பக்தர்களின் மனக்குறையை தீர்த்த சங்கரன் !!  மஹா பெரியவா !!

மஹாபெரியவாளின் அத்யந்த பக்தர்களில் கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி கனபாடிகளும் ஒருவர் வேதங்களை நன்கு கற்றுணர்ந்தவர் மஹானின் அருகில் சற்று எட்ட அமர்ந்து வேதபாராயணம் செய்து கொண்டு இருப்பவர் இப்போது அவருக்கு வயது எண்பத்தைந்துக்கு மேல் இருக்கலாம்.

பலவருடங்களுக்கு முன்னால் மஹானின் அருகே அமர்ந்து சாமவேதத்தை பாராயணம் செய்து கொண்டு இருந்தார் மஹான் வழக்கம் போல் பக்தர்களுக்கு ஆசியும் பிரசாதமும் வழங்கிக் கொண்டு இருந்த நேரம். பக்தர்களின் வரிசை மெதுவாக நகர்ந்தது, அப்போது ஒரு பக்தர் கையில் ஒரு சிறிய பையுடன் வரிசையில் நின்று கொண்டு இருந்தார் அவரது முறை வந்தபோது மஹானிடம் ஆசிபெற்று பிரசாதத்தை வாங்கிக் கொண்டு அவர் நகர முயற்சித்த போது பெரியவரின் குரல் அவரை நிறுத்தியது.

“எனக்கு கொடுக்கணும்னு கொண்டு வந்ததை கொடுக்காம போறியே “.

பக்தர் திடுக்கிட்டு நின்றார். அவரது கையில் இருந்த பையில் நெல்லிக்கனிகள் அவரது தோட்டத்தில் விளைந்த முதல் கனிகள் அவை. மஹானுக்கு கொடுக்கவே அவர் கொண்டு வந்தார்.

“இங்கே நிறைய ஆரஞ்சு, ஆப்பிள், மாதுளை, திராட்சைன்னு பல பழங்கள் கொண்டு வந்து தரா… நான் சாதாரண நெல்லிக்கனியை பகவானுக்கு தர்றதா அதனாலே தான் கொண்டு வந்ததை எடுத்துண்டு போறேன் …”.

ஒரு மூங்கில் தட்டை காண்பித்து “நீ கொண்டு வந்ததை எடுத்துவை” என்று மஹான் உத்தரவிட பக்தர் தன் பையில் இருந்த நெல்லிக்கனிகளை எடுத்துத் தட்டில் பக்தியோடு வைத்தார்.

கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி கனபாடிகளுக்கு ஒரே வியப்பு பக்தர் நெல்லிக்கனிதான் கொண்டு வந்திருக்கிறார் என்று மஹானுக்கு எப்படித் தெரியும்?

அன்று துவாதசி மஹான் அக்கனியை விரும்பி ஏற்றுக் கொண்டதன் காரணம் இப்போது கனபாடிகளுக்கு புரிந்தது.

ஆதிசங்கரருக்கு ஒரு நெல்லிக்கனியைக் கொடுத்தபோது அவர் வாயிலிருந்து அப்போதே கனகதாரா ஸ்தோத்திரம் கிளம்பியது. இப்போது இவ்வளவு கனிகளை மஹானுக்கு சமர்ப்பித்த அந்த பக்தர் எந்த அளவுக்கு உணர்ந்திருப்பார் என்று கனபாடிகள் வியந்தார்.

அண்மையில், மஹான் நெல்லிக்கனி பெற்ற விவரத்தை கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி கனபாடிகள், சேலம் பெரியவாகிரகத்தைச் சேர்ந்த ராஜகோபாலிடம் சொன்னார். துவாதசியன்று நெல்லிக்கனியை உண்பது எவ்வளவு விசேஷமானது என்பதை மஹான் புரிய வைத்திருக்கிறார்.

இந்த நெல்லிக்கனி விஷயத்தில் மஹான் இன்னொரு அற்புதத்தையும் சேலத்திலேயே நிகழ்த்தியிருக்கிறார். இங்கே பெரியவா கிரகத்தில் மஹாபெரியவாளின் முதல் ஆராதனை வெகு விமரிசையாகக் கொண்டாடப்பட்டது.

இதர பூஜை புனஸ்காரங்கள் அன்னதானம் போன்றவை சாஸ்திரப்படி நடக்க மிகவும் விமரிசையாக ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டு இருந்தது. முதல் ஆராதனை என்பதால் யாரிடமும் எள்ளளவும் சுணக்கம் தென்படவில்லை.

அன்னதானம் செய்யும் போது பெரியவாளுக்கு மிகவும் பிடித்தமான நெல்லிக்காய் ஊறுகாய், நெல்லிக்காய் பச்சடி போன்றவை வழங்க வேண்டும் என்று தீர்மானித்து, நெல்லிக்கனியை தேடி சேலம் முழுதும் அலைந்தார்கள் ஆனால் முதல் நாளும் ஜெயந்தி அன்றும் எவ்வளவு தேடியும் யாருக்கும் கிடைக்கவில்லை. மிகவும் மனகிலேசம் அடைந்த ராஜகோபாலன் எல்லாம் பரிபூரணமாக இருக்க இந்த நெல்லிக்கனி விஷயத்தில் குறை ஏற்பட்டுவிட்டதே என்ற எண்னம் மேலோங்கியது. அதை அப்படியே விட்டு விட வேண்டியதுதான் என்று அநேகர் சாந்தமடைந்து விட்டனர்.

