Experience with Maha Periyava-Rameswaram Cyclone 1964

Jaya Jaya Shankara Hara Hara Shankara – Thanks to Maha Periyava Puranam blog for this timely post. Sharing it below. Ram Ram.

As we all continue to pray to Periyava to save people in Chennai from the disastrous flood situation, it is emotionally moving to hear an incident where MahaPeriyava sent rice bags to Rameswaram since the beginning of 1964 foreseeing the disastrous cyclone that devastated Rameswaram at that time.

Gudalur Ramachandran Sastrigal was in Rameswaram during those times. Mama narrates this particular incident and confirms the authenticity of the incident in the small video snippet (7 min) below.

Talking about MahaPeriyava , mama from the bottom of his heart refers to HIM in one word  – “Amaanushyam” …

Mama further attributes the Slokam 45, from Chapter 6 in Bhagavad Gita to MahaPeriyava:

Aneka janma samsiddhatah  tatah yati param gatim ||

One who attained the perfections of many many lifetimes!

The full video of Sastrigal mama can be viewed below. Due to mama’s age, he was not able to talk cohesively. Thanks to his son who has assisted him in sharing mama’s experience with MahaPeriyava.

  2. I looked at the caption at the end of the clip on Rameswaram incident. Strange are the ways of atma gnanis!

Let us all think for a moment – why did he not directly intervene in the calamity by forewarning people at least some of them or diverting it somewhere else – are these not possibile for Periyava ? It is because the people had the yogyadhey to receive his succour in the form of food they received it in time. Let us acquire merit to receive his grace in a similar way of course through his aparakaruney!

  3. Hara Hara Sankara Jaya Jaya Sankara!!

Thanks for providing the valuable information about HIM!!

Kindly translate the videos to English and post the same, so that Every Bhakth of HIM would able get the info.

    Regards
