வாயினால் உன்னைப் பரவிடும் அடியேன் படுதுயர் களைவாய் பாசுபதா பரஞ்சுடரே!

“ஈர்த்து ஆட்கொள்ளும் அருள்”

சுகபிரம்மரிஷியை ஒத்த மேன்மையோடு இவ்வுலகில் சாட்சாத் பரமேஸ்வரரே ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவாளின் திருஉருகொண்டு நமக்கெல்லாம் அருள் பொழிகிறார், தான் அந்த பரமேஸ்வரரின் அவதாரமே என்பதை எத்தனைத்தான் மறைந்துக் கொண்டாலும், அதையும் மீறி அவருடைய அபார கருணையின் வெளிப்பாடு ஸ்ரீ மகானை அடையாளம் காட்டிய சம்பவங்கள் ஏராளம்.

கர்நாடகாவில் ஒரு பெரிய மருத்துவர். ஏழைகளுக்கு பிரத்யேகமாக இலவசமாக மருத்துவம் செய்யும் புனித சேவை செய்து கொண்டிருந்தார். ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவாளை அவர் அறியும் வாய்ப்பு கிட்டாமலிருந்தது.

அவர் வாழ்வில் ஒரு அற்புத நிகழ்ச்சியால் ஸ்ரீ மகா பெரியவாளின் அருள் வலிய அவரை ஆட்கொண்டது. ஒரு முறை அவர் தன் மனைவி குழந்தையோடு ஒரு நெடுஞ்சாலை வழியே இரவில் காரில் செல்ல நேர்ந்தது. திடீரென்று பலத்தமழை ஆரம்பித்துவிட்டது. மழை இருட்டில் கார் செல்லும் பாதைக் கூட தென்படவில்லை. கார் ஓட்டுவது மிகவும் கடினமாகவும் அபாயகரமானதாகவும் இருந்தது. மிகமிக நிதானமாகத்தான் காரை ஓட்டிச் செல்ல முடிந்தது.

அந்த இருட்டில் இரவு 11 மணிக்கு கொட்டும் மழையில் எப்படியோ ஒரு சிறு கிராமத்திற்கு டாக்டர் வந்து சேர்ந்தார். முன் ஏற்பாடில்லாமல் பயணம் மேற்கொண்டதாலும், எதிர்பாராத பெரும் மழையாலும் அவர்கள் சாப்பிட எதுவும் கொண்டு வராத நிலையில் அந்த இக்கட்டான சூழ்நிலையோடு பசியும் மேலோங்கி வாட்டியது.

கிராமத்தை மெதுவாக நெருங்கிவிட்டவருக்கு அருகே ஏதாவது ஒரு உணவு விடுதி தென்படாதா என்று எதிர்பார்க்கும் நம்பிக்கையும் அந்த நடுநிசியில் ஏற்பட வாய்ப்பில்லை. அப்போது அவருக்கு சற்றே நம்பிக்கை ஊட்டும் வகையில் அங்கே ஒரு வீடு பிரகாசமாக ஒளிதரும் விளக்குடன் தென்பட்டது. மேலும் அந்த வீட்டின் முன் சிலர் யாரையோ எதிர்பார்த்து காத்திருப்பதுபோல சாலையில் வந்து நின்றிருந்தனர். வீட்டின் கதவும் திறந்திருந்தது.

டாக்டர் காரை நிறுத்தினார். இறங்கி அந்த வீட்டை நோக்கி சென்றார். அங்கு நின்றுகொண்டிருந்தவர்களிடம் அப்பகுதியில் சாப்பிட ஏதாவது ஹோட்டல் இருக்கிறதா என்றும் அந்த இரவில் தங்க விடுதி இருக்கிறதா என்றும் கேட்டார்.

