சிவன் கோயிலுக்குப் போனால் மஹாலிங்கம் கிழக்கே பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருப்பார். அவருக்கு ஈசான்ய (வடகிழக்கு) திக்கில் நடராஜா தெற்கே பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருப்பார். ஒரு காலை வேறு தூக்கிக் கொண்டு நிற்பார். அவரை எப்பொழுதும் நாம் ஹிருதயத்தில் தியானம் பண்ணிப் பண்ணி, கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சமாக அவரை நினைத்து, அந்த ஆனந்தத் தாண்டவமூர்த்தியின் ஸ்வரூபம் மனத்தில் ஸ்புரிக்கும்படி ஆகிவிட்டால் அதைத்தான் சித்தியாகி விட்டது என்று சொல்வது.  – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்

In Siva temple Mahalingam will be facing the East. In his North East (Esaniya) direction Nataraja will be facing South. He will also seen with one leg lifted upwards. We have to keep thinking of him always in our heart, and mind.
