ஆலயங்களின் தூய்மை

பேட்டைக்குப் பேட்டை, காலனிக்குக் காலனி புதுக் கோயில்கள் கட்டுகிறார்கள். எங்கே பார்த்தாலும் பழைய கோயில்களையும் புனருத்தாரணம் செய்து கும்பாபிஷேகம் செய்கிறார்கள். புதுக்கோயில், பழைய கோயில் கும்பாபிஷேகங்களுக்காக என்னிடம் பலர் வந்து யோசனையும், பிரஸாதமும் கேட்டபடி இருக்கிறார்கள். இது எனக்கு ரொம்பவும் சந்தோஷமாக இருக்கிறது.

அதே சமயத்தில் என் மனசுக்கு நிரம்ப வருத்தம் தருகிற விஷயங்களையும் பல பக்தர்கள் வந்து தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறார்கள். வேறு யாரிடமும் சொல்லிக்கொள்ள முடியாமல் ஸ்வாமிகளிடம் சொல்லலாம் என்று என்னிடம் வந்து முறையிடுகிறார்கள். இவற்றுக்கு நான் பரிகாரம் தேட வேண்டும் என்று கேட்டுக் கொள்கிறார்கள். மற்றவர்கள் வெளியே சொல்லத் தயங்குகிற இந்த விஷயங்களை நானும் கூடச் சொல்லாமல் இருக்கக்கூடாது. எனக்கு எல்லோரும் சொந்தம்; ஸ்வாதீனப்பட்ட மநுஷ்யர்கள் என்றால், நான் அவர்களிடம் ஒளிவு மறைவில்லாமல் எனக்கு நல்லது கெட்டது என்று தோன்றுவதைச் சொல்லத்தான் வேண்டும். எனவே மனசு விட்டு இப்போது சொல்கிறேன்.

கோயில்களின் சூழ்நிலை அமைதியாக, தூய்மையாக இருக்க வேண்டும். பகவத் ஸ்மரணை தவிர மற்ற நினைவுகள் மறந்துவிடும்படியாக இருக்க வேண்டும். ஆனால் இப்போது என்ன பார்க்கிறோம்? பெரும்பாலான க்ஷேத்திரங்களில் கோயிலைச் சுற்றி ஏகப்பட்ட கடைகள் வந்துவிட்டன. டீக்கடை, சிகரெட் கடை எதுவுமே பாக்கியில்லை. கோயில் அதிகாரிகளே கோயிலுக்கு வருமானம் கிடைக்கிறது என்பதால் இந்த இடங்களை வாடகைக்குக் கொடுக்கிறார்கள். —- அதாவது அநேகமாக ஸ்வாமியைத் தவிர கோவிலையே வாடகைக்குக் கொடுத்திருப்பதாகச் சொல்லலாம். இம்மாதிரியான சூழ்நிலையில் தெய்வ சாந்நித்தியத்தை நாம் கிரகித்துக்கொள்ள சக்தி குறைகிறது. நம் பக்தி சுற்றுச்சூழலால் குறைகிறது.

ஆபீஸ் கட்டிடங்கள், காட்டேஜ்’கள் எல்லாம் இப்போது பல க்ஷேத்திரங்களில் ஏராளமாக முளைத்துவிட்டன. அங்கெல்லாம் தெய்வ சம்பந்தமற்ற காரியங்கள் நிறைய நடக்கின்றன. இது சாந்நியத்தை பாதிக்கிறது. ஏதோ எட்டாக் கையில் இருக்கிற கோயில்களில்தான் விச்ராந்தியான சூழல் இருக்கிறது. அபிவிருத்தி என்ற பெயரில் இவற்றில் அதிகாரிகள் அநாசாரத்தைப் புகுத்திவிடப் போகிறார்களோ என்று பயமாக இருக்கிறது.

இப்போது கோயில்களுக்குத் தனித்தனி நிர்வாகம் இல்லாமல் ஒரே சர்க்கார் நிர்வாகத்தில் இருப்பதால் அவர்களுக்குப் பொது ஜனங்கள் எடுத்துச் சொல்ல வேண்டும். துரதிஷ்டவசமாக, ஆலய ஆபீஸர்கள் ஏதாவதொரு நல்ல காரியத்தை ஆரம்பித்து முடிக்கு முன்பே வேறு ஊருக்கு மாற்றப்பட்டு விடுகிறார்கள். ‘செய்கிற காரியத்தைப் பூர்த்தி செய்து பலனைப் பார்க்கலாம்’ என்கிற உற்சாகம் இருந்தால்தான் அதிகாரிகளிடமிருந்து சிறப்பான பணியை எதிர்பார்க்க முடியும்.