உடனே அதற்கான பதிலை அங்கே நின்றவர்கள் சொல்லாமல் அவர் டாக்டரா என்றும் குடும்பத்துடன் வந்திருக்கிறாரா என்றும் பதிலுக்கு கேட்டதில் டாக்டருக்கு ஆச்சர்யம் ஏற்படுத்தும் அனுபவம் ஒன்றிக்கான ஆரம்பம் ஏற்படலாயிற்று.

“ஆமாம்” என்றார் டாக்டர்.

“உங்களுக்குதான் நாங்கள் காத்திருக்கிறோம்” என்று அவர்கள் சொன்னபோது டாக்டருக்கு சந்தேகம் ஏற்பட்டது. ஒருவேளை வேறு யாரோவென்று தன்னை அவர்கள் தப்பாக புரிந்துகொண்டு இப்படி சொல்கிறார்களோ என்று அவர் எண்ணினார்.

ஆனால் அவர்கள் உறுதியாக இரண்டு மணி நேரமாக டாக்டருக்காகத்தான் காத்திருப்பதாக கூறி உள்ளே அழைத்துச் சென்றனர்.

“உங்களுக்கு சாப்பாடு தயாராக உள்ளது. உள்ளே வந்து முதலில் சாப்பிட உட்காருங்கள்” என்று அவர்கள் உபசரிக்க தொடங்கியபோது ஒருவேளை தன்னிடம் இதற்கு முன்பு வைத்தியம் பார்த்துக்கொண்டவர் யாராவதாக அவர்கள் இருக்கக் கூடுமோ என்று டாக்டரின் எண்ணம் சென்றது.

அதை அவர்களிடமே கேட்டேவிட்டார். ஆனால் அவர்களோ “முதலில் சாப்பிடுங்கள். குழந்தைகள் பசியோடு இருக்கிறார்கள். சாப்பிட்டுவிட்டு தூங்கட்டும். பிறகு உங்கள் சந்தேகத்திற்கு பதில் அளிக்கிறோம்” என்று சொல்லி உட்கார வைத்து உணவை பரிமாறினர்.

எல்லோரும் சாப்பிட்டு அரை மணிநேரம் சென்றது. அவர்கள் அந்த அதிசயத்தை வெளிப்படுத்தினர்.

ஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவா எங்க கிராமத்து வழியா பக்கத்து ஊருக்கு போய் தங்கப்போறதா எங்களுக்கு தகவல் கிடைச்சது. மகான் வருகையை எதிர்பார்த்து அவாளுக்கும் ஸ்ரீமடத்தில் உள்ளவர்களுக்கும் சமையல் தயாரிச்சு காத்திருந்தோம். ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா இந்த பக்கம் வந்தவுடன் ஓடிப்போய் எங்க கிராமத்திலே வந்து தங்கிட்டு அப்புறம் கிளம்பலாம் என்று பெரியவாகிட்டே விண்ணப்பிச்சிண்டோம். ஆனா ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா மழைக்கு முன்னாடி அடுத்த ஊருக்கு போய் சேர்ந்தாகணும் அதனால் வர முடியாதுன்னு வருத்தத்தோடு சொன்னார். இருந்தாலும் இன்னிக்கு ராத்திரி இரு டாக்டர் தன் காரில் குடும்பத்தோடு அகாலத்திலே வருவாங்கன்னும், அவர்களை உபசரித்து வேண்டியதை செய்ய சொல்லியும் அன்பா உத்தரவிட்டுட்டு சென்றார். அந்த மகான் சொன்னதாலே உங்களை எதிர்பார்த்து காத்திருந்தோம். ரொம்ப நேரமானதாலேயும், மழை கொட்டறதாலேயும் நீங்க எப்போ வருவீங்களோன்னு பயத்தோடு ரெண்டுமணி நேரமா இங்கே நிக்கறோம்…நீங்க வந்ததிலே ரொம்ப சந்தோஷம். ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா ஆக்ஞையை நிறைவேற்றியதினாலேயும் ரொம்ப பாக்யமா உணரறோம்”

