‘தேஹம் ரொம்ப இழிவானது. இதிலிருந்து விடுபடவேண்டும்’ என்று பெரியவர்கள் பாடி வைத்திருப்பதெல்லாம் உண்மைதான். ஆனால் இன்னொரு நிலையில் பார்த்தால் இந்த தேஹம் என்பது ஒரு மஹா அற்புதமான மெஷினாக இருக்கிறது. ஒரே மெஷினில் ஒவ்வொரு பாகம் ஒவ்வொரு தினுஸான கார்யத்தைச் செய்கிறது. கண் என்று ஒன்று வெளிச்சத்தையும், வர்ணங்களையும் பார்க்கிறது. காது என்று ஒன்று சப்தங்களைக் கேட்கிறது. இருக்கிறதெல்லாம் ஒரே ஆத்மா – இத்தனை அவயவங்களுக்குள்ளேயும் ஒரே ஜீவன்தான் இருக்கிறது என்றாலும், கண்ணும், காதும் கிட்டக்கிட்ட இருந்துங்கூட கண்ணால் கேட்க முடிவதில்லை; காதால் பார்க்க முடிவதில்லை! பக்கத்திலேயே வாய் என்று ஒன்று அதற்குத்தான் ருசி தெரிகிறது. பேசுகிற சக்தியும் அதற்கே இருக்கிறது. தொண்டையில் பல தினுஸாகக் காற்றைப் புரட்டி அழகாக கானம் செய்ய முடிகிறது. பல வஸ்துக்களைப் பிடிப்பதற்கு ஏற்றமாதிரி கையும் விரல்களும் அமைந்திருக்கின்றன. இந்த அமைப்பு கொஞ்சம் வேறுவிதமாக இருந்தாலும் இப்போது நாம் பண்ணுகிற கார்யங்களைப் பண்ண முடியாது. அடி எடுத்து வைத்து மேலே போவதற்கு வசதியாகக் காலின் அமைப்பு இருக்கிறது. நடக்கிறபோது கூடியமட்டும் ஜீவராசிகள் நசுங்காதபடி, பூரான் மாதிரியானவற்றின் மேலேயே நாம் பாதத்தை வைத்தால்கூட அவை நெளிந்துகொண்டு ஓட வசதியாக உள்ளங்கால்களில் குழித்தாற்போன்ற ஏற்பாடு, சப்பணம் கூட்டி உட்கார வசதியாக முழங்காலில் எலும்பு நரம்புகளின் அமைப்பு – என்று இப்படி ஒவ்வொன்றைப் பார்த்தாலும் பராசக்தி எத்தனை ஸூக்ஷ்மமான கல்பனையோடு ஒரு சரீரத்தைப் பண்ணியிருக்கிறாள் என்று ஆச்சரியமாக இருக்கிறது! – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்

It is true that many of our elders have sung derogatorily about the human body and have stressed the need to be released from it. But viewed from another perspective, this body is a superb machine in which each part performs its role. The eye sees the light and colors, the ear listens to the sounds. Though a single soul pervades the entire body and thus all the bodily parts, the eye cannot hear or the ear cannot see though they are placed close to each other. The mouth which is near the ear and the eye can both taste and talk. The throat manipulates the air to sing. The hands and fingers are designed in such a way as to hold things. Even if one part of the body had been designed differently, the varied bodily parts would have found it difficult to perform their assigned tasks. The feet are designed to walk, taking one step after the other. The arch in the feet ensures that small creatures like worms are not stamped upon when we walk. It is designed very well that some types of worms like “Pooran” can also escape because of the arch in our feet. The bones and nerves of the legs have been designed in such a way that one can easily sit on the floor (by spreading the legs/cross legged).
