With our humble namaskarams to our great acharyas, on this auspicious Pournami day combined with Arudhra Darshan of Lord Nataraja, this blog & Kanchi Guruparampara Foundation (KGF) is pleased to present you all the fully functional first-ever 24×7 Periyava Radio (www.periyavaradio.net) – dedicated to the acharyas of the great Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam.
First and foremost, my namaskaram to Mahaperiyava who made this idea come to my mind. HH Balaperiyava’s blessings to this initiative was a pleasant surprise. When I wrote to Him, I was not optimistic at all in receiving blessings as I thought this request is too small for Him! Yet He showed His kindness in sending His divine blessings on an auspicious day like Vijayadasami!
Second, it didn’t take too long to realize that this effort is not something like running a blog that can be done by one person ! This is lot more labor intensive, time-sensitive effort that requires a team to do. Thanks to Mahaperiyava, who sent me a fine set of team members without whom this would not have been possible. They are not just bodies who do some work – they are passionate about what they’re doing to Mahaperiyava. Great mix of people – newly married couples, bachelors, just-became-moms, IT professionals, my colleagues etc. With the entire house washed away in the Chennai flood, this volunteer from Chennai was worried about not contributing to this project!! Only 1 in a million could think like that! While traveling on work, attending calls in midnights, having a new-born baby and still willing to contribute, taking calls amidst a house-shifting and sitting in parking lots shows nothing but their devotion to Periyava. Special thanks to our web and mobile developers for delivering a great output – this trio team do not compromise an inch on quality!! There are other folks who got disconnected due to flood etc. My sincere thanks to all who participated in every way – they all will have opportunities to engage with us in the future too. If I write about each of them, I need several posts to detail their commitments. I sincerely pray Periyava to bless these people with everything and keep them with me to run this station successfully for a long time!
Please note that the entire program schedule will be played both in Indian Time and US Eastern Time.
Finally, we aren’t perfect. We learnt a lot about internet radio during this journey and still learning. Together as a team, we constructed this station from all aspects based on our assumptions on how folks would listen, when etc. We have put together a good program schedule to begin with that has the mix of all – periyava speeches, upanyasams, Periyava mahimai, bhajans, veda goshams/bashyams etc…
We aren’t stopping here! We intend to refine this schedule as we progress based on your listening preferences and suggestions too. We could be wrong in certain assumptions. Please remember that we have spent a lot of time, effort and money spent on this initiative. Only by receiving your feedback and continued support, we will be motivated to run this station and make it better for you. It is very important that we hear your feedback about everything – timing, program schedules, content, quality etc. Please suggest how we can make this station better. If you have any audio content to be submitted, please use the form in the radio site to send to us.
Our mobile team has done an outstanding job in creating a beautiful app. It has lots of sections (1) Dheivathin Kural (2) Photos (3) Videos (4) Radio etc. This is an app to keep.

Sorry, sorry Respected Mahesh laudable is a very small word to describe what you are doing. To transform this into a movement there is a desperate need to take periyavaa’s teachings to the edu campuses across India. I suggest a few noble souls who will most probably be willing to help. One, Sri. Gurumurthy, Columnist whom everybody knows as a disciple of Periyavaa and Sri. Sarma Sastrigall who has taken upon himself to spread our vaideeka and Sastric practices among our Hindu community or telecast their speeches on Periyavaa radio, they can elaborate well on the greatness of Bharathabhoomi.

Great Initiative. I was listening to the Radio today and Periyava spoke about the importance of understanding at least 100 shlokas with meaning. He also speaks about a collection of shlokas called Neeti Saram. I managed to find the malayalam version of the same in https://archive.org/details/neethisaram .
Looks like a treasure. Do you any possible Sanskrit version of this work with meaning in English/Tamil?

I have installed the appas in my iPhone. iPad and just now in android phone.
But please clarify, why I am hearing vedaparayanam live on ” now playing ” on my android and Pravachaanam the iPhone and iPad .
It is not live , I feel.There is no ” now playing ” option .
Could this be because iOS is yet to be approved ?

However, Sri Shivaraman does not want the devotees experiences (interviewed by him) to be broadcasted through this radio. If you have any content outside of his interviews, please zip and email me.
How can there be a copyright for a Periyava experience? Even if there were one, the experience is shared by the individual and henceforth the right should be owned by the individual. Unless the videos were recorded under the banner of any registered recording house, there is no question!
More than anything, since these experiences are about mahaperiyava – NO “INDIVIDUAL” can own the rights to the same.
It will not take too long to convert all the experiences into soundcloud and soon host it on a separate site and see who comes to claim rights?