ஆலயங்களில் உட்புறமும், சூழ்நிலையும் சுத்தமாக இல்லாத வரையில், ஆஸ்திக காரியம் எத்தனைதான் நடந்தாலும் எத்தனை கும்பாபிஷேகங்கள் நடந்தாலும் நாம் திருப்திபடுவதற்கில்லை. கும்பாபிஷேகத்துக்கு அப்புறம் சாந்நித்தியம் நிலைத்திருக்க வழி பண்ணாவிட்டால் என்ன பிரயோஜனம்? பிரஜைகள் இவ்விஷயத்தில் தீவிரமான கவனம் செலுத்தினால், அதிகாரிகளுக்கும் சர்க்காருக்கும் பொறுப்புணர்ச்சி அதிகரித்து ஆவன செய்வார்கள். பொது மக்களின் ஏகோபித்த அபிப்பிராயத்துக்கு (public opinion) அந்த சக்தி உண்டு.

ஆலயங்களுக்கு உள்ளேயே நடக்கிற அநாசாரங்களை என்னைத் தவிர யாரும் எடுத்துச் சொல்லமாட்டார்கள் போலிருக்கிறது. அதையும் நானே சொல்கிறேன். இப்போதெல்லாம் டூரிஸ்டுகள், 45, 50 நாள் யாத்திரை கோஷ்டிகள், காலேஜ் பெண்கள், ட்ரெயினிங் ஸ்கூல் பெண்கள் என்று பலர் கூட்டம் கூட்டமாகக் கோயில்களுக்கு பஸ்கள் அமர்த்திக் கொண்டு வருகிறார்கள். அவர்களில் எத்தனையோ பேர் விலகியிருக்க வேண்டிய காலத்திலும் தரிசனத்திற்கு வந்து விடுகிறார்கள். இப்படி செய்வது தோஷம் என்று தெரியாததாலேயே பெரும்பாலும் கோயிலுக்கு வந்து விடுகிறார்கள். முன்பெல்லாம வீட்டு விலக்கு என்று எவர்களை வீடுகளிலேயே தனித்து வைத்தார்களோ அவர்கள் இப்போது கோயிலிலும்கூட விலக்கு இல்லாமல் பிரவேசித்து விடுகிறார்கள்.

‘ஸ்வாமிக்கு ஏது தீட்டு?’ சீர்திருத்தக்காரர்கள் நான் சொல்வதை ஆக்ஷேபிக்கலாம். தீட்டு இல்லாத சுவாமி எங்கேயும் இருக்கிறார். அவரைக் கோயிலில்தான் வந்து தரிசிக்கவேண்டுமென்பதில்லையே? சாஸ்திரப் பிரகாரம் ஸ்வாமியின் சாந்நித்தியத்தைக் கிரகித்துத் தரும் கோயில்களில், அந்த சாஸ்திரங்கள் சொன்ன விதிப்படிதான் ஸ்வாமியைத் தரிசிக்க வேண்டும். இந்த விதிகளை மீறுவதால்தான் பல மகாக்ஷேத்திரங்களில், விபத்து, விபரீதம் எல்லாம் ஏற்படுகின்றன என்பது என் அபிப்பிராயம்.

‘அந்த மகா க்ஷேத்திரத்தில் ஏன் இப்படிப்பட்ட விபத்து உண்டாச்சு? ஸ்வாமி சாந்நித்தியமே போய்விட்டதா?’ என்று கேட்கிறார்கள். நான் மனசு நொந்து சொல்கிறேன்: ஸ்வாமி சாந்நித்தியம் இருப்பதாலேயேதான் நாம் செய்கிற அநாச்சாரத்தைப் பொறுக்க முடியாமல், தம் கருணையையும் மீறி, இப்படி அவ்வப்போது ஒரு விபரீதத்தை நமக்குத் தண்டனையாகத் தருகிறார். விபத்து என்ற பேரில் சில புண்யசாலிகளைத் தம்மிடம் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டு, உயிரோடிருக்கிற நம்மைத்தான் தண்டிக்கிறார். நாம் திருந்த வேண்டும், நல்ல ஆசார ஸம்பன்னர்களாக இருக்கவேண்டும் என்று கருணையினாலேதான் தண்டனை கொடுக்கிறார்.

காட்டேஜ், எக்ஸ்கர்ஷன் எல்லாமே அநேக க்ஷேத்திரங்களில் பக்தியைவிட, உல்லாசகக் கேளிக்கைகளைத்தான் அதிகப் படுத்தியிருக்கின்றன. மொத்தத்தில், நம் வீட்டில் நம்மால் சகிக்க முடியாத அபச்சாரங்களை சாக்ஷாத் வேங்கடரமண ஸ்வாமி சந்நிதியிலும், மற்றும் பல தெய்வ சந்நிதிகளிலும் இழைக்கிறோம்.