அவர்கள் சொல்லிக் கொண்டே போக, டாக்டர் ஆச்சர்ய மிகுயால் ஸ்தம்பித்து நின்றார். யார் அந்த ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா? எப்படி தான் இந்த வழியே வரப்போவதும், அகாலத்தில் பசியோடு மழையில் மாட்டிக் கொண்டு திண்டாடப்போவதும் அந்த பெரியவாளுக்கு எப்படி முன்பே தெரியவந்தது என்றெல்லாம் அவர் மனம் மிக நம்பமுடியாது தவித்தது. அந்த மகான் சாட்சாத் தெய்வமாகத்தான் இருக்க வேண்டுமென்று அசையாத நம்பிக்கையும் வேர்விட்டுருந்தது.

ஈர்த்து ஆட்கொண்ட அந்த பெருங்கருணையினால் அந்த டாக்டர் ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளெனும் தெய்வத்தை அதற்குப்பின் பற்றிக் கொண்டு ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் பக்தராகும் பாக்யம் அடைந்தார்.

பேதமில்லா பெரும் ஞானி

மேற்கண்ட நிகழ்ச்சியை புரொபஸர் கல்யாணராமன் என்பவர் அந்த டாக்டரிடமிருந்து கேட்டு விவரித்துள்ளார். மேலும் அதே டாக்டருடன் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாள் தரிசனத்திற்கு மகாராஷ்டிராவில் ஒரு ஊருக்கு சென்றபோது நடந்த சம்பவத்தை கல்யாணராமன் சொல்லி வியக்கிறார்.

அந்த ஊருக்கு சென்றபோது ஸ்ரீ பெரியவர் மூன்று நாட்களுக்கு முன்பே அந்த ஊரை விட்டு கிளம்பி அருகில் ஒரு ஆற்றங்கரையோரம் அருளிக் கொண்டிருப்பதாக தகவல் கிடைத்தே அங்கே விரைந்தனர்.

அங்கே சென்றடைந்தபோது ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா ஒரு மாந்தோட்டத்தில் தங்கியிருப்பது தெரிந்தது. ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் தரிசனத்திற்கு அங்கு வரும் எல்லா பக்தர்களுக்கும் அந்த மாந்தோட்டத்தில் எல்லா வசதியும் அந்த தோட்ட சொந்தக்காரர் செய்திருந்தது எல்லோருக்கும் திருப்தியளித்திருந்தது.

அந்த தோட்டத்து சொந்தக்காரர் பற்றிய ஒரு அதிசய தகவலை மடத்தில் சேவை செய்பவர்கள் கல்யாணராமன் அவர்களிடம் விவரித்தனர்.

ஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவா அதற்குமுன் அருள்பாலித்துக் கொண்டிருந்த ஊருக்கு ஒரு அன்பர் தினமும் வருவார் தினமும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளை தரிசிக்க வரும் அந்த முதியவர், ஸ்ரீ மகானின் அருகே வராமல் ஒரு ஓரமாக நிற்பார். ஒன்றும் பேசாமல் சென்றுவிடுவார்.

தினமும் இதை கவனித்துக் கொண்டிருந்த கருணாமூர்த்தியாம் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அந்த முதியவரை அருகே அழைத்தார்.  அந்த அன்பருக்கு என்ன வேண்டுமென்று ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா கேட்க அன்பர் பதிலளித்தார்.

