வியாதி வந்த பின்பு மருந்து சாப்பிட்டுப் போக்கிக் கொள்ளுவதை விட வராமலே தடுத்துக் கொள்ள வேண்டும். அதற்கு உபவாஸம் ஒரு பத்தியம். மிகவும் கீழான இடத்தில் மனதை வைத்தால் கீழான பைத்தியம் உண்டாகிறது. மேலான இடத்தில் வைத்தால் மேலான பிரம்மவித்தாக ஆகிறோம். ஆகையால் ஈசுவர சரணாவிந்தத்தைப் பிடித்தால் நமக்கு அப்படிப்பட்ட உயர்ந்த நிலை உண்டாகும்.

It is better to prevent falling ill rather than treating with various medicines after the fact. Upavasam (Fasting) is one of the methods for that. If we keep our mind in low level we stay in that low level lunacy. If we keep in on a high level we become a Brahma Vitthu (Experience Brahman).
