“நாங்கள் ‘ரிடையர்’ ஆன கிழங்களாச்சே! தொழிலை விட்டு விட்டவர்களாச்சே! எங்களால் என்ன உதவி பண்ண முடியும்?” என்கிறீர்களா? உங்களால் முடியாதா? உங்களால்தான் ஜாஸ்தி முடியும் என்று உங்களைத்தான் இத்தனை நாழி எதிர்பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தேன். நீங்கள் உங்களைப் பட்டுப் போன மரம் என்று நினைக்க வேண்டாம். மனஸ் வைத்தால் நீங்கள் தான் இந்த தேசத்தை தேவலோகமாக்கக் கூடிய கல்பக வ்ருக்ஷங்கள் என்று நான் நினைக்கிறேன். தெய்வ பலத்தை தனக்காக இல்லாமல், உலகத்துக்காகச் செய்தால் கிழத்தனத்தின் பலஹீனமும் ஓய்ச்சலும் இல்லாமல் யுவர்களைவிட உத்ஸாஹமாகப் பண்ணலாம். கிழவன் நானே சொல்கிறேன்.

மற்றவர்கள் ஆஃபீஸ் காரியம் போக மிஞ்சிய கொஞ்சம் போதில்தான் பொதுத்தொண்டு பண்ண முடியுமென்றால் ரிடையரான நீங்களோ புல் டைமும் ஸோஷல் ஸர்வீஸ் பண்ணுகிற பாக்யம் பெற்றிருக்கிறீர்கள். ஆஃபீஸுக்குப் போய்வந்த காலத்தில் உங்களுக்குக் குடும்ப பொறுப்பும் அதிகம் இருந்தது. இப்போது அதுகளைக் கூடியவரையில் குறைத்துக் கொள்ள வேண்டும். அநேகமாக ரிடையர் ஆகிற வயஸில் ஒருத்தனுக்கு நேர் பொறுப்பு உள்ள பிள்ளைகளின் படிப்பு, பெண்ணின் விவாஹம் முதலான கார்யங்கள் முடிந்திருக்கும்.அதற்கப்புறமும் பேரன் படிப்பு, பேத்தி கல்யாணம் என்றெல்லாம் இழுத்துப் போட்டுக் கொண்டேயிருந்தால் அதற்கு முடிவே இருக்காது. –ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்

Do not feel useless if you are a retired person. In fact, you can perform more service to the society than the persons in their prime. Do not consider yourselves to be a withered tree. You are like the divine Kalpaka Vruksha, which can grant anyone the boons they desire. If you divert the divine strength to service and not utilize it for your own self, you can do things with more enthusiasm than the youth. This is the assurance given by an old man like me.

Others have time to perform social service only after their office hours. But you are fortunate in that you can utilize your entire time for social service. When you were in service, you would have been burdened with family responsibilities. Now they would have been reduced. Direct responsibilities towards your sons’education or daughters’ marriages would be fulfilled by now.
