பெண்கள் பகலில் ஒழிவு இருக்கிறபோது சேர்ந்து நல்ல மத நூல்களைப் படித்து மற்ற ஸ்திரீகளுக்குச் சொல்லிக் கொடுக்கலாம். ஸம்ஸ்கிருதத்திலும் தமிழிலும் நமக்கு இருக்கிற ஸ்தோத்ரங்கள் யதேஷ்டம். பெண்கள் ஒன்று சேர்ந்து இவற்றைப் பாடம் பண்ணலாம். மடம், கோயில் மாதிரியானவற்றுக்கு சுத்தமான மஞ்சள் குங்குமம் பண்ணிக் கொடுக்கலாம்.

ஸ்வாமி தீபத்துக்கு அகத்திலேயே சுத்தமாக வெண்ணெய் காய்ச்சி, பசும் நெய் எடுத்துத் தரலாம். முனைமுறியாத அக்ஷதைகள் பொறுக்கி அனுப்பி வைக்கலாம். ”அக்ஷதை” என்றாலே ”முறியாதது” என்று அர்த்தம். ஆனால் இப்போது மந்த்ராக்ஷதை என்று போடுவதில் பாதி நொய் மாதிரி தூளாகத்தானே இருக்கிறது? மந்த்ராக்ஷதை முழுசாக இருந்தால்தான் அதனால் மங்களம் கிடைக்கும். எங்கிருந்தோ. ‘டின்’னில் அடைத்து வருகிற நெய்யில் ஏதாவது கொழுப்புக் கலந்திருந்தால், அதை ஸ்வாமி தீபத்துக்குப் போடும் போது உத்தேசித்த க்ஷேமம் உண்டாகாமலே போய்விடும். நான் கேள்விப்பட்டிருக்கிறேன்: முன்பெல்லாம் யாராவது ஒரு ஹோமம், யஜ்ஞம் என்று செய்தால் விரோதிகள் அதை நிஷ்பலனாக்குவதற்கு ஒரு தந்திரம் பண்ணுவார்களாம். அதாவது ஹோமம் பண்ணுகிறவனிடம் ரொம்பவும் ஸ்நேஹம் வந்துவிட்டது போல் நடிப்பார்களாம். ‘ஹோமத்துக்கு நாங்கள் நெய் கைங்கர்யம் செய்கிறோம்’ என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டு நெய்யில் கொஞ்சம் பன்றிக் கொழுப்பைக் கலந்து கொடுத்துவிடுவார்களாம். அவ்வளவுதான்! இந்த மாதிரி அசுத்த நெய்யினால் ஹோமம் பண்ணினால் பண்ணுகிறவர்களுக்கு நல்ல பலன் கிடைக்காமல் போய்விடும் என்பதோடு, விபரீத பலன் வேறு உண்டாகும். ஹோமம் அல்லது ஸ்வாமி தீபத்துக்கான நெய், மந்த்ராக்ஷதை, குங்குமம் முதலியவை சுத்தமாக இருக்கவேண்டும். இவற்றில் கடைச் சரக்குகளை நம்புவதைவிடப் பெண்கள் சேர்ந்து கைங்கர்யமாகச் செய்தால் ச்லாக்யமாக இருக்கும். – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்

Ladies can read good religious books in their leisure and teach it to other ladies. Shlokas in Sanskrit and Tamizh are plenty and these can also be taught to others. Pure Kumkumam can be prepared and given to temples and Sri Matams. Cow ghee can be extracted at home and given to temples to light lamps. Akshathai (Holy rice used in Poojas) has to have unbroken ends. Such grains can be sorted out, keeping the true meaning of Akshathai in mind (Akshathai meaning unbroken).  Nowadays, many grains in the Akshathai are broken and using them will not be fully beneficial. Similarly, if there is some other fat mixed with the tinned ghee, the desired blessing cannot be obtained, when it is used to light the lamp before God. In olden days, when people wanted to disrupt a homam or yagnam, they used to mix pig fat with the ghee and give it for the Homam under the guise of contributing to it. This would ensure that the purpose of the Homam is defeated. Similarly if Homam is performed with adulterated ghee, it may create harmful effects, leaving aside the fact those benefits are denied. Articles like Kumkumam, Manthra Akshathai, and ghee must be pure and not adulterated.
