அப்படியா? எனக்கா குடுத்திருக்கா? எங்கே அது?” (பயபக்தியுடன் செய்த லட்டுகள்)

காஞ்சி மகானின் கருணை உள்ளம் புத்தகத்திலிருந்து

புதிய தட்டச்சு-வரகூரான் நாராயணன்

மகா பெரியவா என்ன சாப்பிடுவார் என்று மடத்தில் உள்ளவர்கள் பலருக்கும்
தெரியாது என்று சொன்னார்கள். அவர் உணவு உட்கொள்வதையும் அநேகமாக யாரும்
பார்த்ததில்லை.

அவருக்கு சமையலே தனி.அதனால் வெளியாட்கள் யார் கொண்டு
வருவதையும் அவர்
ஏற்றுக்கொள்வதில்லை. மடத்தினர் அதற்கு அனுமதி கொடுப்பதும் இல்லை.

பழங்களை மட்டுமே அவர் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளும் வழக்கம்.அதையும் அவர்
முன்னால்தான் வைக்க வேண்டும்.அவராக விரும்பி பக்தர்களுக்குப்
பிரசாதமாக அப்பழங்களை அவ்வப்போது வழங்குவதுண்டு.சேலம் பெரியவா
கிரகத்தைச் சேர்ந்த திரு.ராஜகோபால் தம்பதி, அப்போது மேட்டுப்பாளயத்தில்
இருந்த சமயம். திரு.ராஜகோபாலுக்கு அங்கே காப்பி போர்டிலே வேலை.
அவர்கள் குடியிருந்த வீட்டிற்கருகில் ஒரு கௌடா குடும்பத்தினரும் இருந்தனர்.
அவ்வீட்டு மக்களுக்கு மகா பெரியவா மீது அளவு கடந்த பக்தி. மாதம் ஒரு
தடவை காஞ்சிக்குச் சென்று வரும் ராஜகோபால் தம்பதி, ஊருக்கு வந்தவுடன்
அந்த மகானைத் தாங்கள் நேரில் தரிசித்ததையும்,அவரது அருளை விரும்பி
வேண்டிப் பெற்றதையும் கதை கதையாய் சொல்வார்கள்.

இப்படி பிறர் சொல்லக் கேட்டே தங்களது மகாபெரியவா பக்தியை
வளர்த்துக் கொண்ட அந்த தம்பதியினர், அந்த மகானுக்குத் தாங்கள் ஏதாவது
செய்ய வேண்டும் என்கிற தீராத ஆசையை மனதிற்குள் வளர்த்துக்
கொண்டார்கள்.

அதனால் ஒருதடவை ராஜகோபால் தம்பதியர் காஞ்சிக்குப் புறப்பட்டபோது
அவர்கள் கையில்ஒரு தூக்கைக் கொடுத்து “இதில் நாங்கள் பயபக்தியுடன்
செய்த லட்டுகள் இருக்கின்றன. இதை அந்த மகானுக்கு அர்ப்பணியுங்கள்”
என்றார்கள். இதைப் போன்ற வெளியாட்கள் கொண்டு வரும் எதையும்
பெரியவா ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளமாட்டார் என்று கீதா எவ்வளவோ
சொல்லியும்அவர்கள் ஏற்றுக் கொள்வதாக இல்லை.பிடிவாதமாக அதை
எடுத்துக் கொண்டு போகச் சொல்லிவிட்டார்கள்.

காஞ்சி மடத்தின் பழக்க வழக்கங்களை இவர்கள் நன்றாக அறிந்தவர்கள்.
யாருக்கும் தெரியாமல் லட்டுவை  பெரியவாளிடம் சமர்ப்பிக்க முடியாது..
மடத்தில் எத்தனை கைகளைத்தாண்டி இந்த தூக்கு பெரியவாளிடம்
போகவேண்டும்?.

கௌடா தம்பதிகள் பிடிவாதமாக இருந்த காரணத்தினால் தூக்குடன்
காஞ்சிக்கு வந்தார்கள். மகானின் தரிசனம் எல்லாம் முடிந்தது.