பூஜைகள் ஆரம்பமாகி வேதியர்கள் அமர்ந்து முறைப்படி எல்லாமே நடைபெற்றுக் கொண்டிருந்தது..

ஹால் நிறையக் கூட்டம். அந்த நேரத்தில் பெரியவா கிரகத்தின் வாயிலில் ஒரு நபர் வந்து நின்றார்.அவரது கையில் ஒரு பை.

நான் “ராஜகோபால் மாமாவை பார்க்கவேண்டும்” என்றார் வந்தவர்.

“அவர் பூஜை செய்யும் வேதியர்களுக்கு உதவிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார் இப்போது அவர் இங்கு வர முடியாது” இந்த பதிலைக் கேட்டு வந்தவர் சற்று தயங்கினார்.

“சரி இந்த பையை அவரிடம் கொடுத்து விடுங்கள்” என்று தன் கையில் இருந்த பையை கொடுத்தார்.

“யார் தந்ததாகச் சொல்வது?”.

“சங்கரன்” என்று சொல்லுங்கள், பையைக் கொடுத்தவர் விறு விறு என்று வந்த வழியே சென்றுவிட்டார்

அவர் கொடுத்த பையில் நிறைய நெல்லிக்கனிகள் இருந்தன அங்கே இருந்தவர்கள் அடைந்த ஆனந்தத்திற்கு அளவே இல்லை.

இதில் முக்கியமான விஷயம் அந்த சங்கரன் யார் என்றே இன்று வரை ராஜகோபாலுக்குத் தெரியாது.

பக்தர்களின் மனக்குறையை மஹான் எவ்வாறு பூர்த்தி செய்கிறார் என்பதற்கு இதை விடச் சான்று தேவையா?

The Omnipresent…The Omniscient…

Krishnamurthy Ganapadigal, an expert on Vedas, was an ardent devotee of Mahaperiyava .He used to sit at a little distance from Mahaperiyava and recite the Vedas. An elderly person, he must now be nearly eighty five years of age.

Several years ago, he was reciting Sama Vedam, in the presence of Mahaperiyava. Sri Periyava was blessing the devotees and giving prasadam to them and a long queue, waiting for His Darshan, was slowly moving. Standing in the queue, was a devotee, with a small bag in his hand. When his turn came, he sought the blessings of Mahaperiyava  and got the prasadam from Him. When he tried to move away, Sri Periyava’s firm voice stopped him.

Mahaperiyava asked the devotee to hand over whatever the latter had brought for Him. The devotee was thunderstruck. In the bag in his hand were gooseberries(Nellikkani-Amla)from the first harvest in his garden. He had carried them as an offering to Mahaperiyava.  He hesitatingly explained to Sri Periyava, that on seeing the apples and pomegranates  being offered to Mahaperiyava by the other devotees, he felt a little shy to offer these humble gooseberries and was taking them back.

Mahaperiyava instructed the devotee to place all the gooseberries in a bamboo plate and the latter humbly obeyed Him.

Krishnammurthy Ganapadigal was astonished. How did Sri Periyava knew that the devotee had got gooseberries? On musing over it, Ganapadigal realised that it was Dwaadasi day and no wonder Mahaperiyava had accepted this offering.   When one gooseberry was given to the young Adhi shankara in Bhiksha, Sri Kanakadhara Sthothram flowed from his lips and a shower of golden gooseberries took place, It made Ganapadigal wonder, how this devotee, who devoutly submitted a plateful of gooseberries to Mahaperiyava must have felt!

Recently, Sri Krishnamurthy Ganapadigal shared this experience with Rajagopal of Periyava Gruham in Salem and clarified how auspicious it was to consume gooseberry on a Dwadasi day.   Mahaperiyava had caused another miracle to happen in this matter of gooseberries at Periyava Gruham in Salem where Sri Periyava’s first Aradhana was celebrated grandly.

Arrangements had been made to observe all rituals according to the Shastras and Annadhaanam was also to be done. Everybody was participating enthusiastically.    It was decided to include Nelli Pickle and Nelli Raitha  in the menu for the Annadhanam, since Mahaperiyava was very fond of them. But, in spite of all efforts, and searching throughout Salem, the organisers could not lay their hands upon gooseberries. On the first day and the day of the Jayanthi, the feast did not include these two items. Rajagopalan was dejected and felt that the Annadhanam was incomplete without these items, but many devotees had reconciled themselves to the situation.

The rituals of Aradhana had started and everything was proceeding according to tradition. The hall was jam packed.   At the same time, a person came and stood outside Periyava Gruham. He had a bag in his hand. He wanted to meet Rajagopal. He was informed that Rajagopal was helping the priests who were performing the Pooja and hence could not come outside.

The visitor hesitated a little and then requested that the bag should be handed over to Rajagopal. On enquiry, he said his name was Shankara and immediately left the place.

The bag he had handed over was full of gooseberries and the organisers were overwhelmed with joy. What is crucial here is that till date, Rajagopal does not know who this “Sankaran’ was.

Is any more proof needed to show how Mahaperiyava fulfills the yearnings of His devotees?
