came to know that Ramana’s uncle did not come to court yet. When Ramana’s uncle came a little late to the court, judge became normal. He collected the judgment from him and read it out. Observing all these, collector promoted Ramana’s uncle as Magistrate. Then, slowly he became a sub-judge. Sri Periyava explained all these events to Ramana.

Ramana was extremely surprised on how Sri Periyava could remember and explain the events that happened in one of the devotee’s uncle’s life so clearly and was enjoying Sri Periyava’s grace for close to 15 minutes.

Everyone in Sri Matam were startled to see that Sri Periyava, who did not meet any of His devotees for the past two days, was spending so much time with Ramana.

Ramana realized that this good fortune was because of his uncle’s devotion and if we approach Sri Periyava will true bhakti, He would shower His grace. He thought that if Sri Periyava could bless him so much for chanting Upanishad with so many mistakes, he wanted to change his life style totally. He stopped his chain smoking habit. He learnt few chapters in Vedam and also started doing Rudrabhishekam every day.

Seven years passed by. Ramana became the principal of Guru Nanak College and he gained respect in the society. It happened so that Ramana went for Sri Periyava’s darshan in 1989 along with his wife and son. Now, he was having superior complex about himself that he has become a principal of a reputed college and also that he is doing lot of pooja and daily karmas unlike how he used to be in the past. Because of these thoughts, Ramana went to Kurnool that Sri Periyava would definitely bless him. This time, Ramana’s superiority complex was dominant and not the bhakti towards Sri Periyava.

Ramana along with his wife and son stood among the devotees. When their turn came, Sri Periyava spoke with Ramana’s wife and son but avoided Ramana as if He did not like talking to him. Ramana, who did not expect this, stood there eagerly for Sri Periyava’s blessings. When Ramana thought about the reason for Sri Periyava not blessing him as He did 10 years back, he clearly understood that “his arrogance” was the reason and felt very bad about the same.

Ramana understood that one had to do bhakti with love and sincerity. It is indeed sure that if one’s seeks refuge to the lotus feet of Sri Periyava, His compassion and grace would grant all prosperity and wealth.