இந்தத் தம்பதியரை மட்டும் அன்போடு விசாரிப்பது மகானின் வழக்கம்.
கௌடர்கள் விஷயத்தை அவரிடம்எப்படிச் சொல்வது? மடத்திற்குள்ளே
அதைக் கொடுத்திருந்தால் நிச்சயமாக பெரியவாளின் பார்வைக்கே வராது.
அதனால் அதைத் தங்கள் பையிலேயே வைத்திருந்தார்கள்.

சொல்ல வாயெடுப்பதற்குள் கீதா மாமியின் ‘நா’ வறண்டு போயிற்று.

“எங்க வீட்டுப் பக்கத்திலே கவுண்டர் குடும்பம் ஒண்ணு இருக்கு….” என்று
அந்த மாமி ஆரம்பிக்கும்போதே மகான் இடை மறித்தார்.

“அவா கவுண்டர் அல்ல…கௌடாஸ்..ஊட்டி, மேட்டுப்பாளையம் பக்கம்
அவா நிறைய இருக்கா.சரி….அவாளுக்கு என்ன?” அவரே ஆரம்பித்துக்
கொடுக்க, மாமிக்குக் கொஞ்சம் தைரியம் வந்தது. தட்டித் தடுமாறி
இந்த லட்டு விஷயத்தை மெதுவாகச் சொல்லி முடித்தார்,
“அப்படியா? எனக்கா குடுத்திருக்கா? எங்கே அது?” என்று அவர்
கேட்கவும்…..

கீதா மாமி தன் பையிலிருந்து அந்தத் தூக்கை எடுத்து மகானின் முன்னால்
வைக்க, அதை எடுத்து தன் அருகில் வைத்துக்கொண்டார்.

“அவாளுக்கு என் பேர்ல பக்தி ஜாஸ்தி” என்று சொல்லி முடித்தார்.

General perception is ,  many  people in the Sri Matham service never knew ” What Maha periava eats “.

Rarely any body had seen Him taking food. The items cooked for Him are different. Hence He never accepts any food items brought by outsiders. The Sri Matham service  members  also  do not allow for this.

Fruits are the only items accepted by His Holiness, that too  placed  in front of Him. On His own , now and then , He gave these fruits as prasadham to devotees .

Sri. Rajagopal with his wife from Salem Mahan’s home  was staying that time at Mettuppalayam.  He was serving there under coffee board.

There was a Gowda family near their residence. Everybody in Gowdas house were extremely devoted to H H Mahaperiava. The couple “Rajagopals” every month after their visit to Kanchi described  in the form of stories , the way in which they had dharshan and how on their own seeking , were blessed by His Holiness.

The Gowda couple only on hearsay ,gradually stepped up  their devotion to Mahaswamy and the greatest desire in their mind was to present something precious to the great Mahan.

Once when Rajagopal and his wife were leaving to Kanchi, they brought a closed vessel with  hanging handle ,gave to the couple and requested.    “. In this vessel mixed with our great devotion , we have kept Laddus (small ball shape dry sweet made of sugar and flour) . Please dedicate this with Bakthi to the Mahan. Gita explained to them in many words that in the Mutt , H H never accepted these types of items brought  from out side. However Gowdas were stubborn and insisted that this is to be taken.

Rajagopal family knew the system followed in the Kanchi Mutt. They can not present the Laddus to Periava without anybody’s knowledge. How many hands through which this is to be transferred before the vessel  is to reach Periava’s notice.?

Because of the stubbornness of ‘Gowdas ‘ they came to Kanchi with this vessel.The dharshan was also completed.

Mahan had the habit of enquiring this couple with special kindness.

” How to inform H H about the matter with respect to Gowdas ”  If it was given directly under Mutt’s care, it won’t come even to the notice of H.H. Hence they kept it in the bag itself.

Even before spilling out the words Geetha  mami’s  tongue got  dried up .

“There is a Gounder family near our house ” , before madam could start talking , The Mahan intercepted.

They are not Gounders . They are Gowdas. In Ooty and Mettuppalayam area there are many families. O.K. What’s for them ?

Periava initiated the conversation.

Madam ( Mami) encouraged by this, started with lot of hesitancy informed about the Laddu matter.

” Is it so? Have they given to me ? Where is it ?  as the words were spelt out by H.H. Geetha Mami took the vessal from the bag and placed it in front of Mahan. His Holiness took the vessal and kept by His side His Holiness completed with the words ” They ( Gowda family) have unfathomed  devotion to me.”
