I had a vivid dream once when I find myself floating in a very small capsule (similar to a small parisal in Tamil), in a very large water body where I cannot see the shores, like a big lake or an ocean. Suddenly I fall into the water and seek help by praying to Pujya Sri. Mahaperiyava.
Immediately, listening to my prayer, His Holiness appears in a big boat by Himself. He looks at me and tells me that I am struggling in the ocean of samsara, like many others. To come out of the samsara cycle, His Holiness asks me to chant this mantra “AUM NAMO BHAGAVATE KAMAKOTI CHANDRASEKHARAYA”. He helps me to get into the boat and then drifts away. The dream disappears. After that I had been constantly chanting the mantra, which has been a tremendous source of strength.
Since I was a boy, I learnt a particular sloka (pranaumi dakshinamurthi ….) from my uncle. I chant that sloka and do namaskaram using the mantra “OM NAMO BHAGAVATE CHANDRASEKHARAYA”. Mahaperiyava added the word KAMAKOTI to that line. Hence, I thought it was very special, having listened from Him.
Several family members and friends have seen the darshan of Pujya sri Mahaswamiji in the dream after they vow to repeat the mantra for 10000 times and start the counts daily (300, 500 etc).

I am not clear when you say chant 10000 times – in a day or over a period of time?

thanks for the reply….I read the last para but it is not clear to me if 10000 times in a single day. IS there a particular day in the week this needs to be chanted I got to know about Shri Maha PAerivayar early this year. And I have learnt a lot about him online and I am really enarmored with HIS simplicity, humility, wiseness…..words cannot really express my thoughts. I really appreciate this posting and the prayer line. So any guidance would be greatly appreciated. I chant this line as much as I can during the day but I dont really count as such.
Hari Om, Maate it says “repeat the mantra for 10000 times and start the counts daily (300, 500 etc.)”….. which means you can chant 100 times today, and start doing 200 times next day, that counts 300, like this, after every day or every time you start doing any number of times, say, 67, 128, 216… times, keep adding to your count untill you reach 10000. To remember, write down in the notebook or mobile or computer that which is comfortable to you. Hope you get it now. Periva Sharanam!

Excellent experiences, though I understood in parts only. I too have had the good fortune of having an ekanta darshanam of Mahaperiyava in 1983. Can I have the email address of Shri Raviji?

Thank you for this chanting. Two days back me and my husband saw Ravi Venkataraman mama video on you tube and we felt so blessed. We had doubts whether we could chant this. So I tried to send a mail to Ravi mama but I think the mail id was not correct , I was just telling my husband lets wait and see . And i feel I got my answer . Thank you so much .
