நாம் உலக ரீதியாக பயன் பெறுவதற்காக கடவுளிடம் பக்தி செலுத்தினால், அது பக்தியாகாது. பண்டமாற்று வியாபாரமாகும். நம்முடைய ஆன்மீக உயர்வுக்காக பக்தி செலுத்தினால், ஒரு நதி சமுத்திரத்தை அண்டும் போது அதன் ஓசையும், வேகமும் அடங்கி சாந்தப்படுவதைப் போல நாமும் சாந்தியை பெறுவோம். தனக்கு வெளியிலே, தன்னைத் தவிர ஒன்று இருப்பதாகக் கருதி, ஆனந்தத்தை தேடி அந்த ஒன்றிடம் பக்தி செலுத்துகிறான். தன்னையே ஒருவன் அறிந்து கொள்ளும்போது தானும் கடவுளும் வேறல்ல ஒன்று தான் என்ற உணர்வு ஏற்படும்.

If we do Bhakthi towards Bhagawan aiming materialistic pleasures that is not Bhakthi. It is exchange of commodities. If we focus on uplifting ourselves spiritually, it is like a river approaching the ocean before merging. The speed, noise reduces while merging and attains a calm state. We do Bhakthi thinking there is something external to us and keep chasing it for happiness.
