ஒரு கழக்கோடி எப்படி எந்த அழுக்கிலும் பட்டுக் கொள்ளாமல் கிறுகிறு என்று உருளுகிறதோ — அந்தக் கழக்கோடி மேல் நாம் கொஞ்சம் விபூதியைப் பூசினால் அதைக்கூட உதிர்த்துவிட்டு ஓடும் — அப்படி எந்த இன்ப துன்பத்திலும் ஒட்டாமல் பரமாத்மாவை நோக்கி ஓடி அவரைச் சேர்ந்து விடுவோம். இந்தச் சேர்க்கைதான் யோகம் என்பது. அதுதான் நம் மூலமான நிலை. அதுவேதான் முடிவான நிலையும். நடுவாந்திரத்தில் நாம் எப்படியோ மாறிப் போயிருக்கிறோம். அதனால் அந்த நிலை இப்போது நமக்குப் புரியவில்லை. நமக்குப் புரிகிற இடத்திலிருந்து அந்த நிலைக்குப் போக வேண்டுமானால் கர்மத்திலேயே ஆரம்பிக்க வேண்டும். – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்
The kazhakkodi keeps rolling without gathering any dirt. Even if you smear some Vibuthi (holy ash) on it they will not stick to it. Like the kazhakkodi we too must not be affected by pain or pleasure and keep journeying (rolling) towards the Paramathma and becoming one with It. Such union is called ‘Yoga’ – it is our original as well as ultimate state. In between we somehow have become different. That is why we do not understand that ultimate and original state now. I have seen a kazhakkodi. We used to have some at home when we were children, and as usual we never knew its value , an antique now.
It is a grey colored seed which was used as a piece or ‘coin’ in games like pallaankuzhi and I believe it was used as an ammaanai piece.
Our paatti also used the word kazhakkodi to denote a small quantity, like a Kazhakkodi alavu puli (tamarind) etc.

If I remember right, it is a type of a seed, that will be like a full betel nut seed, but smoother. We used to play with it.

What is Kazhakkodi? Bambaram? But it rolls only for a few seconds at a time..hence not sure. It would be nice if those who know can clarify.
