ரொம்பவும் கலந்து போகவும் கூடாது; ஒரேயடியாகப் பிரிந்தும் இருக்கக்கூடாது; அவரவரின் ஸ்வதர்மப்படியான காரியத்தில் பிரிந்திருக்க வேண்டும்; ஆனால் மனஸிலே ஒன்று சேர்ந்து அனைவரும் ‘அரன் குடிமக்களாக’ ஐக்கியப்பட்டு இருக்க வேண்டும் என்ற உத்க்ருஷ்டமான ஏற்பாடு இதற்கப்புறம் – வெள்ளைக்கார ராஜ்யம் ஏற்பட்டு இங்கே இங்கிலீஷ்காரர்களின் வழக்கங்கள் புகுந்த பின்-வீணாய்ப் போக ஆரம்பித்து விட்டது. இப்படி ரொம்பவும் விலகிப் போகிறபோது மனஸில் அன்பு, ஐக்கிய பாவம் எல்லாம் குறையத்தான் செய்யும். இதனால்தான் ஒருவேளை இப்போது ஆசாரக்காரர்கள் என்றாலே மநுஷாபிமானம் இல்லாமல் வறண்டு போனவர்கள் என்று மற்றவர்கள் நினைக்கிற மாதிரி ஆகியிருக்கலாம். ஆனால் நம் ஸநாதன தர்மத்தை உள்ளபடி பின்பற்றுவதானால் அதற்கு ஸம்ஸ்காரங்கள் எத்தனை அவசியமோ அத்தனை அவசியம் ஆத்மகுண அபிவிருத்தியும். அப்படிப்பட்ட குணங்களில் முதலில் அருளுடைமையைத்தான் சொல்லியிருக்கிறது. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்

One should not mingle too much; at the same time one should not be completely aloof from each other. One should be distinct in the matter of the ‘Swadharma”, the duties enjoined upon oneself by the Shastras but all should be united in the spirit, as children of Eswara, the Supreme Entity. This noble system started disintegrating after the advent of British rule in India and the increased influence of their customs here. When the distance widens, naturally all feelings of love and togetherness get weakened. It is possible, that because of this, traditionalists have come to be viewed as persons lost to all feelings of humanity. But when our Sanathana Dharma is followed in its true spirit, spiritual qualities are accorded as equal an importance as the prescribed rituals.
