“என் அம்மாவுக்குப் புத்தி ஸ்வாதீனம் இல்லை”
(“தாயார் என்பவள் தெய்வம். தாயாருக்கு மேல் தெய்வமில்லை; ஏகாதசிக்கு மேல் விரதமில்லை
என்று பழமொழியே உண்டு.”)

“என் அம்மாவுக்குப் புத்தி ஸ்வாதீனம் இல்லை. வாசற்கதவைத் திறந்தபடி போட்டு விட்டு எங்காவது
போய்விடுகிறாள். அப்புறம் தேடிக் கண்டுபிடிக்க வேண்டியிருக்கு. வீட்டில் வேறு யாரும் இல்லை….
அவளை மடத்திற்குக் கொண்டு வந்து விட்டு வைக்கலாமா” என்று முறையிட்டார் கோபாலன்
என்ற பக்தர்.
“நல்லவேளை…எங்கேயாவது காட்டிற்குக் கொண்டு போய்,விட்டு விடலாமா என்று கேட்காமல்,
என்னிடம் கொண்டு வந்து விட்டுவிடலாமா?- என்று கேட்கத் தோன்றியதே உனக்கு!”
“தாயார் என்பவள் தெய்வம். தாயாருக்கு மேல் தெய்வமில்லை; ஏகாதசிக்கு மேல் விரதமில்லை
என்று பழமொழியே உண்டு.”
“தாயார்கள் பாடு இம்மாதிரி ஆயிடுத்து!…..” என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டே உள்ளே சென்று,
சிறிது நேரம் கழித்து வெளியே வந்தார்கள்.
அதற்குள் கோபாலனின் மனம் படாத பாடு விட்டது. பெரியவாளிடம் அபசாரப்பட்டு விட்டோமோ”
அதனால், மேலும் அதிகக் கஷ்டங்கள் வருமே? என்ற கவலையும் வந்தது.
பெரியவா திரும்பி வந்ததும் மறுபடியும் காலில் விழுந்தார் கோபாலன்.
“ரொம்ப மன்னிக்கணும் பெரியவா, என் தாயாரைப் பற்றி தவறுதலா சொல்லிட்டேன்” என்று கெஞ்சினார்.
பெரியவா சாந்தமாக அறிவுரை சொன்னார்கள்.
“வயோதிக காலத்தில் பெற்றோர்களைக் காப்பாற்ற வேண்டியது பிள்ளைகளின் கடமை.தாய்-தந்தையர்
சாபம் கொடுத்தால் குடும்பம் வீணாகப் போயிடும். தனியாக உன்னால் உன் அம்மாவைக் கவனித்துக்
கொள்ள முடியவில்லைன்னா, ஒரு ஆசாமியை ஒத்தாசைக்கு வெச்சுக்கோ.”
“பெரியவா கட்டளையை மீறமாட்டேன்” என்று கூறி பிரசாதம் பெற்றுச் சென்றார், கோபாலன்.

“My mother is not mentally stable”
(“There is a proverb too that says ‘Mother is God. There is no God above Mother. There is no vratham above Ekadashi’”)
“My mother is not mentally stable. She goes away somewhere by keeping the door open. We have to search and find her. There is no one else in house. Can she be brought to Mutt and be allowed to stay here”, requested a devotee named Gopalan.
“How fortunate, instead of asking whether to send her to any forest or somewhere else, you thought of asking whether you can bring her to me?” told Periyava.
There is a proverb too that says ‘Mother is God. There is no God above Mother. There is no vratham above Ekadashi’”.
“This is the sad state for all mothers” saying this Periyava went inside and came out after some time.
By then, Gopalan’s became extremely restless. “Did we commit a major mistake with Periyava? Because of that, will we get more trouble?” he started worrying.
When Periyava came back, Gopalan prostrated again. “Periyava, please pardon me! I told bad about my mother”, he pleaded.
Periyava calmly advised. “It is the duty of children to take care of their parents in their old age. If parents curse, family will be ruined. If you are unable to take care of your mother all by yourself, have an assistant to help you”.
Gopalan then told, “I will not break Periyava’s orders”. He collected prasadams and left.

நல்ல அறிவுறை கொடுத்தார்கள். இதனை அவரின் ஆணையாளர் ஏற்று, நாம் அனைவரும் அவர் கூறிய படியே பெற்றோரை காப்பதும் தான், உண்மையான பெரியவா பக்தர்கள்.
When I read the above incident, tears roll on my cheeks. How cruel the children now a days towards parents, who sacrificed their entire life for these children. I saw so many people of this sort, who want to live alone with only wife and children, leaving parent(s) aside or at home for aged people. May God bless those children!