“நான் இந்த பகுதிக்கு ஒரு தினக்கூலியாக வந்தேன். மெதுவா நான் மேஸ்திரியாகி, இரு சின்ன ஒப்பந்தக்காரர் என்று வளர்ந்தேன். ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளை பிரார்தித்து வந்ததாலே நான் இப்போ பெரிய காண்டிராக்டராக உயர்ந்துட்டேன் எல்லாம் பெரியவாளின் கருணையாலேதான். இப்போ எனக்கு ஏராளமா சொத்து, ஊருக்கு வெளியே பல நிலபுலன்கள் இருக்கு. என்னோட பாக்யம் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா இந்த ஊருக்கு வந்து அருளிட்டிருக்கிறதா தெரிஞ்சது. அதனால பெரியவாளை தரிசனம் செய்ய தினமும் வந்து கொண்டிருக்கேன். ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளை என்னோட தோப்புக்கும், வீட்டிற்கும் அழைக்கலாம்னு ஆசைதான், ஆனா நான் கீழ் ஜாதியை சேர்ந்தவனானதாலே இதை எப்படி கேட்பதுன்னு பயம். ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா என்னோட இடத்துக்கு வரமாட்டார்னு எல்லோரும் சொன்னதாலே எனக்கு தயக்கமா இருந்தது. அதனாலே தினமும் வந்து கேட்க தைரியமில்லாம் நின்னுட்டு போயிடறேன்”.

என்று அந்த முதியவர் சொன்னவுடன் சாட்சாத் ஈஸ்வரராம் பரமதயாளர் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா “நான் இந்த ஊருக்கு வந்த முக்கிய காரணமே உன்னை பார்கணும்னுதான். நான் உங்களோட வீட்டுக்கு வரதோடு மட்டுமில்லே, அங்கேயே தங்கறதாகவும் நினைச்சுண்டிருக்கேன்”.

இப்படி அனுக்ரஹித்து அந்த பக்தரை அனுப்பிவைத்தவர் தன் அடுத்த “கேம்ப்”பை சொன்னது போலவே அன்பரின் மாந்தோப்பிலேயே மாற்றி தற்போது பத்து நாட்களாக அருள் பாலித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார்.

இதை கேட்ட கல்யாணராமன் அவர்களுக்கு ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் மாமனதின் மேன்மையை நினைக்கையில் மெய்சிலிர்த்தது.

நீ அறியாதது ஒன்றில்லை!

நாம் தரிசனத்திற்கு போய் நிற்கும்போதே நம்மைப்பற்றிய அனைத்தையும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாயெனும் தெய்வம் அறிந்திருக்குமென்பது அதிசயமல்ல! ஆனால் ஏதோ ஒரு மாயை அதை மறைத்துவிட நாம் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளை தரிசிக்க நிற்கும்போது நாம் குறைகளை சொல்வதால்தான் ஸ்ரீ மகானுக்கு தெரியும் என்று நினைத்துக் கொள்கிறோம்.

இப்படி ஒரு பக்தர்கள் கூட்டம் தரிசிக்க நின்றபோது தர்மம் வழுவாத மேன்மை துறவி பொதுவாக இப்படி பேச்சை ஆரம்பித்தார்.

“மூதாதையர்கள் நமக்கு நன்மை செய்யனும்னு தான் வாரிசுகள் சௌக்கியமா இருக்கணும்னு பலவிதமான தர்மங்கள் தொடர்ந்து நடக்க நிலம்-பணம் சொத்து எல்லாத்தையும் மூலதனமா வைச்சி அதிலே கிடைக்கிற வருமானத்திலே அந்தந்த தர்மங்கள் பாரம்பர்யமா நடக்கணும்னு ஆசைபட்டா. ஆனா ரொம்ப இடங்களிலே அவர் எழுதி வைச்சபடி நடக்கலே தர்மத்துக்கு செலவாக வேண்டிய பணம் குடும்பச் செலவுக்கு பயன்படுகிறது இது அதர்மம். அதனாலே டிரஸ்ட் பணத்தை அனுபவிக்கும் பல குடும்பங்கள் ரொம்பவும் சிரமப்படுகின்றன. பிரயாகையிலிருந்து கொண்டு வந்த சுத்த கங்கையை தெருவோரம் முட்புதர்லே கொட்டிய மாதிரி ஆகிவிடுகிறது”.

