யோகம், ஞானம் என்று ஜனங்களையே விட்டுவிட்டு எங்கேயோ குகையில் உட்கார்ந்துகொண்டு மூக்கைப் பிடித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறானே அவன் கதை என்ன? ‘இப்படிப்பட்டவனுக்கு பிக்ஷை போடாதே. அவன் ஸோஷல் ஸர்வீஸ் என்ன செய்கிறான்? ஸமூஹத்தைப் பிடுங்கி தின்கிறான் (parasite) என்றெல்லாம்கூட இந்த நாளில் கோஷம் போடுகிறார்கள். இப்படி நினைப்பது முழுப் பிசகு. ஒவ்வொரு ஜீவனும் தன் மனஸை சுத்தப்படுத்திக்கொண்டு, அதை ஈஸ்வரனோடு ஈஸ்வரனாகச் சேர்த்துக் கறைக்கிற அளவுக்கு உயர்வதற்காகப் பாடுபடத்தான் வேண்டும். மற்ற ஜீவராசிகளுக்குச் செய்கிற பரோபகாரங்கூட அவர்களையும் கடைசியில் இப்படி ஆத்மார்த்தமாக உயர்த்தாவிட்டால், அத்தனை உபகாரத்தாலும் ப்ரயோஜனம் ஒன்றுமில்லை. ஆகையினால் நம்மில் ஒருத்தன் அப்படி உயரப் பாடுபடுகிறான் என்றால் அதுவே நமக்கு ஸந்தோஷம் தரத்தான் வேண்டும். நம் மாதிரி ஸம்ஸாரத்தில் உழன்றுகொண்டு கஷ்டப்படாமல், இதிலிருந்து தப்பிக்கிறதற்கு ஒரு தீரன் முயற்சி பண்ணுகிறான் என்றால் அவனைப் பார்த்து நாம் பெருமைதான் படவேண்டும். அவனுடைய சரீர யாத்திரை நடப்பதற்கு அத்யாவச்யமான ஸஹாயத்தை நாம் செய்து கொடுக்கத்தான் வேண்டும். அப்புறம் அவன் நல்ல பக்குவம் அடைந்து யோக ஸித்தனாக, அல்லது பூர்ண ஞானியாக ஆகிவிட்டான் என்றால், அதன்பின்னும் அவன் கார்யத்தில் ஸோஷல் ஸர்வீஸ் என்று பண்ணவே வேண்டாம். தன்னாலேயே அவனிடமிருந்து ஜனங்களின் தாபங்களையெல்லாம் தீர்க்கிற சக்தி வெளிப்படும்; radiate ஆகும். ஜனங்களின் மனஸுக்குத் தாப சாந்தி உண்டாக்குவதை விடப்பெரிய ஸமூஹ ஸேவை எதுவும் இல்லை. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்

Nowadays, there is a hue and cry about helping those mendicants and holy men who are completely immersed in spiritual pursuits. He is accused of being a parasite, not performing any social service. This attitude is totally wrong. Every living being should attempt to cleanse its heart and strive for ultimate confluence with the divine. If all the charities we perform, do not help the people to progress in this direction, then these charities are of no use. So, when one among us is seeking spiritual heights, we should feel happy and proud that at least one person is trying to extricate himself from the material shackles. We are duty bound to help him in his physical journey. When he has attained the sublime status of a Yogi or the enlightened being, then he need not perform any social service. The very divine power that radiated from him will mitigate the yearnings and sufferings of the people.