இது எனக்கு நன்றாகத் தெரிந்தும், சொல்லாமல் வெறுமனே இருந்தேனானால், அதுவே எல்லாவற்றிலும் பெரிய அபசாரம் என்பதால் என் மனஸிலிருந்ததைச் சொன்னேன். உங்களிடம் சொல்வதாக மட்டும் நினைக்காமல், சாக்ஷாத் வேங்கடரமண ஸ்வாமியிடமே பிரார்த்தனையோடு சொல்கிறேன். அந்த அபசாரங்களைத் தடுத்து நிறுத்துவதில் ஆஸ்திக மகா ஜனங்கள் கண்ணும் கருத்துமாக இருக்க அவர்தான் அருள் செய்ய வேண்டும்!

Devotion-Cleanliness of Temples

People construct new temples in every area and every colony. Everywhere, people are also involved in sanctification of existing temples. They come to see me to get ideas and to obtain blessed offerings for the consecration of new and old temples. This makes me very happy.

At the same time, a lot of devotees also come and tell me certain things that makes me feel extremely sad. Unable to discuss with anyone else and thinking they could tell the saint, the devotees come and appeal to me. They request me to find a good remedy for these wrong doings. Others hesitate to tell about such wrong doings to the world but I should not do the same. Everyone in this world are close to me; Whenever I see people who have a stable mind, I have to tell them what is right and wrong according to me, without hiding or withholding anything. Hence I am going to talk openly now.

The environment at the temples need to be very clean and peaceful. People should forget all other thoughts and only remember God at the temple. However, what are we seeing now? In many places, a lot of shops have come up near the temples including but not limited to tea stalls and cigarette shops. No other kind of shops are left. The temple officers themselves rent out these places since they get income from these shops for the temple. To elaborate, except the God, mostly the entire temple is let out on rent. Due to such an environment, our ability to realize and feel the divine vibration of the God reduces. Our devotion decreases due to the environment around us.

A lot of office buildings and cottages have now come up in many significant divine places. There are a lot of non-divine, bad activities happen at those buildings and cottages. This affects the divine vibration. Only few un-reachable temples have a divine and peaceful environment. In the name of temple growth, I am afraid that the temple officers will force impure activities into such temples as well.

Now, since each temple is not governed separately and all temples are taken care by a single government body, the common people need to inform the government officials about such wrong doings. However, nowadays, if a temple officer is taking up a good project, he is transferred to another place even before the project is completed. Only if the temple officers are able to reap the benefit after the completion of the good project, they will have enthusiasm to take up such projects and do it efficiently.

If the environment inside and outside the temple is not clean, even if numerous sacred ceremonies or sanctifying functions are performed at the temple, we will not be satisfied. After consecration of the temple, if the purity and divine vibration is not retained, what is the use? Only if the common people are passionate about this problem, the government and the temple officers will do their duties properly. Only unified public opinion has the strength to make this possible.

It seems that no one other than me will take initiative to reveal the impure and wrong activities that happen inside the temple. Hence, I will expose those things as well. Nowadays, tourists, 45-50 day religious tour groups, college girls, ladies from training schools and many others come to the temple in buses. Amongst them, even though some of the ladies may have their menstrual cycle during that time and are not supposed to go to temple during that period, they still go inside the temple to see God. Since most of them do not know that it is a big sin to enter the temple when going through menstruation, they commit this mistake.

Previously, the same ladies, who were asked to be away from rest of the family in a separate room even at their own house during this period, are now entering the temple itself during that time. Social activists may oppose this by saying, “How can God be made impure or polluted through this?” Pure and non-polluted God is present everywhere. It is not required to go to the temple to see him, is it not? As per the “Vedhaas” and other sacred scriptures, since the divine strength and vibration is realized and felt only at the temple, we should follow the guidelines set by the “Vedhaas” and the sacred scriptures when going to the temple. Since people do not follow the rules, accidents and other bad incidents happen in some major temples, according to me.

“Why did the temple have such a major accident? Is the divine vibration of the God in the temple completely lost?” People ask. I feel extremely sad to tell this. However, only because the divine vibration still exists, unable to bear all the impure activities done by us, beyond his usual compassionate self, God sometimes punishes us with such accidents. In the name of the accident, God pulls good people towards himself and punishes only us who are still alive. Only to help us realize the sins we committed and make us follow the right path as mentioned in the “Vedhaas” and sacred scriptures, God showers compassion upon us by punishing in this way.

Cottages and excursions have only increased worldly desires and cheap fun instead of devotion towards God. On the whole, the same irresponsible and impure acts that we hate to see at our house, are being displayed in front of Lord Venkataramana and inside other temples as well.

Knowing all these things well, if I remain silent without telling about such wrong doings, I would be committing a grave sin. Hence, I told whatever I felt in my mind. Also, along with telling you all about these impure activities, I am praying and appealing to Lord Venkataramana Swamy himself. Only the Lord can bless the God-fearing common people to intensely concentrate on stopping such atrocities.