இதை கேட்ட அங்கிருந்த பக்தர் ஒருவருக்கு மனதில் உறுத்தியது “இனிமே அப்படி செய்யமாட்டேன். தர்மத்தை செய்யறேன். பெரியவா அபசாரத்தை மன்னிக்கனும்” என்று தேம்பி தேம்பி அழ தொடங்கினார். தவறை சுட்டி காட்டிய கருணை தெய்வம் உடனே கனிந்து அருளியது.

“நான் உனக்காக சொல்லலே. பல குடும்பங்கள் தர்ம சொத்தை தவறா துர்விரயம் செய்துண்டிருகான்னு சொன்னேன்” என்றார் ஆறுதலாக.

தன் முன் நின்று காட்சியருளுவது சாட்சாத் தெய்வமே என்ற தன் தவறை உணர்ந்து குற்ற மனப்பாண்மையுடன் நின்ற பக்தருக்கு நிறைய பிரசாதம் அளித்து தெய்வம் ஆட்கொண்டுவிட்டது. இப்படி நம் எல்லாவற்றையும் அறிந்து தன் கருணையினால் அரவணைக்க காத்திருக்கும் தெய்வமான ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் நாம் கொள்ளும் பக்தி, நமக்கு எல்லா நன்மைகளையும் அள்ளி வழங்கி ஆனந்திக்க வைக்கும் என்பதில் ஐயமுண்டோ!

Sri Sri Sri Maha Periyava Mahimai! – 14-01-07

“Showering grace by attracting towards Him”

Sri Sri Maha Periyava who is a manifestation of Lord Parameshwara and who is as eminent as Sri Sukha Brahma Rishi is showering his grace to all of us by taking a human form. Though He wanted to hide that He is an incarnation of Lord Parameshwara, due to His unbounded compassion, there were many incidents that showed us the greatness of Sri Periyava.

There was a great Doctor in Karnataka. He was doing a yeoman service by treating free particularly for the poor. He did not have an opportunity to know about Sri Sri Sri Maha Periyava.

Due to a wonderful incident in his life, he was possessed by Sri Maha Periyava’s grace. Once the Doctor was travelling in a highway during night time along with his wife and kids. Suddenly it started raining heavily. Due to the darkness, even the path was not clearly visible. It was very difficult and threatening to drive the car. He was able to drive the car only at a very slow pace.

On that night, he somehow managed to drive the car and reach a small village around 11PM. Since they travelled without any prior arrangements and as it was raining heavily all of a sudden and also they did not bring any food with them, along with that troubled situation, they became hungry.

As he was reaching the village slowly, he did not have any hopes that he will be able to find any hotels during that point of time. But to give him very little confidence, he saw a brightly lit house. Also, there were few people standing in front of the house as if they were expecting someone. And the front door was also open.

Doctor stopped the car. He got down and walked towards that house. He enquired to them whether there was any hotel and a place to stay in that village.

Immediately, without answering his question, they asked if he was a Doctor and whether he came with this family. It was just the beginning of a surprising experience for the Doctor.

“Yes” said the Doctor.

“We are waiting for you” said those people and then the Doctor started getting doubts. He was thinking that they mistook him for someone else. But they told confidently that they were waiting just for the Doctor for the past two hours and also took him inside the house.

“Food is ready for you. Please come in and be seated”, they said and started serving food to the Doctor. Then, Doctor started thinking that he might have treated them in the past.

He enquired them about the same. But, they told “have your dinner first as the kids were very hungry. Let them eat and sleep. We will answer your questions later”. Saying so, they continued serving food.

Half hour passed after everyone finished their dinner. Then they started revealing the miracle.

“We got the information that Sri Maha Periyava was passing through our village to the next village. Expecting Mahan’s visit, we prepared food for Sri Periyava and everyone in Sri Matam and were waiting. When Sri Periyava came towards our village, we requested that He stay in our village and leave later. But, Sri Periyava told that He had to reach the next village before it starts raining. But, He told that a Doctor will come late in the night along with his family and ordered us with love that we serve him. Since that Mahan told so, we were waiting expecting you and your family. Since it became very late and it was raining heavily, we were waiting for the past two hours expecting your arrival. We are very happy since you came. We feel fortunate to have fulfilled Sri Periyava’s orders”.

