புருஷர்கள் சரீர உழைப்பைக் குறைத்துக் கொண்டதிலிருந்துதான் ஆண் பிரஜைகள் பிறப்பது குறைந்து வருகிறது. இப்படிக் குறைந்தால்தான், சரக்கு அதிகம் கிடைக்காவிட்டால் விலை கூடிவிடும் என்ற பொருளாதார விதிப்படி, வரதக்ஷிணை, சீர் என்று பிள்ளை வீட்டுக்காரன் ஏகமாக வாங்குவதாகவும், அதனால் நம் ஸமூஹ தர்மமே குளறிப் போவதாகவும் ஸம்பவித்திருக்கிறது. எக்னாமிக்ஸ்படி கிராக்கியாகி விட்ட ஆணுக்கு dowry கொடுப்பதென்பது நம் மதத்துக்கே ஹானியில் கொண்டு விட்டிருக்கிறது. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்
Men no more labor physically and this has resulted in the reduction of male progeny. As a direct consequence of this and on the basis of the law of demand and supply, groom’s parents have started making exorbitant demands of dowry resulting in our social dharma (principles) becoming tattered.
