Sri Maha Periyava’s Guru Bhakthi

Jaya Jaya Shankara Hara Hara Shankara – Found this small but very interesting incident to share! Another lesson for us on how to do Guru Bhakthi! Ram Ram

Every year during Sri Shankara Jayanthi Acharyal would visit the various Theerrtha Kulams (divine ponds) in Kanchipuram and one among these would be the Sarva Theertha Kulam. On the way back from this Kulam Aacharyal would stop at the entrance of Sri Matam and remain there until night, giving Darshan for all devotees. Periyava would arrive at the entrance of Sri Matam on this day anticipating the arrival of Aacharyal and remain there for as long as Aacharyal was present. He would not even go for Bhiksha and say how he could do so when Aacharyal was present!! Additionally He would instruct the umbrella to be held in different angles so as to avoid the sun falling directly on Aacharyal!!