As they kept continuing to narrate, Doctor was stunned due to astonishment. Who is that Sri Periyava? Doctor was struggling to understand how Periyava knew before itself that he is going to travel that way and he is going to be struck in rain with hunger during the night time. Doctor started strongly believing that the Mahan should be the manifestation of Sri Parameshwara.

After this incident, Doctor got the opportunity to become a great devotee of Sri Sri Sri Maha Periyava who showered His grace by attracting the devotee towards Him.

Jnani with no differences

Above mentioned incident was told by Professor Kalyanaraman who got to know it from the Doctor directly. Also, Prof Kalyanaraman narrates another incident that happened when he went with the same Doctor when they went a place in Maharashtra for having Periyava’s darshan.

When they reached the place, they came to know that Periyava left the place three days before and is giving darshan from a lakeshore nearby and they rushed there.

They found that Periyava was staying in a mango orchard. All the devotees who came there were satisfied with the arrangements done by the owner of that orchard.

When Sri Periyava was giving darshan in the previous place before coming here, an old man used to come there every day. He would not come near the Mahan but stand in a corner. He would leave without talking anything.

Periyava, who was gracious personified, having noticed this daily, called the old man near him. When Sri Periyava asked him what he wanted, old man responded to Him.

“I came to this place as a daily wage laborer. Slowly, I became a superintendent and grew as a small supplier. As I was praying Sri Periyava, I now became a big contractor. Everything is because of Periyava’s grace. It is my luck that I came to know that Periyava was camping and blessing devotees in this place. So, I have been coming every day to have Periyava’s darshan. I have a desire to request Periyava to come to my garden and house. But, I was fearing to ask as I belong to low caste. I hesitated to ask as everyone told that Periyava would not come to my place. So, I come every day and go back without getting courage to request”, told the old man. Immediately, Periyava who is an incarnation of Parameshwara told, “I came to this place only to see you. I have been thinking not only to come to your house, but also to stay there”.

Periyava, having told so to the old man, he ensured that His next camp was in the old man’s garden and He is blessing His devotees now from that garden.

Professor Kalyanaraman got goose bumps when he heard this incident and thought about the liberal and broad mind of Sri Sri Periyava.

Nothing Unknown to YOU!!

There is no surprise that Periyava, who is an incarnation of God, would know everything about us when we stand in front of Him for darshan. But, due to maya that clouds this knowledge, we think that the Mahan would know our problems only when we tell it to Him while we stand in front of Sri Sri Periyava for darshan.

Once when crowd stood there for His darshan, Periyava, an ascetic never goes against dharmic path, started talking like this.

“Our forefathers, in order to do good for us, for their descendants to be prosperous they wished various dharma to be continued for generations to come by having their land and property as capital and use the income that comes out of it. But in most places, income that comes out of it is not getting used for dharmic activities. Rather they are getting used for house-hold activities. This is Adharma. Because of that, lot of families who use trust funds are facing lot of troubles. It becomes similar to throwing away pure Ganges, brought from Prayaga, in a roadside bush”.

When a devotee listened to this, he felt bad and told, “Going forward, I will not do that way. Will do only dharmic activities. Periyava should pardon my disrespectful conduct” and started crying uncontrollably. Periyava, a compassionate God, after having pointed out the mistakes, immediately blessed with love.

“I did not tell for you. Many families waste dharma funds illegally”, Periyava told, consoling the devotee.

For that devotee who realized that the incarnation of God is in front of him, who realized his mistakes, Periyava gave lot of prasadam and graciously accepted him. Do we need to have any doubt that the bhakthi we do towards Sri Periyava, who knows everything about us, would shower all prosperity and happiness.
